~~—~~—~~—~~
You woke up with Sanji still sleeping. You looked at the vlock and sighed. 9:34AM. You looked over to Nami’s bed, who wasn’t there anymore.
“Great.” You looked back to Sanji and shook him gently. He grabbed you and pulled you closer to him. “Five. more minutes love.” He mumbled while he put his head in the crook of your neck.
“Sanji, it’s 9:30, Don’t you have to prepare food or something?” You whispered. He shook his head. “They’ll be fine eating the scraps from yesterday my love.” He barely whispered back, trying to stay awake.
You smiled to yourself and nodded. You closed your eyes again until you heard some whispers from outside your room. You sighed and turned around. Sanji groaned and lied on his back. You put your head on his chest and looked up at Sanji, who was now awake. “Nami’s probably told everyone that I’m in your bed.” Sanji said closing his eyes again.
Nami walked inside and quickly closed the door behind her. “Good morning lovebirds! How was your sleep?” She said happily. “It was okay until we heard you guys whisper outside.” Sanji said a little bit irritated, looking at Nami and sitting up, causing you to sit up as well.
You stretched and got out of bed, climbing over Sanji in the process. “Watch it love.” Sanji mumbled as you looked down to see his growing problem. “Oops, sorry.” You whispered, now slightly blushing.
You were walking to your closet as Nami looked at Sanji.
“The reason I came in here was to tell you that the boys are, as they are saying it, still starving, after eating the remainder of yesterday’s meal Sanji. ” Nami said, gesturing he should get up. “I’ll be there in ten minutes okay?” Sanji asked while Nami walked back over to the door. “Okay, ten minutes is the max though, I will get you after that.” Sanji nodded and Nami left.
You grabbed some clothes and looked over at Sanji who was looking at you. “Well get up then lazy ass.” You teased him. He laughed and walked over to you. “Where were we?” Sanji put one hand on your waist while he looked at you lovingly.
“We were cuddling in bed but that’s not happening anymore.” You smiled putting your arms around his neck. His hands made their way to your face and held your face lovingly, his hands warm and big on your skin. He leaned in and you smiled as you felt the butterflies in your stomach went wild. The kiss was deep and so unbelievably pure, it punched the breath from your lunges the second your lips connected.
You sighed into him because the moment felt so right, so perfect. You felt yourself smile as he brushed his tongue over your bottom lip.
one of your hands ended up tugging at his hair, making him moan against your lips. He smiled and pulled you closer, if that was even possible.
“Sanji.” you whimpered when his thigh made its way between your legs. You were really taken aback from this but Sanji made you feel so good.
You ground down on his legs in rhythmic motions, trying to contain the moans. He pushed his leg higher, really enjoying all the cute little sounds that came from your lips and the very knowledge he was the one making sure you felt that good.
Sanji almost came undone from this alone, knowing he was the one making you feel this amazing.
But still, it wasn't enough. “Sanji, maybe we should continue this later.” You whispered, kissing his neck and jawline. He sighed and pulled his leg back, slightly. “I hate it when you’re right.” He sighed as he kissed you once more as he played with your tshirt. You smiled into the kiss and that made him smile too, causing him to deepen the kiss once again.
There was a knock at the door which made you both jump. “I’ll be there in a second!” Sanji yelled quickly, letting go of you, grabbing his clothes and putting it on. You changed too into a hoodie and jeans and looked at him. He was tying his tie and you smiled at him, walking over and making sure he looked perfect, fixing his tie and hair in the process.
He smiled and looked at you. “Thank you my love.” He said sweetly as he gave you a hug and a quick kiss after that.
He let you go and walked towards the door. “I’ll see you in a second?” He asked while smiling broadly and you nodded. He walked over to the door as you quickly stopped him. “One more kiss won’t hurt.” You quietly said while giving him one more kiss before sending him away.
He exited your room and you smiled. You cleaned up the room a little and did your makeup.
~~—~~—~~—~~
As you entered the kitchen you could see everyone enjoying their food. You smiled at Sanji and took a seat next to Ussop. “How was your sleep?” Ussop asked you while he was wiggling his eyebrows. “It was good, thank you for asking.” You smiled politely. He just smirked and continued eating.
You sat there, quietly eating your breakfast and listening to the plans that everyone made while you were still docked.
“What about you y/n? What are your plans today?” Luffy asked you with a full mouth. You laughed before answering. “Well I think I’m going to wander around a bit, see what this place has to offer, maybe shop a little.” Nami smiled and nodded. “We could go together?” I smiled brightly. “You can always join me Nami, would be very nice!”
“We’re going to continue our adventure tomorrow morning, so enjoy today!” Luffy excitedly yelled. Everyone nodded and parted their ways.
—~~—~~—~~—
Nami and you were walking through the busy streets and looked around. “Let’s go clothes shopping! I’m desperately in need of new clothes and maybe shoes even!” You almost yelled out of excitement. Nami laughed and followed your lead.
After telling Nami everything that has happened, except for a few parts you rather keep a secret for now and walking into a few stores, not really finding anything, you saw this beautiful little shop. You grabbed Nami’s hand and guided her through the crowd into the store.
You were never a dress person but when your eyes laid on the prettiest, most gorgeous dress you walker over to it. “It is my size!-“ you whispered excitedly to yourself. “175 berries..” You whispered sadly. “I can’t afford something like that.” You mumbled before you sighed and turned around, seeing Nami there, crossing her arms and looking at you. “What did you find?” She tried to see what you were looking at, but failed. “Nothing special, just a dress.” You silently replied.
Nami carefully pushed you aside as she laid her eyes on the dress you fell in love with. “Let me handle this.” Nami said before putting on a fake smile and walked over to the lady who worked there.
You didn’t want to see what she was gonna do so you acted like you were looking around.
You couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying, only that Nami was acting sad. You smiled to yourself and looked around. She came back after a few minutes and had a big smile on her face. “Okay so It’s now 50 berries.” She laughed silently as you walked to the counter.
The lady looked at you and smiled brightly. “Hope he treats you well and I hope you two will have a great time.” She smiled and scanned the dress. You quickly thanked her and paid.
You followed Nami out of the store before hitting her on her arm. “What did you say!” You whisper/yelled. Nami laughed and looked over at you before she started to walk away. You quickly followed her and she started explaining. “Well I might have said something about you having your first date and not having money for a dress.” She laughed. “Nami! I can’t believe you, but anyways thank you. It was very sweet you trying to get a discount.” Nami laughed and you two continued wandering around.
—~~—~~—~~—
Nami and you both found some other clothes and even a pair of shoes. After a few hours of walking around, your legs started to hurt. It was a 15 minute walk back and you sighed happily. “I had and still have a great time today.” Nami smiled back. “Me too, the boys are a bit much at times, most times actually.” Nami laughed.
As you walked back to the ship you could see that everyone was doing their own thing. Luffy and Ussop were playing some kind of cardgame, Zoro was ‘resting’ which ment sleeping, lastly Sanji who was smoking a cigarette already smiling and waving towards the two of you.
“Just in time, I gathered special ingredients for dinner tonight and I was just getting ready to start cooking.” Sanji happily explained, while walking over to help you two on the ship. “Don’t fall y/n” Nami laughed looking over at you and Sanji. “One time and then never again right?” You joked back, grabbing Sanji’s hand with your only free hand and getting on the ship. Nami followed your lead as she also got onto the ship. “Thanks Sanji.” Nami said before walking over to your shared room.
“Got anything special my love?” Sanji asked while trying to peek into the bags you were holding. “Nope, regular stuff, nothing special.” You smiled as you walked past him towards your room. Sanji laughed. “Yeah right.” He yelled back before making his way towards the kitchen.
