Guilty?? | Bokuto & Kuroo | Haikyuu!! | Tickle Fic
A/N: Okay now is probably the time to admit that I’m lowkey obsessed with Kuroo. The number of stupid ideas I have for him on the daily is absurd XD
Disclaimer: Swearing ig
Summary: Kuroo’s kneepads are missing and there’s no way he’s letting the thief get away with it. Bokuto, his number one suspect, is not going to let Kuroo get away with accusing him.
——————————————————
“Is that a threat?” Bokuto asked, narrowing his eyes at Kuroo from his place pressed against the gym wall. They were standing nearly chest to chest, with Kuroo glaring at him accusingly. Normally, he’d smirk right back in his face, but he was in a bit of a predicament right now. His breath was coming in more shallow as he tried to subtly pull back from the weight of a hand resting on his stomach. The warmth of it seeping through his thin shirt made it very hard to ignore.
“I don’t know, Bo,” he purred, using his extra centimeters to loom over Bokuto as much as he could. Then the ghosting at his abdomen squeezed and a gasp slipped out against his will, “Did you or did you not steal my knee pads?” Bokuto groaned and squinted at him, wondering if all of that hair was blocking his ears. His friend had been asking him the same question over and over until they’d come to be in this position. A little too vulnerable in Koutaro’s opinion.
“Ugh I already told you n-nahahaha!” His denial was immediately met with scribbling fingers exploring the sensitive skin around his navel. Bokuto jumped back into the wall giggling up a storm. Kuroo hummed and shook his head.
“Why are you making this so difficult?” He chastised, the words losing their effect with the smug grin on his face. Bokuto ached to wipe it off, but with one of his only hotspots being targeted so quickly, his coordination was suffering.
When he couldn’t force himself to actually move from his fruitless effort to protect his middle and grab Kuroo’s wrists, he decided to try to reason with him.
“Whihihiy wo- ehe would ihihi eheheven dohOHO thahahat?!” He cried indignantly. Kuroo rolled his eyes hard, adding his other hand in to lightly scratch at his waistline.
“Because you’re a sneaky bastard who loves to mess with me!”
“Dahah- doho nohohot!” He yelled, his laughter echoing through the space as he shook his head vigorously. So maybe that was a lie, but Kuroo had no grounds to accuse him or torture him like this!
Kuroo gave him a flat look and dug in a little harder at that, getting actual laughter from his friend. “You literally snuck into my room last night just to steal my snacks to piss me off,”
“I was just hungry! That doesn’t count!” Bokuto panted out as Kuroo stopped just long enough to untuck his shirt and shove his hands up it like the asshole he was. “AHAH Kurohoho!” The scribbling fingers were far more deadly against bare skin.
“Give them back!” He commanded, sending a new wave of tingles through him as he vibrated the hand placed higher. The contact points of his fingers sent the sensations out into the rest of his stomach, and the urge to double over struck Koutaro almost as hard as the stream of boisterous laughter pouring or of him, “I just got them to replace my old ones!”
Bokuto willed himself to focus in on his friend’s words rather than his hands. The way his nerves were lighting up and his body was freaking out was definitely not helping. He felt oddly betrayed as he spoke.
“The ones yOu lohost?” He cursed the way his voice trembled, but the urge to fall apart was getting steadily worse as Kuroo’s fingers drew closer to the center of his stomach.
“Yeah so?” Kuroo asked, his voice suspicious as his hands slowed a bit again to let him speak. Bokuto took the moment to scoff between gulps of air.
“You probably lost them again!” He blurted out, once again, not fully considering his answer. Kuroo scowled and suddenly his lower stomach was receiving some extra unwanted attention. The rapid squeezing drew out some crazed cackles, “Shihihit, ahAHA!”
Kuroo didn’t respond to the guess, focusing instead on how his technique was impacting Bokuto. Upon seeing that he wasn’t looking very apologetic, he went in for the kill.
Bokuto finally did double over when a finger slipped into his navel, the swirling motion sending him over the edge into loud hysterics. Kuroo examined his face as he weakly pushed at his hands, looking for something.
“AhahAH KUROHOHO STAHAP!”
Kuroo sighed, but complied, removing his hands and placing one on his hip as he contemplated the situation. “But I know I didn’t!” He insisted, continuing the conversation like nothing had happened. Even in his annoyed and out of breath state Bokuto could tell that he was truly puzzled. “I put them by my bag before I came to practice with you and Akaashi,” He bit his lip, looking around the gym again. The blocker was far too distracted to notice the way Koutaro was looking at him now that his breathing had returned to normal.
