Occult Care:

There has been a small pattern in my asks where people were asking about spiritual and energetic burnout. As you can image, this is concerning because it means that occult self-care isn't really spoken of. We have the basics of cleansing, warding, banishing, what to do and what not to do, etiquette and more - but we don't have a lot talking about the nitty gritty of it. Why it's recommended to have a consistent energy work practice or grounding, or even why grounding is so important. Nor do we talk about the qualities of energy outside of a proposed 'negative' and 'positive'.

Safe to say, there isn't a lot. This isn't a comprehensive post by any means, but is largely just a mashing together of experiences.

Fire and Water Energy

Outside of the praxis of 'negative' (or low vibration, apparently,) energy and 'positive' (high vibration) is a new world of consideration. One of those areas is the quality of energy in relation to other energies around it.

If an energy is hot or has a heating effect, it can be considered fiery in nature. This energy is active, moving, dynamic and can also be the cause of burnout. Putting too much electricity through a cord not made for it will cause an issue.

On the flipside is the cool energy of water. Too much of this can cause stagnation, episodes of spiritual depression, fogginess and sluggishness.

Generally, Fiery Energy is invoked during rituals because we ant movement. What this also means is that we're exposed to this heat, and so need to take time to also cultivate a 'cold' practice. That is that we need to spend time creating something to balance the 'active' forms of our practice. This can be meditation, energy work without any real goal in mind, lunar based meditations or ,quite honestly, intermittent ritual work.

Outside of a Ritual Circle

If you're in a dominantly fiery space, you'll come down quickly when exposed to the varied energetic qualities outside of your ritual or circle. If we were to consider the ritual as producing a high through a stress response, then the sudden drop creates something akin to the whole BDSM Concept of a 'drop'.

Despite the stigma, treating a ritual like a scene is something worth considering because there's a few key notes we can take.

Preparation: This includes awareness of triggers, limitations, keywords, setting your intent, making sure everything's set and ordered both mentally and physically, self-awareness, grounding, mindfulness.

The Scene Itself: little check-ins throughout the ritual to see how the effects are. If you're going too high, insert a little reprieve. If you're going too low, do the same.

The After-Scene: Check with yourself, how do you feel? Do aftercare accordingly, slowly bring yourself back down to the earth. Manage symptoms accordingly (hunger, eat something small. Drink something, take a nap if you need to, mindfulness and grounding meditation to bring yourself from a neither-neither to 'here and now'. Go do something stupid, banish with laughter, basically treat yourself.

Ritual Aftercare for the Body

Extended sitting periods: go and walk around, or stretch your legs and arms. Do here what you'd do if you sat down in front of your laptop or computer for too long and needed to take a break.

Take a nap. Trust me, this works well. If you hate yourself, wash. If you hate the world, eat. If you feel like the world hates you, sleep.

A snack. Items to increase blood sugar, carbs, foods with electrolytes, yogurt. Alternatively, cold foods like peppermint tea, pear, apples, bananas and so on.

Bathing or showering.

Dry brushing to get blood and energy flowing again.

Savasana (Corpse Posture) - quite literally, lay down and let the energy do its own thing until it reaches equilibrium.

Ritual Aftercare for the Mind

Pranayama (often used to refer to mindful breathing before and after ritual) - sit for a few moments and just allow your mind to settle and follow your breath.

Emotional Regulation Techniques - One technique I like is to hug yourself and to rock back and forth, essentially be a parent to yourself and cradle yourself in that moment.

Five-Senses technique: look for five things you can see, four things you can feel, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste.

Go for a walk.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)

Ritual Aftercare for the Spiritual:

Anointing: Not really with Abramelin Oil but with other oils, especially those with earthy or grounding scents. The head, hands, feet and heart are preferred here.

Cold Water Bath: With too much fiery energy, washing the head with cold water is a good way to settle the fire energy lower to the body.

Sandalwood: A sandalwood tilak placed on the forehead soothes the mind and helps in establishing mental clarity.

Camphor Oil: A cooling oil is good to place on the head and the back of the ears to cool down the body.

Pluto through the houses: Synastry

1st: Both people have a way of prying under the skin of the other bringing all the insecurities they thought were hidden to the light. It can be almost jarring and abrasive. Even though its not intentional they pick up on it so naturally they probably didnt even know they hit a wound. This relationship may come about at a time when your self image and public persona is going through a change. Lying about that image can also be an issue here. And to the first, I hope you're doing well now! I have two examples of road accidents for you. One happened to me while I was crossing on a green light with my bike. I didn't see the guy on his motorcycle, so he hit my front wheel. He had scratches worse than mine and I had to pay for the damage on his bike as well. The other happened to a friend, someone hit his car and he ended up in the police station, but he also didn't have his license (or something about his documents) and he got a fine.