After putting everything away and getting changed into something more comfortable. You had night duty tonight so you made sure you were warm as well. You grabbed an extra hoodie and made your way to the kitchen.
“Hey Sanji.” You smiled as you walked in the kitchen and only saw him. He smiled back. “Hello my love, how are you?” He washed his hands before making his way over to you. “I’m alright, Night duty today so mentally preparing for that.” You laughed as you gave him a long hug, both slowly swinging from left to right. “Are you going to be alright? It’s going to be cold tonight.” Sanji concernedly asked you. “Yeah I’ll be alright.” You smiled slightly as you closed your eyes, taking in his cologne and cigarette smoke.
“I can take over the night shift?” Sanji asked you as he let go of you. You smiled and shook your head. “No Sanji, I’m not gonna let you do it.”
“Let me join you then, keep you company.” Sanji looked at you lovingly. He already made up his mind and he wasn’t going to let you be on your own the whole night.
“You can join me if you want too, but only if you want.” You sternly looked at him. He laughed and took a step towards you. “Of course I want too, otherwise I wouldn’t have said anything, right mademoiselle?” He gave you a quick kiss as he went back to his working station.
“Take a seat love, dinner is almost ready.”
—~~—~~—~~—
Dinner went really smoothly. everyone finished really quick snd everyone made themselves ready to go out on their final night before heading out tomorrow morning. You had night duty which meant you couldn’t do that but that also meant you could go to bed after breakfast and sleep a bit, which made you feel a little bit better.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go out tonight Sanji?” You asked him one final time. It was just Sanji and you in the kitchen. He walked over and placed both hands on your hips. “There is nothing i’d rather do mi amore.” You blushed at the nickname he gave you. You nodded and grabbed his hand. Everyone already left and Sanji smiled. “After you.” He kindly said before you made your way up to the crow-nest.
You sat down when you arrived at the top of the crow nest. You had already placed a few blankets, in case it was going to be colder than it already was.
Sanji came up only seconds after you and closed the hatch. He sat down next to you and grabbed a blanket. He placed the blanket over his legs and over yours as well. You smiled and looked at him. “Thank you Sanji, you are too kind.” His cheeks turned a slight pink as he shook his head. “The pleasure is all mine mademoiselle.” He said lovingly as he grabbed a cigarette for the both of you and lit them casually at the same time. “Here you go my love.” He said as he exhaled while looking up.

~~—~~—~~—~~
Nami and you excused yourself from the group and decided to go back to the ship and have another drink there, talking about what you saw earlier. Zoro looked at you confused but nodded. “If there is anything, you come and get me okay?” Zoro said and you smiled slightly. “Thank you Zoro.”
As you walked outside you saw the girl looking at you, with a sad look on her face. You turned back to Nami who was holding the door for you.
“There must be a reason he’s with her.” Nami said while closing the door behind you two.
“Yeah, let’s hope. I haven’t really been the nicest to him though.” You said, trying to hold back your tears.
“Hey don’t cry. I’ll ask him when he gets back. Maybe it’s all a misunderstanding.” Nami reassured you.
You nodded and sighed deeply. “I think I fucked it up Nami. Maybe he didn’t like kissing me and he went to her as a backup plan.” You looked at the ground as your eyes swelled with tears.
“I don’t think that would be the case y/n. For now, try not to think about it that much. We’re gonna go back to the ship, have a drink and enjoy ourselves okay?” Nami smiled while grabbing your hand and guiding you to the ship.
~~—BACK AT THE BAR (Before Y/N and Nami left);—~~
As y/n left Sanji, he didn’t know what to think. Sanji touched his lips as y/n entered the bar again. He sighed really loudly as he lit another cigarette. Sanji felt like crying but tried to keep it to himself for now. He threw his cigarette away after taking only a few hits and walked back inside.
Sanji walked straight to the bar and ordered a beer. “Thank you.” He said while he paid for it. He took a few swigs as someone put a hand on his shoulder. Sanji secretly hoped it would be the lovely miss y/l/n, but it was the shop owner from before. “What do you need?” Sanji managed to get out.
“You seem upset, what happened?” She asked.
“You happened. You ruined the chance I had with the love of my life. Now she probably doesn’t want to see me anymore.” Sanji said dramatically while wiping away a tear.
“Sit with me?” She asked while she grabbed his hand. Sanji sighed but followed her. He sat next to her and explained everything that happened. How he started to like her and about the kiss and everything around that.
She completely changed from flirting to actually trying to help. “I can talk to her and say that it’s all a big misunderstanding?” She asked while she rubbed his back, trying to comfort Sanji.
“No it’s best if I do that, explain everything. But I need to sober up first.” Sanji explained, chugging the whole beer and putting the glass away.
“I’m gonna get some water, you want anything love?” Sanji asked the shop owner. “No thank you, I still have some.” She smiled sweetly as Sanji excused himself to get water.
When he returned to the table he started to talk about the whole scenario once again. “When I’m sober, I’ll find her and talk to her.” Sanji kept repeating, while drinking his water.
He wasn’t interested in the girl he was sitting next to. He wanted it to be y/n. He looked up to scan the bar for you but you were nowhere to be found. He sighed once again and placed his head in his hands.
The shop owner saw you and Nami exit the toilets as you froze. She didn’t want to upset you and Sanji more than you already were so she ignored it for now. She saw you two storming off and once you two left she told Sanji.
“I think she just left honey.” She sighed as Sanji looked outside to see Nami and you walking away. Sanji was now crying. “Maybe this all was a mistake.” Sanji sighed as he looked at the girl.
“Thank you for listening, I’m going back to my friends.” Sanji quickly said, grabbing his water and leaving the girl alone while quickly wiping away the rest of his tears.
“Sanji there you are!” Luffy yelled excitedly as he saw Sanji approach. Sanji smiled and sat down next to Ussop.
“Where are the girls?” Sanji asked, hoping they didn’t leave.
“Back at the ship by now.” Zoro mumbled as he took another sip from his nearly finished beer. “Did they say why they left?” Sanji asked.
“They weren’t feeling well, probably drank too much.” Luffy laughed. Sanji nodded and drank the rest of his water. “I’ll check up on them, see if they need anything.” Sanji smiled politely. Zoro glanced at Sanji but decided to keep his thoughts to himself, for now at least.
~~—BACK AT THE SHIP;—~~
Nami helped you calm down and grabbed a drink for the both of you, from Zoro’s stock of course.
You were lying down at the upper deck, stargazing, wirh nami lying next to you. You grabbed a cigarette and lit it before taking a hit.
“Is it okay for me to smoke a cigarette?” You quickly asked Nami, who just laughed and nodded.
“You already lit it so enjoy it.” She smiled.
You both started to chat a little when you heard some footsteps approaching.
Nami and you lied there silently as you were both listening to who it could be. You heard a lighter and knew immediately it would be Sanji. Nami looked at you and sighed silently.
“We’ll give him some time to gather his thoughts and then I’lll talk to him.” Nami whispered to you. You just nodded and listened. You heard him entering the ship, hearing a door open and close. You both sat up and Nami smiled.
Nami and you gave him a few minutes before looking over at you, once again.
“Nothing that can’t be explained right?” Nami smiled soflty. “You go to our room and I’ll tell you what happened when I get back.” Nami was now standing, slowly exiting the upper deck to find Sanji.
This was your sign to make your way to your shared room. You entered the room, gathered stuff to take a shower and made your way to the showers.
You turned on the shower as you stripped yourself from your clothes. You threw them onto the already growing pile of dirty clothes. You took off your makeup before stepping in the shower.
