STOP THE SHOCK
Please stop scrolling and please take 26 seconds to watch this video (TW: Abuse of disabled people):
(Reposted by kind permission of @/auteach on TikTok).
On July 6th, a federal court overturned an FDA ban on the use of electroshock devices on autistic people, which the United Nations recognises as torture.
This blog will be dedicated to the #StopTheShock campaign and will include survivorsâ stories and action points to help fight this decision and stop the torture of autistic people.
For a current list of action points, head over to the AuTeach website. PLEASE REBLOG and spread the word, even if you are not autistic, and follow this blog for updates.

Korra and Asami only held hands because Nickelodeon wouldnât let them do more. Nick infamously cancelled Korra and put out the rest of season 4 as a webseries only.
Marceline and Princess Bubblegum only kiss in the very final episode because Cartoon Network wouldnât let them do more. There are a ton of interviews with Pendelton and with the voice actresses where they talk about the CN censorship.
Steven Universe got as far as it did because Rebecca Sugar fought tooth and nail, and risked the show getting cancelled (which it did in many countries, if not heavily censored), because Cartoon Network wouldnât let her. Ruby was often dubbed over with a male voice, and Pearl/Rose interactions were completely cut.
She-Ra managed to do it largely because it was specifically on Netflix only, and even then, Noelle has said they had to build 4 seasons of storyline very subtly around it so they had enough ammo to convince the execs that Catradora was the only logical conclusion to this show they had already aired. She didnât just go in on Day 1 and make it gay; she had to plan many years in advance for how to set up her argument. Her argument, yâall.
And now we have The Owl House. Which is an absolutely wonderful show. And itâs so amazing that we actually get to see queer characters get the kind of representation that so many straight characters get. And itâs amazing we get to see the romance build up, instead of just a quick peck in the series finale!
Letâs not forget that in the US, it was illegal for gay people to get married until 2015. Korra aired in 2012. In Texas, it was a punishable felony to even be gay until the mid-90s. No, literally. Just being gay was an arrestable offense here in Texas until 1993. We have come a really long way in 20 years!
But donât fucking dare disrespect any of these other shows by saying they didnât try, or that their representation didnât matter. Â The Owl House is standing on the shoulders of giants. Â Lumity is only where it is because Korrasami and Bubbline helped get them there.

Iâm honestly very afraid that transgenderism will eventually become a compulsory âtreatmentâ for homosexuality like it is in Iran. You could argue it is already, at least socially. We have a social pandemic on our hands.

Recently the Vancouver Rape Relief & Womenâs Shelter had itâs city funding cut due to claims of transphobia. That means that they will lose out on $34,312 that the city had originally approved. Vancouver Rape Relief & Womenâs Shelter is Canadaâs oldest rape crisis center, located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The shelter was established in 1973 and has operated a feminist transition house since 1983, offering women shelter from men who are abusing them, including fathers, husbands, sons, pimps, johns and landlords.
This is one of the few female spaces left for women in need. Please consider helping:

So Chris-Chan admitted to raping his mom over a phone call today and is possibly facing years in jail for his crimes yet people like this find that disrespecting pronouns is more of a offense than Incestual Rape. No words

Okay so clearly Tumblr is blocking the posts about the #ActiBlizzWalkout cause my reblogs aren't showing up on my dash - anyway don't cross the virtual picket line folks and let's stand up for women and marginalized groups in the gaming workplace.
Avoid these games/companies, thanks