“Well that sucks,” He licked his lips and stood up, leaning forward slightly. Bokuto smirked, and when Kuroo turned back to him, he realized what was going to happen just seconds too late to stop it.
“Bo-“ Kuroo barely got the nickname out before the air was being punched out of him by Bokuto’s solid weight. He’d lunged hard enough to send them both tumbling to the floor, Bokuto landing on top of Kuroo, limbs splayed out awkwardly.
“This is gonna suck worse!” he exclaimed, shifting so his weight pinned Kuroo down by his hips. Kuroo groaned loudly and pushed at his shoulders. When that didn’t work he propped his legs up and tried to use them to move him.
“Bo, c’mon! Get off you’re heavy!”
“Nuh uh, this is revenge!” He replied, his hands finding the hem of Kuroo’s shirt. A flash of skin showed where it’d ridden up and Bokuto’s fingers traced it easily, gradually pushing the fabric up further with each horizontal pass. Kuroo, to his credit, only flinched, managing to hold in a squeak before his struggling increased.
“For what?!” He asked, his voice breaking slightly as he tried to twist his hips away, “I was just- Ahah!” The rest of Kuroo’s sentence was lost as Bokuto moved further up, exposing his navel. He’d wasted no time in returning the earlier favor, wiggling his finger around to his hearts content. Kuroo wasn’t as sensitive as Bokuto there by a long shot, but it was still enough to get him giggling. Especially when his other hand switched to actually crawling up his torso.
“For tickling me for no reason, asshole!” Koutaro answered, pouting at the memory for a second. Then his smirk returned. He’d finally made it up to his ribs and Kuroo was trying to buck him off now, gasps mixing in with his giggles as he tried to anticipate the spiker’s movements.
“You- fuhuhuck!” Kuroo tried to answer but was again cut off by Bokuto’s antics. Finding that squeezing his way up Tetsuro’s sides got him some wheezy cackles, Bokuto doubled his efforts by finally ceasing his torment on his belly button.
Maybe the blocker wasn’t as ticklish on his stomach, but anywhere near his armpits was just as bad, if not worse.
Kuroo flailed, his arms caught between slamming down and coming up to hopefully remove the offending hands. Bokuto chuckled. He was over his momentary annoyance now, so he could admit that watching his friend thrash was thoroughly amusing.
“I didn’t take them Kuroo,” he stated, leaning up to flutter at his neck to make him squeal.
“Ihihi- I don’t belieheheve you!” Kuroo insisted, resorting to squeezing Bokuto’s lower stomach. The guy jolted, falling back slightly. Only Kuroo’s legs, still up behind him, kept him from toppling off of him entirely.
“Whihihiy wouhould lihihi?” Bokuto asked. Laughter bubbled up in his chest again and he chose not to resist it this time. Instead he used his little remaining brain power and self control to continue his attack on Kuroo’s ribs, slipping up higher in response to a particularly well placed grab.
“I dohohon’t knohohow!” Kuroo giggled, looking annoyingly smug for his situation. He even dared to poke at Bokuto’s navel again. When Koutaro doubled over with a gasp, he slipped his hands higher in retaliation. Kuroo’s laughter jumped in volume and he crumbled, “SHIHIHIT NOHOT THEHEHERE!” His arms glued themselves to his sides and his back tried arched off the floor in a last ditch attempt to escape, “STAHAHAHAP!”
Bokuto breathed out a few residual giggles, granted reprieve by his opponent’s weakness, “You first!”
Bokuto grinned openly. Kuroo’s movements were growing clumsier and clumsier. The tingly feeling was mild enough for him to regain control, but for the Nekoma Captain, they were only getting worse the longer they went on, “Y-yohou- AHA!”
“What?” Bokuto teased, drilling into Kuroo’s underarms with practiced precision. His self-satisfied smile said it all. Kuroo couldn’t take this forever and despite his desperate squirming he wasn’t getting anywhere. Bokuto was going to win. Or had already won depending on who you asked.
“FIHIHIHINE!”
Bokuto stopped in an instant, taking one last look at his friend before rolling off of him. His face was fully flushed red and there were even tears in the corners of his eyes. Koutaro snickered as Kuroo got a hold of himself again, earning a shove that only made him laugh harder.