You washed your hair and tried to relax a little bit. The shower seemed to help as you were starting to forget what happened earlier. You were humming a few songs as you stepped out of the shower, drying your hair and got dressed into some oversized shirt and a boxershort.
As you excited the shower you saw Nami exit the kitchen. She smiled as she pointed inside. “Your turn.”
You stood there, frozen. “Absolutely not, Definitely not dressed like this.” You quickly said while you turned around, but it was already to late. Nami grabbed your arm and dragged you to the kitchen door. “It will be all right. I don’t think he cares, Just listen to him.” Nami reassured you.
“Nami I thought you were gonna explain it to me before you force me to talk to him.” You whispered/shouted.
“Yeah and I’ve changed my mind. Just go in.” She said a little bit irritated.
“No I’m not going in ther-Nami!” You yelled as she pushed you into the kitchen, closing the door behind you.
You looked up and saw Sanji. He took off his blazer and tie and unbuttoned a few buttons of his shirt. His hair was messy. There were cigarette buds everywhere and it looked like he had been crying.
He looked up and you felt terrible. You were the one responsible for this, If you just had listened to him instead of leaving him after he kissed you, this wouldn’t have happened.
“Hey Sanji.” You mumbled as you sat down on a chair.
“Hello love, looking good.” He said with a raspy voice. He really looked like a mess but you thought he also looked kinds hot, except for his red and puffy eyes of course.
You stood up and walked over to him. He froze in place, expecting you to hit him. You hugged him while you tried not to cry. “Thank you Sanji. I’m so sorry that I didn’t listen. I’m sorry I left you out there alone.” You mumbled into his chest.
He still wasn’t hugging you back so you looked up at him. He was holding back his tears as best as he could but it wasn’t working. You let go of him and he sighed. You were about to take a step back as he pulled you back into a hug.
“It’s all a misunderstanding Mi Amore. I was confused after you left me alone outside, so I went in to get a beer, that’s when the shop owner came to me. She asked what was wrong and asked me if I wanted to sit with her while I explained everything, so I did.-“ He started to get explain, while hugging you tightly. “At first I hoped it to be you, but you were nowhere to be found. The girl told me you left, because I didn’t see you leave. I wanted to sober up before talking to you, but that didn’t quite happen.” He said softly, while pointing to the empty wine bottels and a glass spread around the counter.
“Nami told me what happened, on your side.” He whispered. You looked up at him and he was already looking at you. You sighed and looked away, you felt your cheeks brighten by the second.
“I understand where you come from love, but I would never ever forget something like that, I wanted to kiss you for a long time now.” He admitted while loosening his grip on you. You let go of him and took a step back. You quickly grabbed a few napkins as you wiped away his tears. You didn’t say anything and just smiled softly.
“As I said earlier, I’m sorry Sanji.” You said softly after a little while. You took another step back and looked at him one more time. He was now slightly blushing at how close you were standing and with nothing more than a shirt and boxers.
He looked at you and smiled. “It’s okay my love. I’m happy we could talk about it before going to bed.” He said lighting another cigarette. There was no tention between the two of you, but you could see there was still something on Sanji’s mind.
You laughed softly, while leaning against the counter behind you. “My mom and dad used to say something like that too.-“ You started. He looked at you and you continued. “If we ever had an argument with someone, for example my dad. We could talk it out before bed because we had one rule. Never go to bed angry. I guess some things never change.” You chuckled as you turned around and started cleaning the counter.
Sanji just looked at you as you were cleaning. If he wasn’t as drunk as he was now, he would’ve asked you to stay with him tonight, in his hammock.
You could see that Sanji was still thinking about something as you waved your hand in front of his face after everything wad cleaned. “What’s on your mind Sanji?” You asked him. He turned bright red as he shook his head. “Nothing important.” He smiled lazily.
“You should go to bed love.” You said while you guided him to his room. He grabbed your hand as he followed you, secretly hoping you would stay, but he wasn’t gonna ask.
You opened the door to the boys room and you went inside, closing the door behind Sanji. “Are you gonna be alright?” You asked him. He looked at you and sighed. “I will be once I sober up a little more.” He laughed soflty. He didn’t wait for you to leave the room as he started to undress.
Normally you would excuse yourself as fast as you possibly could, but now you just needed to make sure he was okay. “Where are your pyjama’s?” You asked while looking through his stuff. “Don’t need them baby.” Sanji mumbled as he stood there in only his underwear. He got into the hammock, and put his blanket over him.
Your eyes widen as you looked at him. Sanji called you baby and you didn’t mind on bit. You went to his hammock and tucked him in. “If there is anything, let me know okay?” You smiled as he nodded. “You can just come into the room and wake me up, but be careful not to wake Nami up.” You warned him.
He nodded and closed his eyes, sighing. “Thank you baby. For taking care of me after everything.” You blushed slightly. “Always Sanji.” You left his room and quickly stopped by the kitchen again. You grabbed some painkillers and a bottle of water. You silently went back into the boys’ room again as you saw him, already asleep. You placed the painkillers and bottle on his little makeshift nightstand and quickly gave him a kiss on his forehead. “Goodnight love.” You whispered as you now went back to your shared room.
Nami left the door slightly open and as you went inside, you could see that she was already asleep. You smiled, knowing you don’t have to explain what happened until the morning.
You got into bed and closed your eyes, drifting to sleep.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You were woken up by Sanji who was at the end of your bed, wearing nothing more than a robe and underwear. “You told me it was okay to wake you up if there was anything.” Sanji whispered. You smiled sleepily. “Yeah, what’s up?” You whispered back. He looked at the ground and sighed. “Woke up some time ago but couldn’t fall back asleep, so I was wondering if you had some space left over so I could join you?” He was holding the painkillers, bottle and some clothes. You chuckled at the sight but nodded.
“All right then.” You moved a bit towards the wall, making extra space for Sanji, who put away the stuff that he was holding and gladly joined you. He hung up his robe and joined you in your bed. He immediately sighed and looked at you. “Can we cuddle?” Sanji asked hopefully.
“I thought you would never ask.” You replied sheepishly while you laid against him. He spooned you and sighed deeply. He gave you a kiss on the back of your head and smiled to himself. “Just returning the favor.” He mumbled before faling asleep.
You on the other hand, were slightly panicking. Sanji sleeping AND cuddling you? That was something you didn’t ever see happening. Also him noticing the kiss you gave him earlier, you should’ve known. Yet you were really comfortable and you took a deep breath. You smiled to yourself as you drifted to sleep once more.

~~—~~—~~—~~
You woke up pretty early the next morning, completely ready for the day. Today was the day that you were finally going to an island and have some fun. You quickly got ready, combed your hair, put on some light makeup and made your way to the kitchen.
You smiled as you saw Sanji preparing breakfast and humming. You knocked on the door before entering.
“Good morning Sanji. What are you cooking?” You looked at the ingredients and smiled. It always surprised you how Sanji could cook with all kind of random ingredients that he had laying around.
“I’m using up our last ingredients before we dock at the new island, which is soon hopefully.” Sanji said half laughing.
You walked over to where he was standing, reached into his pocket and grabbed his cigarette case. Sanji looked at you confused and laughed. “Didn’t know you smoked love, I would’ve offered.”
You laughed and grabbed two cigarettes. “Do you have time to smoke one now or are we going to wait until after breakfast?” Sanji’s cheeks reddend and he smiled as he grabbed the extra cigarette from your hand. “I certainly have time now. After you mademoiselle.”
You smiled as you heard the nickname again and led the way to the upper deck. You turned around to see Sanji already smoking his cigarette. He grabbed his lighter again and held it up for you to light your cigarette. You smiled politely as you took a hit from the cigarette. “Haven’t had one in a long time and not going to lie, I missed this.” He laughed and shook his head.
