This project has been a profound learning experience. Through the lens of my camera, I've had the privilege of documenting the lives, dreams, and challenges of individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Each click of the shutter has taught me something new about the world we live in and the profound impact of economic systems on our daily lives.

In the context of my class, I've now reached a significant milestone—I've finalized the body of work that will be presented as my project submission. I've embraced the ethos of "local first," taking the time to visit local businesses and immerse myself in their unique narratives.

One of my recent forays took me to the heart of a bustling local burger joint. The owners, bursting with pride for their craft, graciously allowed me an all-access pass to their culinary sanctuary. Behind the counter, my camera found new subjects in the sizzle of the grill, the vibrant array of condiments, and the orchestrated chaos of a busy lunch rush. Capturing the establishment's spirit, I witnessed the silent stories of dedication and hard work that are seldom told.

In a meeting brimming with insightful critiques, my professor encouraged me to widen my lens to include different subject matters. "Explore beyond people," he said, nudging me to consider how the quality of condiments, the orderliness of an establishment, or the subtleties of "high class" aesthetics can reflect the socioeconomic diversity of its clientele. It was a revelation that prompted me to see how every detail in a frame conveys a story, from the gourmet ketchup to the polished silverware, each element is a character in its own right.

Taking this advice to heart, I've started observing how these details serve as indicators of the customers they attract. Embracing Black and White: One significant decision I've made is to shoot this project entirely in black and white. The choice of monochrome photography holds a particular allure for me. It allows me to distill the essence of the moments I capture, stripping away distractions and focusing on the core emotions and details. Black and white photography, I've found, has the power to evoke timelessness, emphasizing the universal aspects of human experiences that transcend the constraints of color.