Tetsuro pouted, but didn’t move from his place beside him on the gym floor, presumably too exhausted to get away from his asshole of a rival. He sighed and closed his eyes instead, taking deep breaths to calm himself. After a few seconds, Bokuto broke the silence.
“I swear I didn’t take them bro,” he said, the statement’s honesty finally apparent to Kuroo. He sighed again, the sound far heavier this time. Then he opened his eyes to stare up at the gym ceiling. He didn’t have to look over to feel Bokuto’s eyes on him as he frowned.
“Then where the hell-?”
The gym doors flew open, the movement announced by a loud bang noise, and both Kuroo and Bokuto sat right up in surprise. Kuroo’s eyes narrowed in confusion when he saw that it was his own teammate standing there.
“Hey Kuroo-san! I put your knee-pads back in your bag,” he shouted before turning and leaving with just as loud of an exit. Bokuto blinked as the door shut behind the lanky student and silence fell over the gym again.
Then he turned to Kuroo.
“You let him borrow them?” He asked incredulously. After all that, he’d simply forgotten that he’d loaned them out?
“No,” Kuroo said, his tone freezing over as his gaze sharpened in tandem, “No, I did not,”
Bokuto shivered as the other captain stood up. He knew that look.
Suddenly he found himself feeling a little bad for the first year, having incurred Kuroo’s wrath like this.
“LEV! Get your tall-ass back here!”

Break Time! | Bokuto & Kuroo | Haikyuu!! | Tickle Fic
A/N: This is one of the fastest things I’ve ever written lol. I love Bokuto and Kuroo’s friendship a lot but this could be read as Bokuroo too.
Disclaimer: Includes swearing and minor spoilers for the timeskip (Kuroo’s future plans are vaguely mentioned)
Summary: Kuroo’s working himself to death with exam season on the horizon and Bokuto has just the idea to “help.”
——————————————————
Upon a third glance at Kuroo in just a few minutes, Bokuto had determined something was wrong. He could hear him sigh and shift in his seat from where he was sat on his bed. It wasn’t in the restless way that Bokuto was feeling right now though. It was a lot more tired. He narrowed his eyes at his friend, taking in his stiff posture and tense jaw. Rubbing his eyes with one hand Kuroo scrubbed an eraser across his paper with the other, the movement far harsher than necessary. He craned his neck to read something out of a textbook and his lips pressed into a thin line as he tried to comprehend it. The near silence in the room aside from his friend’s quiet frustration was honestly freaking Bokuto out.
When he’d shown up at the other captain’s front door, he’d been ready to go get food, screw around in his backyard, and maybe see an action movie or something. They’d planned this for weeks in advance —their schedules were both pretty packed— and as far as Bokuto knew they were both really looking forward to it. He’d prepared to just mess around and have some simple fun, so he was really surprised when Kuroo opened the door with a tight frown on his lips and not at all dressed for a day out.
“Bo?” Kuroo furrowed his eyebrows as his arms came up to cross over his chest, “what are you-“ Realization took over his features and after a few mumbled curses to himself, Kuroo opened the door further and let him in. The house was the same as Bokuto remembered it: Clean, but still clearly lived in. The mild clutter was charming in its own way and Bokuto had seen it when he’d visited his friend in the past. Kuroo himself was actually the only thing that seemed different.
His hair was messier than usual somehow and the beginnings of dark circles were smudged under his eyes. Instead of his usually clean and neat clothes, he was in a ratty white t-shirt and some old looking red sweats with “Nekoma” written down the sides in faded white block letters. It wasn’t just that though, all of his apologies and attempts at conversation also seemed off as he led Bokuto up the stairs to his room. Like his heart wasn’t really in it with his mind so preoccupied.
“Sorry man, I completely forgot, my bad it’s just-“ he cut himself off with a sigh as he heavily dropped into his desk chair. Bokuto felt overwhelmed just looking at the numerous stacks of heavy books lining the desk, so of course he hadn’t protested when his friend asked for another hour to finish up. He hadn’t been excited to sit and do nothing for an hour, but even he wasn’t going to complain when the usually cool and collected guy seemed so frazzled.
So after running back down to the kitchen to grab some snacks, he’d settled down on Kuroo’s bed to wait, scrolling aimlessly through his phone to try and quell his boredom and keep his restlessness at bay for a bit.