“You know you could always ask for one, I’ll even give you my last one if you needed it really badly.”
You laughed and nodded. “Thank you Sanji.”
There was a little silence but it was not awkward at all. Sure you weren’t sure how you really felt about him, which made it a little tricky but it wasn’t terrible or anything.
“So, what are your plans once you set foot on new territory?” Sanji asked while he flicked his cigarette away. You looked at him and looked at the land in the distance.
“Well first of all, I’m have to run a few errands, just to make sure we get everything we need, maybe some extra medical supplies, cigarettes.” You said smiling towards Sanji. “After that maybe I’ll go to a bar and have a good time, away from the going merry.”
Sanji smiled and nodded. “If you need anyone to keep you company with gathering everything, I can help, maybe combine it with my errands?” He said that more like a question but you smiled. “Yeah sure, let’s have some fun instead of you teaching me how to fight and kicking my ass in the process.” He laughed and looked away.
~~—~~—~~—~~
Everyone ran past each other, to make sure the ship docked without any problems, you helped Ussop and Zoro with the masts while they didn’t really need help but nevertheless you still felt somewhat useful.
“Good job crew! Now let’s have some fun!” Luffy yelled as he used the ship like a catapult and flew away into the city. You laughed at how goofy this all looked and saw Nami standing on the lower deck, ready to go. “Ready to run the errands y/l/n?” You smiled and looked at the ground.
“Well I am ready to run errands but Sanji asked to help so we’re going together, you can still join us if you want?” Nami laughed and grabbed her backpack. “No thank you, I’ll leave you two alone, have fun on your little date.” She said drawing a heart shape in the air. “No Nami, I think you got it all wr-“ You tried to explain but you got interrupted by Sanji who was also ready to exit the ship.
“Are you ready to go mademoiselle? Do I need to carry anything for you?” He asked politely while trying to grab your bag. “No It’s fine, maybe on the way back” You smiled as you quickly winked at him. His cheeks turned, once again, bright red and he looked at the ground.
The walk was quite relaxing, You looked at the shops that were there and back to your list. Sanji needed some new knives, as much food and drinks as he could get so you tried to memorize that as well.
You were done fairly quickly, Sanji just followed you like a lost puppy, carrying everything so you could relax a little. Sanji on the other hand had nothing yet. You were deeply in conversation with Sanji about the different bars that you saw, trying to figure out where to go later that day, when you spotted a tiny shop where they sold different kitchen utensils.
It was relatively busy on the streets, so you grabbed him by his hand and dragged him into the store with you. “Amore what are- Oh my god! This is amazing!-“ He started walking around, still holding your hand.
The shop owner smiled towards the two of you and after five minutes she walked up to Sanji, who let go of your hand seconds before that because he saw the prettiest knife set ever.
“Hello, is there anything I could help you with?” She started off slowly, playing with a strand of hair. You rolled your eyes and hoped Sanji would ignore this. “Ah yes, How much for this amazing set mademoiselle?” Sanji asked, smiling brightly. “For you I’ll do 50 berries, as long as we get to drink something together.” She said smiling, stepping a little closer and placing her hand on his chest.
You huffed at this and decided you needed to get some fresh air.
He blushed slightly and looked back to meet your gaze but you were nowhere to be found. He turned back around and smiled politely. “I’m sorry amore, Even though I would never say no to a beautiful lady, I do have to decline, You see the lovely girl over there-“ Sanji started and the owner got slightly pissed. “The price is 150 berries.” She quickly changed subjects. Sanji paid the berries, got his set and made his way out of the shop.
You were sitting outside of the shop, waiting for him to return. “Love where were you? I thought I lost you!” Sanji said dramatically and you shook your head. “Had to get some fresh air.” You lied. You couldn’t stand seeing Sanji flirt with another person, Even though you never told him that you maybe liked him, you felt your stomach twist the second she started flirting with him. You didn’t wait until the end of the conversation to leave the store, so you just assumed they were going on a date.
“So what else do we need?” You asked him while avoiding any eye contact. “We only need to get food and drinks and then we’re finished!” Sanji smiled happily while walking towards the market that was there. “Might as well take a look here, c’mon love.” Sanji said excitedly while linking your arms together and dragging you along.
~~—~~—~~—~~
Once you got everything you needed for the ship, you two put everything in its place. Sanji smiled when he put his knives set on the counter and looked at you. “Thank you for this lovely day Amore, I wouldn’t have done it with anyone else.”
You once again rolled your eyes at him, not convinced anymore that he had any sort of interest in you, after what happened in the kitchen supply store.
“Yeah no worries, gotta go.” You quickly said, walking away, deciding that it was probably for the best if you went on a little walk, just to clear your head. You didn’t want to believe that Sanji was going on a date with someone else and the last thing you wanted, is to see her again with Sanji.
A few hours had passed, you got back on the ship and walked back to your shared room, where Nami was eagerly waiting.
“What happened?” She asked while you sat down in the hammock.
“Sanji is going on a date with some girl he just met.” You casually said while you were fidgeting with one of your rings. Nami was confused and shook her head. “Well I haven’t heard anything from him about that.” She slowly said waiting for a reaction.
You looked up to meet her gaze and saw her grinning like an idiot. You could also see that she was wearing a nice dress and slight makeup.
“Why that stupid grin?” You asked slightly irritated. She wasn’t helping at all. “You know what, I think you’re just jealous.” She bluntly said.
You stood up and huffed. “Pff, No I’m absolutely not jealous. Why would I be jealous?” You tried to say calmly, but you said it more like a silent shout.
“This is why I think you’re jealous. C’mon y/l/n. I’m not stupid. You’re always on your toes with him, irritated when he’s ‘flirting’ with other girls and you’ll do everything just to have an excuse to see him.” Nami also stood up.
You were quite taken aback from everything she just said. It was like a realization you didn’t want to have yet.
“Cat got your tongue?” Nami laughed while saying this. “I hate it when you say stuff that makes sense.” You said with a hint of defeat in your voice, as you sat down in the hammock again.
“Okay enough of this, you get dressed, we’re all going out to have a few drinks. No excuses.” Nami warned you as she walked towards the door. “20 minutes and if you’re not there, I’ll drag you out of the room, don’t care what you look like.” She said, closing the door behind you.
You let out a big sigh and placed your head in your hands. She was right. You got up, got dressed into a cute but casual dress and redid the makeup from earlier. You grabbed your glasses, a bag with some berries in it and made your way back towards Nami.
~~—~~—~~—~~
Nami told everyone to go to the bar that they decided on and waited for you. “Are we the first?” You asked slightly confused. “No I told them to go already and that we would join them a little later, just to give you some extra time.” Nami smiled. “You do look amazing.” She added. truthfully.
You smiled whole heartedly. “You look stunning as well Nami.” She thanked you quickly and started walking towards the bar.
Once you stood in front of the bar you stopped walking. Nami turned around and laughed softly. “After you.” She basically pointed towards the door. You knew she wasn’t going to move unless you went inside. You nodded and walked in.
You looked around and saw a lot of drunk people dancing, having the time of their lives, while others were singing along to the live band that was playing. You spotted Zoro and looked back at Nami, who was standing behind you. You grabbed her hand and guided her through the crowds while she took that opportunity to pick pocket.
You reached Zoro who wanted to say something until he realized it was actually you and not some girl that wanted his attention. Zoro scooted over and you sat down next to him. “You look good, didn’t think you would wear a dress, like ever.” He said softly.
“I’ll just take that as a compliment, thank you.” You rolled your eyes playfully and nudged him in his ribs which caused him to grunt a bit.
