Echeveria. I've kept this one looking natural and also I should water it more.

Thelocactus macdowellii
February is early in the year for cactus flowers, but Thelocactus macdowellii is an eager beaver and has decided to go for it. This very spiny round-headed cactus comes from northeastern Mexico, where it has a small distribution.

Cephalophyllum sp. (Wolfkloof)
I shared photos of this plant a few weeks ago, but it has looked even better since then, so I am showing it again. I had stated that it came from the Robertson Karoo, but I have learned that there is more than one place called "Wolfkloof", so I must do more research to find out just where it is from. In any case, the genus Cephalophyllum belongs to the Ice Plant Family (Aizoaceae), and they are found mostly in the winter-rainfall region in the western part of South Africa. February is the peak flowering time in the Northern Hemisphere for many of the species (in their South African home, it would be at the opposite time of the year).

African violet '8E-Danse Macabre'
The development of this African violet chimera has been quite a whirlwind! When I first bought it, its color was pretty spotty and didn't look like a proper chimera (it did not have any consistent streaks of purple or pink). I messaged the seller, and she told me that chimeras need bright light (preferably LED), but I don't have those so I just moved mine to a place with more sunlight. This is the third time it has flowered and so far this is the best one yet! As you can see the pink is still a little freckled, but I would probably need near perfect conditions to make it grow pure. Still, I am happy with the flowers this time around and hope that its next blooming will have a lot more.