That, of course, didn’t work for long. After maybe 50 minutes —a new record!— he started stealing glances at Kuroo over his phone and as time continued to pass he became more and more concerned. He could practically feel the stress rolling off him in waves as he flipped through another workbook, so Bokuto did the only thing he could think to do at the moment, with what little information he had on whatever was happening; He messaged Kenma.
After tapping out a simple “whats wrong with Kuroo?” he’d set his phone down, not expecting much from it. Even though he barely contacted the guy on his own, Bokuto knew Kenma was terrible at responding to anyone who wasn’t Hinata. This obviously meant his chances of getting a reply before the day ended were slim. He practically jumped to grab his phone when it lit up again, only minutes after sending the message. Pretty damn fast for Kenma of all people.
From Kozume Kenma:
entrance exams. he’s been like that all week.
Ohhhhh. That made sense. Bokuto looked over at Kuroo again, as he glared down at his calculator, a new kind of disdain burning in his eyes. Bokuto hadn’t given the exams much thought honestly, but to Kuroo they surely mattered a lot.
When Kuroo told him that he was going to be quitting Volleyball once they graduated to pursue a career in the marketing side of things, Bokuto’d both understood completely and not gotten it at all.
He’d never really know how anyone could give up something that gave him such a thrill and brought him such joy. Sure, Nekoma wasn’t exactly a powerhouse school, but Kuroo was still a damn good blocker. He surely could’ve made it onto at least a division 2 team if he tried. Still, his friend was different. He wanted something else and that was okay. What wasn’t okay was the fact that he seemed set on working himself to death for it.
To Kozume Kenma:
k im gonna fix him
This time the reply was instantaneous. A simple “good luck” that felt suspiciously like Kenma doubting him. He scoffed, looking over at Kuroo again. The guy was probably even more tired than he looked. Koutaro could definitely take him in the messed up state he was in. Then again, he was incredibly stubborn when he wanted to be.
Bokuto glanced down at his phone. He’d already gone 20 minutes over the promised hour. That plus the whole week Kenma described had to be enough time for now. Going for that long without a real break sounded insane to Bokuto, and there was no way it was healthy either.
“Hey Kuroo,” Bokuto called, sitting up and grabbing his phone after sending a final text off to Kenma (An assortment of emojis portraying his confidence and competence at the given task). When his eyes fell on Kuroo, he hadn’t moved at the sound of his name.
“Kuroo?” He tried again. Still no response. It seemed the blocker was lost in his own world of textbooks and pages on pages of meticulous notes. Bokuto practically shuddered at the sight. He didn’t know how his friend could stare at all of that for so long.
Standing and taking a few steps away from the bed landed him right behind the desk chair. He frowned. Kuroo still hadn’t even noticed him moving around. Then he reached across the desk to retrieve a different colored pen and an idea popped into his head. Bokuto, always quite the impulsive person, followed it without question.
He quietly set his phone down on the opposite side of the desk to free his other hand and then reached out and jabbed him in the ribs on both sides. The action was instantly rewarded with a jolt and a squeak from Kuroo, a clatter from his pencil when it fell from his hand, and a loud triumphant laugh from Bokuto himself. Kuroo whipped around, scowling, “What the hell, man?”
“Your hour is way up bro,” Kuroo raised an eyebrow at him and scrambled for his phone. Once he found it beneath a large stack of colorful print outs, Bokuto saw the suspicion and slight annoyance in his eyes turn into guilt.
“Shit,” he turned to actually face him and Bokuto could see the way his shoulders sagged and his hands fidgeted in his lap in a very un-Kuroo-like fashion, “I’m sorry Bo,”
Koutaro gave him a bright smile in an extra effort to assuage his guilt, “It’s no problem, we can just go now!” He exclaimed, straightening and nodding at the door. Kuroo hesitated at that but before he could say anything, Bokuto’s phone chimed from its place on the desk. It lit up for both of them to see and Kuroo’s eyes narrowed in confusion.
“Why’s Kenma texting you?” He asked. A hint of his usual smirk flashed across his face as he peered at the deadpan emoticon, familiar and characteristic of his childhood friend. Bokuto bristled at the question. Why wouldn’t Kenma text him? Sure they weren’t exactly close, but Kuroo didn’t need to look so smug about it!
“I text a lot of people!” He replied, tucking his arms to his chest petulantly, “and you were busy,” he added before he could think better of it.