“You look absolutely breathtaking Mademoiselle.” Sanji said and you nodded. “Thanks, does someone want a refill?” You asked before standing up again. Turned out, everyone wanted a refill.
“You better save this seat Zoro or I’ll kick your ass. Again.” You said laughing, leaving the irritated Zoro behind. You walked over to the bar, got your drinks and walked back over to your crew.
~~—~~—~~—~~
The night went pretty smoothly. You mostly tried to ignore Sanji, not because you wanted to but because you didn’t want to get hurt by him.
You excused yourself from the group and went outside to smoke a cigarette. You were looking around in your bag for a lighter as you heard a lighter behind you flare. You turned around and saw Sanji standing there, smiling politely as he held out the now ignited lighter.
You sighed but smiled back. Of course he wasn’t going to let you go outside alone, not when it’s already dark out.
“Are you okay?” He asked you while he lit his cigarette.
“I’m fine, just a little tired.” You tried to wave it off. “Okay different question.-“ He looked at you for a second before continuing. “Did I do something wrong? You seem annoyed with me.” He was now standing in front of you, looking at you for any signs of denying or conformation.
“I am annoyed Sanji, but I’ll be fine. I’m suprised you haven’t said hello to your date yet, She’s waiting inside.” You took a hit of your cigarette and looked into his mesmerizing blue eyes.
“M-my date?” He choked on the question and looked in shock. “I-I think you got the wrong idea my love.” Sanji tried to explain, now realizing what was happening.
“I don’t think so, I heard everything.” You said confidently. Sanji just smiled softly. “I don’t think so mademoiselle.” You looked at him confused before turning bright red.
“I told her i’d have to decline, that I wasn’t interested. She cut me off before I could even finish my sentence.” Sanji explained calmly.
You were so angry at yourself, for putting up a wall for something that stupid. You sighed and he smiled. “Relieved?”
You smiled slightly. “Kind of.” He laughed and nodded. “I’ll try to do better my love, now let’s go inside, I don’t want you to get sick.” Sanji placed one hand on your lower back, which caused you to get shivers.
“I’ll come back in a second, just need a little bit more of the fresh air and some time to think.” You smiled.
“Then I’ll also stay, if you don’t mind?” Sanji blushed slightly while he removed his hand from your lower back.
“Sure, do whatever you want.” You laughed. “Okay.” Sanji said before pulling you into him and he smiled. “Can’t let you get cold can I?” He tried to say smoothly but you could hear his heartbeat flutter and laughed.
You looked up at him and smiled. He was already staring and quickly looked at your lips and back to your eyes. “Did I already tell you that you look absolutely mesmerizing today?” You hit him playfully on his chest and smiled. “Yes you did, thank you, you’re too kind.”
He held you close and he lit another cigarette. You shared the cigarette and a few stories before getting ready to head back to the rest of the crew.
You got up before Sanji could and started to make your way back to the entrance. Sanji grabbed your hand and spun you around, causing you to giggle.
“I’m so sorry mademoiselle but I can’t wait any longer.-” He started. Your head was spinning and you suddenly got really nervous. He placed one of his hands on your hip, pulling you closer and cupped your face in his other hand, causing you to look him into his eyes. He was blushing heavily but you thought that it was cute. “M-may I?” You nodded slowly and he smiled. “Lovely.”
Once his lips connected to yours, you felt fireworks going off in your stomach. He was so sweet and careful while still being really eager to kiss and taste you.
He tasted like cigarettes, wine and mints, which surprised you but you didn’t expect anything else.
You both pulled back after a little while, catching your breath. You were flabbergasted he would kiss you but you blamed the alcohol he had earlier.
You took a step back and looked at him. He was speechless. He wanted to kiss you from the first moment he laid his eyes on you. He smiled softly and looked at you. You could see that he was slightly drunk.
You looked at the ground while trying not to freak out. “I’m sorry, we shouldn’t have done that.” You said while walking away. “My love.. Don’t do this, We can talk about this.” Sanji pleaded. You shook your head. “I’m so sorry Sanji, we’ll talk later.”
You grabbed Nami by her arm and pulled her into the lady’s room. “Nami listen.-“ You started trying not to cry. “Sanji kissed me, but he’s drunk and I’ve left him outside and I don’t know what to do!” The tears were now streaming down your face as you sat down on the ground.
Normally Nami would kept hassling you until you told her everything that had happened but she could see that you needed a friend. She sat down next to you and pulled you close. “Why are you crying? Because he kissed you? Or because he might not remember?” Nami asked you while she was trying to calm you down by slowly rocking you back and forth.
“Both. I’m scared he will wake up tomorrow and not remember anything but if he remembers I don’t know what to do. Sure I like him but that doesn’t mean that he likes me. I told him that we’ll talk later but I’m scared Nami.”
Nami shook her head and pulled you both up from the ground. “You know what, we’re gonna ignore it for now, just have a good time, I’ll get you something to drink and when we’re back on the ship we’ll discuss it again okay?” She smiled while wiping away the tears. You nodded and followed her.
As you walked back to the crew, you saw Sanji sitting in the booth, next to the girl from the shops. “You have to be fucking kidding me.” You whispered as Nami followed your gaze. “Is that?” She quickly asked.
You nodded once again. “His date.”

Word count: 2.2K words

Authors Note: I’m so sorry that I didn’t post anything in the last two weeks. I was really busy with helping my best friend move houses. I’m back now and I’ll try to get 1 or 2 post per week, depending on how big of a chapter I’ll write. Hope you all enjoy!
P.S.: Sorry if there are sentences that are grammatically incorrect, English isn’t my first language, so my apologies in advance.
~~—~~—~~—~~
It’s been a few days since you started your training with Sanji. Each day you improved a lot. When you didn’t train with Sanji, you took it upon yourself to get stronger.
“Slow down Tiger.” Nami said, causing you to jump. You quickly turned around and smiled sheepishly. “Nami, you scared the shit out of me. What’s up?” You looked at her, dropped your weights and grabbed a towel, wiping away all the sweat. “I just came to see how you were doing. You’ve been training all day!-“ Nami started. She looked around and saw Zoro sleeping on the other side of the deck. “Even Zoro doesn’t train all day.” She looked back to you. “Maybe you should take some rest.” You smiled but politely declined. “I’m all right. I need to be ready if something happens Nami. Everyone can defend themselves but I can’t, yet.” You grabbed your weights and started where you left off.
Nami went to the upper deck and looked in your direction, seeing the determination on your face. Sanji had seen Nami looking at you and decided to join her. He greeted Nami quickly and smiled while looking at you.
While this happened on the upper deck, you dropped your weights and one of them rolled into the direction of Zoro, who was still sound asleep. The weight hit his ankle which caused him to grunt. He stood up, grabbed one of his swords and stomped into your direction, only stopping just in time. “Watch it y/l/n.” He said angrily while holding the sword up to your neck. You knew Zoro wouldn’t hurt you, But you also knew not to fuck with him while he was asleep (even if it was on accident).
You sneakily grabbed one of his other swords and grinned cockily. “I’m not scared of you Zoro, you are all big talk and nothing more.” You said smiling, taking a few steps back. Zoro laughed loudly. “Sure, Let’s see how good you are.” He said wiping a tear away from laughing.
You had ben training with bamboo swords, just to see how it was, so you knew a little. You also watched Zoro when he was training, writing down tactics.
He charged at you and you quickly blocked him. You only knew how to kick and punch so you just tried to block every attack. After maybe 10 minutes, you were panting, Zoro was really strong and you didn’t want to admit your defeat. Zoro saw this and laughed, causing you to get a chance to maybe disarm him.
