A female red-shouldered hawk is significantly larger than a male, with females averaging a longer body length, greater wingspan, and heavier weight; typically, a female red-shouldered hawk will be around 19-24 inches long and weigh 1.5 pounds, while a male will be 17-23 inches long and weigh 1.2 pounds.