Kuroo immediately deflated at the reminder of his work. The glimmer of his usual playful self vanishing as he looked back over at his collection of practice booklets and papers and whatever else was strewn across his desk. Then he bit his cheek, and Bokuto knew he was going to argue before he even forced it out.
“Bo, I should probably keep going,” Kuroo frowned, his words almost pained, as if just the idea of going back to studying hurt him. That was what really solidified everything in Bokuto’s mind, “Maybe we can-“
“Nope,” Bokuto said succinctly before launching his attack with the overwhelming energy of a hyperactive athlete who’d just sat in one place for way too long. Kuroo squirmed in place as the spiker snuck a hand up his side. He was unable to stop from giggling already, too caught off guard by the suddenness.
“W-Whahahat the fuhuhuck, Bokuto?”
Bokuto shrugged and used his other hand to scribble at his neck. He made no effort to hide his shit eating grin when his friend squeaked in response, attempting to lean away in the chair, “You’ve been doing this for wayyyy to long,” he chuckled, grin only widening when the best defense Kuroo could muster was to slap at his wrists. Weak at best, but compared to his usual struggle, it was even more lackluster for the self proclaimed provocation master, “You can barely even fight back!”
“Shuhut uhuhup- Bohoho!” Kuroo’s volume went up in slight alarm. Bokuto grabbed onto his arm, using it to pull him out of his chair while simultaneously continuing his attack on his waist. Then he sent him falling back into his bed with a gentle shove, easily maneuvering him into a semi-pinned position with a practiced grace. Now with one of his arms held firmly away from his side, Tetsuro was feeling a lot more vulnerable. The shift was evidenced in the more frantic giggling as he tried to muster enough energy to pull away from Bokuto’s playful torment.
“Don’t worry, we can get you some barbecue! It’ll fix you right up!” Bokuto exclaimed, as if he wasn’t currently digging his wriggling fingers into Kuroo’s stomach to make him shriek louder. Still, he shook his head wildly.
“Ngh- ahahah ihihi- ihihihi neheheed to stuhuDy!” He tried, his voice shooting up an octave when Bokuto decided that the dips in his hip bones were a suitable place to grab and squeeze. Damn Bokuto and his stupidly extensive knowledge of this particular weakness.
“Mmm no,” Bokuto responded, slowing his fingers to fluttery circle to let the other captain breathe, “From what I hear you’ve already done way too much of that! It’s break time!” Kuroo took in the extra air greedily. As he did, he leveled his friend with an incredulous stare.
“How did you even-?” Kuroo started before his expression dropped and his eyes darkened in realization. His gaze went back up to Bokuto’s face where he was leaning over him curiously, “Kenma,”
“Yup,” Kotarou laughed boisterously and nodded his confirmation, “This is an intervention man,” The blocker scowled and started to say something that sounded like the word “traitor” but he was quickly cut off by his own hysterical giggling. The break was over, and Bokuto had decidedly shoved his hands higher to scratch at his friend’s ribs at the sign of continued resistance.
“He- aHA shihit! Hehehe’s lying!” Kuroo yelled through his laughter, desperately trying to catch Bokuto’s wrists as his hands seemed to continue crawling their way up his torso, “Lehehehet mehe uhuhup!”
Bokuto scoffed and smirked at his panicked movements, “Not a chance,” His hands didn’t pause for a second as they avoided Kuroo’s grasp. When they honed in on the space between his top two ribs he threw his head back with a helpless cackle. Bokuto had to bite down on a fond smile at the sound, “Now come on! Just say you’re gonna stop overworking yourself and come get food with your best friend!”
“KehenmahaAh’s my behest friehehend!” Kuroo jeered defiantly, apparently still sassy despite everything. Bokuto narrowed his eyes and dug into his ribs harder, making him throw his head back with the force of his laughter.
“Rude,” If Kuroo wasn’t so busy dying, he would’ve teased Kotarou for the childish pout on his face, “but fine, your second best friend,” he corrected laboriously, as if the Nekoma student was in any place to properly respond to him.
“Gahahahah yohou’re ridihiculous!”
“Blah blah blah, let’s go get food Kurooooo!”
“I hahave to- wahahait! No no no Bo DoHON’T!” The resounding screech that Kuroo let out when Bokuto’s fingers finally made contact with the soft skin of his underarms was priceless. He fell into a fit of insane laughter as the other captain watched proudly. His hyena laugh even made an appearance, sending Bokuto himself into manic giggling as he set about driving his friend crazy. “BWAHAHAHA NOHOHO NAHA BOHOHO!”