Because you charged at him, you made him hesitate which move he was going to pull, to not hurt you, You wuickly got behind him with the sword on his throat, barely touching him. He put away his sword and looked down. He cleared his throat before grabbing the sword from your hand and turned around, avoiding your gaze.
“I let you win.-“ He mumbled, looking at you. “Didn’t want to hurt you.” He quickly added while putting away his last sword, now trying to exit the deck. “Zoro!” You yelled before he could completely disappear from your sight. He turned around and looked at you. “I take back what I said, you had me until the last second. I have enough to learn from you.” You said softly towards him. He nodded and walked away.
Nami and Sanji both laughed and you turned around. “I think i’ll take the rest of the day off, just like you said Nami.” You said, gathering your stuff. Nami laughed and nodded. “That’s a good idea y/n.”
~~—~~—~~—~~
“Everyone get ready!” Nami yelled. “This is it! The way into the grand line.”
Everyone jumped around each other, trying to get to their spots. Luffy was on the sheep head, looking at each of his crew members. “Usopp, Zoro! take care of the masts!, Nami please make sure we don’t hit those pillars, Sanji prepare some food!” Luffy commanded everyone. You stood next to Nami, making sure if she needed you, you were there.
You got closer and closer and before you knew it, the ship was going upwards. You all cheered and smiled. Soon enough you were on the other side of the mountain, now in the grand line. The waters were really smooth here, and Nami looked back at her compass, trying to figure out the next steps.
You excused yourself and went to your shared room. You had this special compass, that someone gave to you back when you were still working in Loguetown. You decided that you were going to gift this to Nami, not only because she was the navigator but also because she became your best friend in a short time period. You got back to Nami and saw that she was looking confused at why her compass wasn’t working.
You looked at Nami and smiled. “Nami?” You started. She sighed. “The compass doen’t work y/n! I’m supposed to be the navigator but I can’t even tell which way’s which!” You chucked and she looked at you slightly angry. Before she could say anything you looked at the ground. “Nami I have a present for you, close your eyes and put your hands out.” Nami looked at you, now annoyed. “This isn’t the time for presents.” She said, still doing what you said. You gave her the compass and smiled widely. “Ta-da!”
Nami opened her eyes as she smiled slightly. “What is this?” She asked while she examined the little compass. “This is what you need in the Grand line. Someone gave it to me as a present but I know you will appreciate it more. It’s now located to the closest Island. It’s supposed to be one maybe one and a half days away!” You said jumping excitedly.
Nami looked back at you as her eyes started to swell with tears. She gave you a really big hug and thanked you multiple times. You smiled and looked at everyone. For the first time in a long long time, you felt important.
~~—~~—~~—~~
After finishing what Sanji called ‘The celebration feast’, you all decided to have a few drinks together, to celebrate entering the Grand Line. You told a few stories that other people told you while you still worked at the restaurant. Luffy asked a few stupid questions, which made you laugh.
Everyone was enjoying the time together. You decided to play a few card games, Usopp teaching everyone a new game. Everyone was so infested with the game that everyone lost track of time. Before you knew it, it was almost 1AM. You yawned and excused yourself. “I’m going to bed guys, i’m really tired. See ya’ll tomorrow.” You said yawning once again and waving everyone goodbye.
You opened the door to your room and grabbed your pyjama. After you changed, you quickly brushed your teeth, combed your hair and got into bed.
You kept turning in your bed and after not being able to sleep you sat up and looked at the clock. “2;54AM.” You mumbled before grabbing your robe and making your way to the kitchen for some water and maybe a snack.
As you walked through the hallways, you could see that the kitchen light was still on. You once again sighed. “I should’ve known he would still be awake.” You said to yourself before knocking on the door to make yourself known. You leaned against the doorframe, not wanting to invade his space.
Sanji looked up and smiled. “Didn’t expect to see you at this time mademoiselle, couldn’t sleep?” You smiled softly back at him. “Well I tried to sleep, but the waves hitting the windows kept me awake. I’m still not really used to the heavy waves and storms that sometimes happen.”
He smiled and nodded understandably. He put everything away and started to gather everything to make some hot chocolate. He grabbed a pan and put it on the fire. He poured in the milk and started to heat it up. “I’m going to make some hot chocolate, want some Amore?” He asked you softly.
You smiled widely. “Hot chocolate, how could I say no to that!” He chuckled, while he chopped up the chocolate and quickly whisked some heavy cream with sugar to make the whipping cream. He grabbed a few vanilla pods and put some fresh vanilla seeds in there as well.
Once the hot chocolate was done he gently poured it into two cups and topped it off with with the cream. He smiled at his creation and grabbed a piece of chocolate before grating it on top, to make it look extra pretty. “Here you go love, be careful, it’s still hot.” He smiled while he placed it in front of you. You grabbed the mug eagerly and touched his hand on accident.
You blushed heavily while pulling your hand away quickly. He laughed softly and grabbed his mug. He sat down next to you and looked at you.
The heavy waves turned into a terrible storm which sent chills throughout your spine. You absolutely hated storms and now on the ship it only seemed worse. Sanji noticed that you were slightly on edge and smiled barely. He grabbed your hand and placed it on his lap, intertwining his finger in yours.
At this point you were blushing heavily. “I don’t like stormy weather. The boat moves to much and it keeps me awake sometimes. The rain is calming though, when you lay comfortably in a hammock, or a bed-“ He said looking at you, trying to distract you. “-You just close your eyes and focus on the raindrops hitting the window and the wooden walls.”
You silently took a sip from your mug with your one free hand and nodded. “Storms aren’t my favorite.” You chuckled slightly. “You know-“ You started, placing down your mug. You completely turned towards him and smiled softly. “-When I was little, I used to be shit scared of storms, not able to sleep at all. I normally would wake my mum up and beg her to make me some hot chocolate. After that she would drag me back to bed and join me. She used to keep me safe from the storms. Maybe that’s the reason I never got over them. I didn’t want to lose that feeling.”
He smiled sadly. He looked away while he mumbled something. You couldn’t hear what he was saying, which made you curious. “Speak up, pretty boy.” You teased before taking a few sips from your hot chocolate. He turned around with a light shade of pink on his cheeks. “What I said was, you could always look for me in those scenario’s. Most of the time I’ll be awake anyways.”
You were taken aback my this. You kinda thought he didn’t like you. “And thank you sweetheart for the compliment, although you are the pretty one here.” He looked down at his mug and took a sip.
The tention between you two was really tight and you both definitely noticed this. You sat in silence for what felt like forever. Sanji never let go of your hand though. Eventually you started a conversation and before you knew it, the storm was over. It was still really early in the night and you let out a yawn. Sanji laughed and looked at you. “Mademoiselle, I really like the company, but you need your sleep. Are you okay now?” He slowly asked you while letting go of your hand.
You nodded and stood up. Sanji followed you and opened up the door. “I’ll walk you to your room, that’s the least I could do.” You smiled and started walking. The walk was silent but not awkward.
Once you stood in front of your door you turned around. This startled Sanji who was standing right behind you. You stood on your toes gave him a soft kiss on his cheek. “Thank you Sanji.” You smiled as you turned back around. He touched his cheek where you kissed him and he blushed heavily. You were about time to close the door before he whispered. “The offer still stands, remember that. Sweet dreams love.”
He quickly walked away, to the upper deck. He lit up a cigarette and smiled widely. He knew he wasn’t going to sleep after this. You had him all worked up and he let out a sigh.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You got back in bed and smiled to yourself. You closed your eyes and let out a big sigh. You thought about everything that just had happened and got comfortable in your bed.
As you drifted to sleep, you smiled again, finally able to have a good night rest, all thanks to the sweet and loving cook.

From nothing to something.