Accidents are related to Mars and the 6th house. The 6th and Mars are understood as the "bad fortune", bad luck, like sickness, disease, acute pain or trauma, accidents.

The 3rd house is about mobility, the streets and travel. Cars are seen in the 3rd or as the 3rd house ruler. And the Moon is associated with cars and means of transportation.

Saturn is a lot of times involved because Mars-Saturn gives the idea of a fast object hitting a brick wall, but Mars is doing the action. Maybe the 12th can be involved as well, but less so and in specific ways, probably, like when you get stuck in the middle of nowhere because you hit something, or when you have to go to the hospital, etc.

My friend, who is a gemini rising, he had it happen in a 2nd house profection of the ascendant, activating cancer and the moon in the 1st house. His solar return came with the same ascendant and Mars on it, afflicting the Moon. Mars rules his 6th house.

But how isn't this just signifying a bad year for health and money? Well, the Solar Return Moon is in the 3rd of short distance travel, aspecting Mars very closely. You also see Saturn involved opposite the Moon and in a close superior trine to Mars. I don't think I need to say more…

I've been doing profections in the way of Valens, profecting every planet and point, giving preference to the occupant of the sign (first natal occupant then solar return occupant) to determine the timelord, then, if there's none, to the ruler. And just jumping to the next sign every month to do monthly profections, transmiting matters to the next guy. So, on the second month, the ascendant and the Moon transmit matters to the Moon again, in the 3rd house in Leo, because she's there on the Solar Return. And that's when the accident happened. I wish I could show you the transits, but I don't remember the exact date. Any accident also turns into a financial issue, but it's interesting here that this was signified as well by the Moon ruling the 2nd house.

As for myself, I was in a 3rd house profection of the ascendant when I had the accident, activating Jupiter in Capricorn, which if you profect to its own 3rd, it transmits matters to Saturn in Pisces, the ruler of the 3rd. The Solar Return has a Mars-Saturn conjunction on the ascendant, to which the Moon is applying a square. This is famous for signifying accidents, and Mars rules the 3rd here. I am ruled by Mars, as well as my 6th house, so it's funny that I caused it.

This also happened on the second month of the profection, when the ascendant transmited to that conjunction of Mars and Saturn in Aquarius. While Jupiter transmited to Mars (Aries), the SR's 3rd house and the natal 6th.

The chart below is for the time of the accident. Aquarius was rising with Saturn, the Moon was aspecting it on the same place as it was on the solar return. Jupiter, the time lord of my year (which is also my timelord by distributions), and Mars, the one Jupiter transmited to that month, are in the 3rd exactly conjunct.

heyoo it's me again lol. I was wondering if "hereditary astrology" or astrological family patterns are an actual thing in traditional astrology? Do you have any takes on it or any observations about it?

by "hereditary astrology" I mean stuff like family members all having strong mars influence, kids turning out to be a literal mix of the parents birth chart (like my personal case, for example) or a whole linage of detrimental venuses, you know, things like this. I personally enjoy a lot taking a look at my friends and their relatives' charts because I always find a pattern.

I actually see that a lot, including in my own family. I've never seen any traditional source talking about this, but yeah, I do believe it is a thing. The most common things I notice are sharing the same rising, or moon or sun sign; having the sun or the moon in the same sign as your parent's ascendant; for some reason also important planets in antiscia etc. I think it only makes sense, because your birth was probably an important transit on your parents' charts. It's always interesting to look at the timelords active for your parents during your birth and their solar returns. And I notice that these shared placements can kinda show which parent you take after. Like, if you share more placements with your mother, you'll probably look more like her than with your father.

Hello guys! I’ve noticed that usually astrologers don’t pay attention a lot on profection years in astrology and I thought I’d introduce this topic myself and share my observations and explanations on this.

So in astrology, every year of our life has a certain theme to it based on your age and based on what house your age “falls in” with that being said - here’s a chart of what age falls into each astrological house.

What can this indicate? Understanding the profection year you’re in can help you predict what type of year you’ll have ahead for you and some themes you can expect to happen. Annual Profections