“What was that?” He teased watching as any final hope of escape fell away, leaving Kuroo a laughing mess. His hair was skewed all of the place along with his clothes that had ridden up in his struggles. His face was bright red, from embarrassment, laughter, or both Bokuto didn’t know, but it was entertaining any way. It was also comforting to see that even in his almost catatonic pre exam state, his friend was still capable of loosing himself in something as simple as tickling.
“FIHIHINE! FINE FINE FIHIHINE!” Kuroo screamed, giving up his pride at last. Anything was worth it at this point just to stop the sensations taking over his brain. All he could think of was the way Bokuto’s deft fingers were scribbling over his underarms and how no matter how he jerked or squirmed or squeezed his arms to his sides it just wouldn’t stop. He could never handle being tickled there long and Bokuto was taking full advantage of that information, “AHAH YOHOHOU- GahHAH YOU WIHIHIN DAMNIT JUHUHUST STAHAHAP!”
Bokuto shot up from the bed, stopping to throw his arms up in a cheer. His loud shout of “HEY HEY HEY!” in victory was lost on Kuroo though. He was too busy trying to catch his breath where he laid K.O.ed on his bed. Still, when Bokuto finished celebrating and turned back to him he looked better. Still tired, but significantly less stressed out of his mind.
Even as he punched him in the shoulder in revenge, his posture had relaxed and there was a wide grin left on his face. And as the last of his giggles faded away, Bokuto was inclined to believe that it was genuine.
“Come on bro, I wanna go check out the new Rec center by the park!” Bokuto yelled, earning a raised eyebrow from Kuroo as he moved around his room, picking out new clothes for their outing. He pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it into his laundry basket before turning to face him.
“I thought you said we were getting barbecue?” He asked, amusement coloring his tone as he picked up a new shirt. Bokuto smirked.
“Both,” he replied, squeezing Kuroo’s sides as he lifted his arms to put it on. He laughed loudly, batting his hands away and shaking his head.
“Ahaha enouhough!” He giggled, taking a few shaky breaths. Then his taunting tone returned at last, “As long as you’re paying man,” His usual smirk was now secured back in its place, for better or for worse.
Then he ducked into the bathroom just in time to avoid Bokuto’s distressed groan. Rest In Peace his wallet.
Still though, he was admittedly happy that Kuroo was back to normal, even if that meant that he was back to being a stingy jerk.

Pretty | SakuAtsu | Haikyuu!! | Tickle Fic
A/N: Ok hi so I wrote this a little while ago bc my SakuAtsu brainrot never stops and I figured I might as well share it. This is my first time posting a T-fic so please be kind lol. Also, sorry if the formatting is a mess I am on my phone.
Disclaimer: This takes place post timeskip so minor spoilers for Haikyuu! It’s nothing to major other than some vague things mentioned in passing. Also includes swearing and centers around tickling within a romantic setting (all sfw).
Summary: Sakusa’s stubborn as hell, but Atsumu is more than willing to get his boyfriend to go to sleep by whatever means necessary. Especially if that means he gets to see that pretty smile of his.
——————————————————
“Ya know, yer hair is really soft Omi,” Atsumu said, breaking the calm silence that had settled over the room. It was actually Kiyoomi’s room in his apartment this time. Atsumu was lying on his bed, running his hands through Kiyoomi’s dark curls as the other man laid across the bed, head placed conveniently in the setter’s lap as he attempted to read a book. He was far too tired to do so, in Atsumu’s professional opinion. The way his eyes kept falling shut for longer between blinks and how his grip on the hardcover kept shifting until he was barely holding it open where it lay against his propped up legs supported it too.
“You already- said that,” he replied, trying for flat and uninterested but the cute yawn that interrupted his sentence completely contradicted his unbothered persona.
It’d been a long practice for everyone, but especially the spikers. Both Bokuto and Sakusa had to run an insane amount of cut shot drills on top of their usual work. Just watching it had made Atsumu tired, so he could only imagine how Omi was feeling. The man had been practically dead on his feet when they’d gotten back to their complex, so the way he had melted into their bed upon finally brushing his teeth was unsurprising. His attempts at staying up were though. Atsumu blamed that on his insistence on keeping his routine no matter what.
The stubborn bastard could barely keep his eyes open, but sure, making it through a whole chapter of that thick ass book was totally plausible.