(Sanji x reader, part 3)
part 1 , part 2
Summary: Ready for the big adventure, Nami and you decided to run a few more errands, asking Nami if she could teach you hor to fight and defend yourself. Little did you know, it wasn’t her that was gonna teach you how to do so.
Word count: 2,5K words.
Content warnings: Mostly fluff, mentions of fighting (practice)
Authors note: The support I got on the last few parts have been amazing, I can’t thank you all enough! Let me know what you think and what you want to see next! Also I have a question. Do you want me to continue this story without uploading other one shots or stories, or make one shots (about other characters maybe?) while still writing this story?
P.S.: Sorry if there are sentences that are grammatically incorrect, English isn’t my first language, so my apologies in advance.
~~—~~—~~—~~
The first night on the ship was a long one to say the least. It took you longer than usual to fall asleep. You’ve never been on a ship before and even though it was still at the dock, the waves kept you awake. It was around 4AM before you drifted off to sleep.
The voice of Nami woke you up. “Good morning sunshine, ready for the big adventure?” She asked while she was already getting ready. “What’s the time?” You asked sleepily while sitting up. She smiled. “It’s 8AM, I need to run a few more errands, want to join me?” She looked at you while she smiled slightly. “Sure, let me get ready, I’ll be ready in 10 minutes?” It sounded more like a question but Nami nodded. “I’ll ask Sanji to prepare some sandwiches that we can take with us.” You smiled back at her. “Thanks Nami, I’ll be right behind you.”
You stood up from your bed, grabbed an oversized sweater and a skinny jeans and got dressed. You quickly combed your hair, put on your glasses and looked into the mirror you had in your shared room. “This will do for today.” You smiled into the mirror before sighing and leaving your room.
You passed the kitchen and went straight to the deck, seeing Nami lean on one of the polls that held up the mast. She smiled and jumped off the ship onto the dock. You followed her lead, tripping and falling. “Totally my intention.” You laughed while you got up and dusted off your pants. “Very smooth y/n, I’m impressed. Can you teach me that someday?” Nami was laughing loudly. You laughed and nodded. “Of course, if you teach me how to fight.” Nami nodded and started walking. “That’s a deal.”
You went to a few shops, gathering the last things you all needed for your big adventure. After dropping everything off at the ship, Nami and you decided to walk around the town for a bit, one final time.
You smiled at everyone you saw and showed Nami everything that meant something to you. She followed you quietly and looked around. “You ready to leave Loguetown?” She asked while you were about to point at your old house. You turned around with tears in your eyes. “Yeah, definitely. It’s just.-” You looked down as one tear escaped your eyes and landed on the ground. “-I-I’m nervous. This is the first time I’ll be leaving this place, the place I have all of my memories and grew up in.” You smiled sadly.
Nami wasn’t the hugging type, but seeing that you had the same feelings as she once had, she stepped forward and pulled you into a tight hug. You smiled into the hug and took a deep breath. Nami let you go after a minute or two and you looked at her. “Thank you Nami, you are amazing.”
You grabbed her hand and walked away, this time for real. You looked back at your house and waved, as if your house would wave back. Nami just laughed as she noticed you weren’t gonna let go of her hand any time soon.
When you arrived back at the ship, you were still holding Nami’s hand. Zoro and Usopp looked at each, very confused of the situation. You and Nami smiled, she let go of your hand as she let you go onto the ship first. “Thank you.” You laughed towards Nami, while you gave her a hand to help her up. She nodded and as she walked by, as to say thank you back. She winked at Zoro and Usopp, creating more confusion.
~~—~~—~~—~~
“Zoro, Nami, Usopp, you know what to do!” Luffy yelled excitedly as he sat down on top of the giant sheep head they had on the ship, meanwhile you were at the back of the ship, looking at Loguetown. “Y/N!” You heard someone yell. You saw your boss standing at the dock. “Good luck and save travels. Keep in touch please?” He yelled. You smiled and before you knew it, you were crying. You blew him a kiss and waved until you didn’t see him anymore.
You were still crying as Loguetown disappeared from your vision. You hadn’t noticed that Sanji was standing a few feet away from you. You smiled and wiped away your tears. You turned around and got startled by Sanji. He chuckled and sheepishly waved. “Hi, I- uh didn’t mean to scare you. Just checking up on you.” He smiled soflty.
You nodded. “I’m okay, thank you Sanji.” You said as you walked past him. ‘If he could ignore you, you could try to do the same, at least for a little while.’ You thought to yourself.
Sanji stood there speechless. He looked at the ocean for a second before lighting a cigarette and taking a big hit, trying to process what just happened.
You walked towards Nami who was busy studying the maps. “This doesn’t make sense.” She mumbled looking up from the maps as you just stood there, trying not to interrupt her. “Need help?” You asked while you took a step closer to look at the maps she had placed on a barrel in front of her. “Yes please.” She smiled.
“See, from what I’m seeing here it isn’t possible to go this way, even though it’s the only way.” She pointed at the map. “Yes but it’s true. I read it somewhere, let me get the book. I’ll be right back.” You said as you hurried into your room. You grabbed a few books and started to browse through them. “Here it is.” You mumbled to yourself as you closed the book and made your way back to Nami.
You made your way back and opened the book next to Nami. “It says here, that it is a mountain of some sorts. There is one way up there and it is very much possible. The only thing we have to look out for, are the stone pillars. If you crash into them, the ship will be destroyed.” You closed your book and looked back at Nami, who looked relieved. “That makes sense. Thank you.” You smiled. “Great, now the reason I came here; When are you gonna teach me how to fight and defend myself?” You looked at her as she stayed silent for a few seconds.
“Well I talked to the boys over there-“ She said while she pointed at Zoro and Sanji who were, at this point basically fighting. “And they are willing to teach you. Well Zoro can teach you how to defend yourself, and Sanji can teach you how to fight.” You looked back at Nami, completely in shock. “You did what?!” You yelled, causing the boys to stop fighting and to turn around.
Nami looked at you and laughed. “They are great fighters, better than I am, so you should be thanking me y/n.” She said winking at you. You dramatically placed a hand on your forehead and sighed. “Nami I thought we were friends!” This caused her to laugh. She pushed you into the direction of Sanji and Zoro and smiled. “You’ll be alright. Tell me everything tonight.” You gave her a nasty glare and with that you made your way to them.
“Hi.” You said towards Zoro and Sanji, once you stood in front of them. “I heard Nami asked you both if you could maybe teach me how to fight and defend myself, so here I am. Sorry that Nami asked you, I would’ve done so myself if-“ Zoro interrupted you by chuckling. “You don’t have to be nervous waiter. Sanji is going to teach you the basics about fighting and he’s going to see what your specialties are, when you know the basics, I’ll take it from there, maybe teach you some sword fighting as well.” Zoro said nonchalantly while completely ingnoring Sanji.
You smiled and thanked Zoro as he walked away. You looked back at Sanji who just stood there, smiling. “Lets start tonight, after dinner.” Sanji suggested while looking at you for any hint of comformation. You smiled slightly. “Great.”
Sanji smiled and threw his cigarette away. He was almost at the door of the kitchen when he turned around. “Put on some warm but comfortable clothes Mademoiselle, I’ll take care of the rest.” With that he disappeared into the kitchen.