“It’s true though,” Atsumu was quiet for a moment and then, when he got no response he added on, “and it’s so pretty too,” For that he received a half hearted glare that was dampened by the way he could feel the man leaning into his touch as his fingertips scratched lightly again his scalp. The twin smiled, his boyfriend really lost his filter when he was this tired.
Gone were the biting remarks and cold expressions, leaving him far more pliant than he would ever admit to. Hell, here he was, letting Atsumu play with his hair and letting out little sighs of contentment. His eyes were even gradually falling closed as he relaxed into his boyfriend’s touch.
The harsh lines of his face were softened by the low light in the bed room, and with his brows uncreased by any worries and his hair pooled around his head like a dark halo, he looked almost angelic. Like something out of one of those fancy paintings.
“Yer so pretty Omi,” Atsumu murmured absently, the words falling from his lips easily. It was a statement to him. A simple truth of life.
The sky was blue, volleyball was the best, and Atsumu’s boyfriend was a damn masterpiece.
This was only proved further when his cheeks began to warm, the pink flush only complimenting smooth skin and pouty lips, twitching down into a petulant frown despite his flustered state.
“Shut it,” he mumbled in reply, unable to come up with a proper comeback in his half asleep state. Atsumu smirked. Another thing he loved about sleepy Omi was his inability to disguise any of his reactions. It always made messing him even more fun.
“Omiiii, Yer so cute m’gonna dieeeeee,” he teased, leaning down to admire his expression more closely. The new angle let him see the minuscule twitch of the corner of his lips, a sign that his adorable boyfriend wasn’t really as grumpy as he was trying to appear, “Aw is that a smile I see?” Said boyfriend had abandoned all hopes of reading his book in favor of moving off of Atsumu’s lap and onto his side of the bed, laying back and closing his eyes.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about Atsumu,” he stated, his voice still managing to stay level and unaffected, a true testament to Sakusa’s insane amount of self control, “Now its late, let’s go to sleep,” Too bad Atsumu was too much of an asshole to let him be. And, he knew him well enough to chip away at that carefully crafted mask until his boyfriend was puddy in his hands.
Miya pouted and moved closer, letting his right hand come back up to rest in his curls again and the other land at his back, rubbing slow circles into it the way he knew Sakusa liked.
“Oh c’mon baby don’t be like that, I just want ta see that gorgeous smile of yers,” he let his chin rest on Kiyoomi’s shoulder, pressing close to his back as his arm trailed down to wrap around his waist. He placed a light kiss against his boyfriend’s temple. The first in a trail that led down his cheek to his jaw and then took a detour down and up his neck to reach his ear again, earning soft sighs and hums as he went. Atsumu smiled, his Omi really was sweet like this: All peaceful and relaxed and unassuming, “Do me a favor and lemme see it?”
He shifted from kissing at his neck to mouthing lightly and letting his lips graze the expanse of soft pale skin at his disposal and the reaction was immediate, even if Sakusa tried to hide it. Sure, he stayed quiet, but Atsumu could feel the shivers that ran through him when he started and how his shoulders began to shake the longer he went on. He felt him jump when he let the fingers at his waist trace lazy shape into his toned stomach.
“Atsumu-“ His name was rushed out in a breathy way that only Atsumu got to hear.
“Yes Omi?” He purred, directly into his boyfriends ear, savoring the little squeak that came from the man shaking in his arms.
“N-no,” he whined, actually whined, shaking his head in an attempt to rid himself of the tingly sensations that were quickly perforating his sleep addled mind and making him want to give into the bouncy feeling rising in his chest.
“Why not Omi? M’just tryin ta kiss ya?” He followed his movements easily, continuing the playful torment of his boyfriend.
“You- you know exActly whehy not!” The squeak was louder this time and Kiyoomi even let a few titters loose as Atsumu started using his other hand to lightly scribble at the other side of his neck while simultaneously blowing into his ear.
“Ooh was that a giggle there Omi? What’s happenin’ baby? Somethin’ funny?” Atsumu knew that if he could, Sakusa would be griping about the teasing and how this whole thing was immature and unfair. For now though, he was too busy trying (and failing) not to devolve into a ticklish mess, so Miya was content.
“Nahaha stahahap yohuhu bahahastard!” He forced out through his giggles. The sound was light and filled with gasping breathes and squeals. Kiyoomi hated it, but it was one of Atsumu’s favorite sounds. Especially when he knew he was the cause of it.
Whether it came from unraveling him like this or timing a sarcastic joke just right, he savored it each time he got to hear it, so he didn’t appreciate it when both ungloved hands flew up to muffle it.
“Hey what’dya do that for?” He asked, his own pout forming on his lips as he leaned up to see his boyfriend’s face. His eyes were squeezed shut again and the flush was even brighter now. What was really captivating though, was the way his whole face seemed to brighten, even with his open mouth smile covered up.
Atsumu couldn’t help but stop and stare for a few seconds before remembering the task at hand. To see that pretty smile for real.
“C’mon Omi, just pull yer hands away or m’gonna haveta resort to extreme measures,” Atsumu increased his effort at leaving barely there kisses along Kiyoomi’s neck, feeling his heart race against his lips when he reached the pulse point. This got a cacophony of muffled squeaks and giggles before he finally gave into instinct and moved one of his hands away to push at his face.
As soon as it came up, Atsumu saw his chance and took it.
The hand that was drawing shivery patterns over sharp hip bones immediately skittered up Sakusa’s side to find its mark just above his ribs, sending the arm crashing right back down with a muffled shriek.
“Pffft phmp uff,” Came the dampened response as the other hand stayed stubborn in its quest to deprive Atsumu of his happiness. He decided to take it up another notch, because despite his tiredness, his Omi-Omi was still able to put up a good fight. He wouldn’t have him any other way: As headstrong as he was talented.
“Fine, don’t say I didn’t warn ya,” Atsumu leaned back just enough to leave some space between himself and Kiyoomi’s back. For insurance and safety purposes, he threw a leg over his waist to make sure he would fall off the bed.
Then all bets were off.
He started actually scratching at his armpits in tandem with leaving sloppy kisses along his spine and shoulder blades and any other part of his back he could reach at the moment, and the reaction was instantaneous and oh so satisfying.
“Mmmmphhhuhuhuck AtsuhuHU! NaHAHA STAHAP!”
“What babe? Somethin’ wrong?” He made sure to speak against the skin of his back, his words sending ticklish tremors through Kiyoomi as his worst spot was attacked.
“NOHOHOT THEHERE AHATSUHU!” Something seemed to switch off in his brain as his arms finally fell limp at his sides and he threw his head back against the pillows, laughing fully now. When they did, Atsumu immediately toned it down, abandoning his underarm in favor of leaving feather light scratches down the sides of his boyfriend’s back, making him shiver and keeping him caught up in his giggles without torturing him too bad.
Omi could never say that he was anything but nice about this....Well at least at this particular moment. Sakusa definitely kept a dated list of the times that his boyfriend had ruthlessly abused this specific weakness, but that was besides the point.
“Ahatsuhuhu,” Atsumu looked up at the sound of his name falling from upturned lips and found himself mesmerized by the sight.
Now that Kiyoomi had given up on stopping him he’d shifted to flop down on his stomach, bracing his head on his arms as he tried to contain the shaky laughter still spilling easily from his mouth. His hair was tousled from the struggle and his eyes were teary from laughing so hard and he was in an eternal state of flushed and fuck he was beautiful.
Too pretty for his own good. And Atsumu’s. At this rate, he was gonna die before he got to the Olympics.
He could just see it now: Miya Atsumu, beloved son, brother, boyfriend, and teammate. Cause of death: Seeing his godlike boyfriend laugh his heart out.
Shit, ‘Samu was right, he was whipped.
“Tsuhuhuhumuuu, m’tired,” Whiny giggles followed by a familiar yawn brought him out of his thoughts and he let his fingers slow to a stop, moving up in the bed to be beside his still giggling boyfriend. He turned him over onto his back before placing his book onto the nights stand and turning out the light.
“A-asshole,” Sakusa groaned, through breathy pants, giving him a half-hearted shove as he turned to face the blonde.
“But ya love me,” he teased moving in closer to lay his head on the dark haired man’s chest, listening patiently as his heartbeat finally started to slow down.
“You suck,” he murmured in response, his tone empty of any real malice. Plus, the way he was snuggling closer and lacing their hands together across Atsumu’s waist contradicted his words anyway.
Atsumu smiled and took a final look at his boyfriend before closing his eyes to follow him into sleep. And as a man of a limited vocabulary when it came to most things other than volleyball, his last thoughts prior to drifting off were as simple as they were true: Omi’s so pretty.