You looked back at Nami who was smiling and holding up both of her thumbs. “Seems like you got a date y/n.” She said teasingly. You rolled your eyes and walked towards your shared room. “Sure Nami, keep dreaming.” You said back. Luffy sho was still sitting on the sheeps head turned around. “Y/n got a date? With who?” He asked to Nami who just laughed.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You were mentally preparing yourself for tonight. You already gotten ready; Now wearing some jogging pants, a croptop and over that, a hoodie. You put your hair in a ponytail and kept your glasses on for now. You were in the hammock, trying to relax a bit. You closed your eyes and accidentally fell asleep
You woke up an hour later, looking at the clock. 5:47PM. You sighed and got out of the hammock. You put your shoes back on and headed into the kitchen. Nami, Luffy and Sanji were there. You smiled and took a seat next to Luffy.
Luffy was extra smiley and jumpy around you. You ignored it while you got a drink. “So y/n. You got a date?” Luffy asked while you took a sip of the drink, startling you while you spit out your drink. You glared at Nami sho was crying of laughter. “N-no? Did Nami tell you that?” You asked confused, trying to figure out how he could’ve heard something like that.
Sanji who was getting the plates ready, smiled to himself. Luffy laughed. “That doesn’t matter, Just tell me who the lucky one is!” He yelled. Zoro and Usopp entered the kitchen, after hearing Luffy yell. “Great.” You mumbled to yourself as you took a seat next to Luffy again. “It isn’t a date Luffy. Just quit it already.” You almost pleaded, now slightly blushing. Luffy quickly dropped the subject as Sanji handed everyone their plate. You silently thanked him and he winked at you, causing you to look at your food immediately, ignoring his gaze.
Everyone was talking and enjoying dinner. You kept silent for most of the conversations, only awnsering when someone asked you something. Usopp told insane stories, occasionally causing everyone to roll their eyes but you were mesmerized by everything he told the group. Sanji was looking at you from the other side of the table. Every once in a while you caught him staring and quickly looking away but you didn’t think much of it.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You stayed in the kitchen, helping Sanji clean. The faster Sanji learned you the basics, the quicker it would be done. Sanji grabbed a few water bottles and a some towels and looked at you. “Are you ready mademoiselle?” He slowly asked you. You smiled. “As ready as I can be.” Was all that you could say.
“Okay so first of all, is that I’m going to find out what your specialties are and what you are most comfortable with. We will work from there. If there is anything that you’re not comfortable with or if I’m ever huring you, you have to tell me. Okay love?” He said while guiding you towards the upper deck, placing everything down. You noticed that he tried to avoid your gaze. You stayed silent and once again nodded. “You have to use your words darling.” Sanji said turning around and now standing a few feet away from you.
“I-I understand.” You shakily said. Sanji smiled. “Good. Okay so to determine what you already know, I want you to attack me, as if we were fighting. Show me what you got sweetheart.” He said grinning. You sighed and took of your glasses. “Okay, just know, I never fought anyone.” You sheepishly said, placing your glasses down on one of the towels.
You charged towards him, before trying to punch him. When he blocked you, you immediately kicked him, causing him to lose his balance. You smiled and continued. It got heated in a matter of seconds, before he grabbed your arm and tripping you. You almost hit the deck as he pulled you back up, into his arms. “That was pretty impressive darling.” He panted as he let you go.
After a few hours teaching you how to perfect your punch and kick, you sat down and took off your hoodie, leaving you in your crop-top and jogging pants. You drank some water and stood up again. Sanji took off his coat and tie and also drank some water.
“Ready to try again? You’re getting better each time love.” Sanji smiled. “You must have a great teacher.” He cockily added while wiggling his eyebrows. You laughed and nodded. “Zoro is great indeed. I’ll make sure to tell him that you said that Sanji.” Sanji sighed and looked at you, somewhat defeated.
Once again you lost the ‘fight’. Even though you were sad about constantly losing, you learned a few new tricks and started to get your kicks and punches under control. One time you got close to winning, but nevertheless you still lost.
“Mademoiselle, as much as I enjoy this, I think we should call it a night.” Sanji said sitting down. You sat next to him, slightly leaning against him and nodded, while breathing heavily. “Yeah you’re absolutely right. I’m really tired.” You breathed out.
Sanji unbuttoned his top three buttons, and wiped his face with a towel. “Tomorrow same time?” He asked you while looking at you again. You looked at his, now exposed chest for a second and nodded. “Sounds good to me.” He chuckled. “Eyes up here love.” He teased.
You looked back up into his beautiful ocean eyes and blushed heavily. Lucky for you it was getting darker by the minute so hopefully he didn’t notice. “I could say the same thing to you Sanji, you’ve been eyeing my chest ever since I took off my hoodie.” It was now Sanji’s turn to blush. He looked away and laughed. “What can I say, you’re beautiful. It would be a shame if I didn’t look.” He said smiling.
You felt your heart beat faster and decided to leave before you could embarrass yourself. “Thank you for tonight Sanji.” You got up and grabbed your hoodie. He followed your lead and grabbed the empty water bottels and towels. He quickly grabbed your hand and kissed it. “Sweet dreams my love.”
You smiled at him and a yawn escaped your mouth. “Goodnight Sanji, sweet dreams.” You walked back to your room, seeing Nami wide awake in her bed. “Tell me everything.” You laughed and got ready for bed, while explaining every single detail.

~~—~~—~~—~~
It was a 15 minute walk from your tiny house to the docks. You saw a few ships but they didn’t seem like the one you were looking for. The sun was already setting and you looked at the sunset for a second. You smiled and took a deep breath.
After a few minutes you started walking again and kept looking at the ships. You didn’t really see where you were going and before you knew it, you bumped into someone, making you fall onto the ground.
“Oh Shit, i’m so sorry!” You started saying while looking up at the person who you bumped into, seeing the green-haired guy looking at you, not amused at all. He mumbled something you didn’t understand and he held out a hand. “Watch where you are going.” You nodded and grabbed his hand. “Thank you.” You quickly said before you grabbed your stuff from the ground.
The green-hair guy lifted you up and soon enough you were standing again. He nodded and walked off.
‘What a weird guy.’ You thought before you began to walk again. After you walked for a bit until you saw a Jolly Roger with a skull and a straw hat on. You chuckled and laughed. “Why doesn’t this surprise me?” You asked yourself before you tried to see if you could see anyone.
You started to doubt yourself and was ready to walk away, until you heard someone scream your name. You turned around and saw the captain of the crew Luffy. He jumped off the ship, right in front of you. “So what do you say?” Luffy asked excitedly. “Yeah, I want to be part of the crew!” You reacted with the same amount of excitement.
He hugged you and after that, threw your bag onto the ship. You laughed at the action and smiled. “After you y/n.” Luffy said, pointing at the opening of the ship. You looked at the ship for a second, smiled and entered the ship.
Once you entered the ship, you started to look around. You saw some tangerine trees and smiled. “What a nice touch” you said softly while you walked up to them and took a closer look. You tried to touch one before someone grabbed your arm, which caused you to turn around.
“What the hell do you think you are doing here!” The same green-haired guy said angrily. “How the fuck did you do that?” You just asked confused, totally not frightened by the guy or the 3 swords he had. “I could ask you the same fucking thing. Get off this ship. You don’t belong here waiter.”
Luffy heard what was going on and came to check on you. “Zoro calm down, she’s part of our crew!” He said excitedly. Zoro looked shocked, but not really surprised. “So the cook was right about something.” He huffed and let go of your arm. He walked away, presumably to his room.
“Off to a great start.” You mumbled, before smiling and turning around. You saw the other boy and girl walk up to you and they introduced themself. “I’m the great captain Ussop.” Ussop started proudly. Nami laughed at Ussop and she quickly introduced herself, Following Zoro shortly after.
“The great captain Ussop you say?” You smiled slightly. Luffy was still standing there just taking it all in. “Yes! Finally someone who acknowledges me.” He smiled widely. “So captain, tell me. Why is Luffy the captain and why are you also a captain?” You tried to stay serious but smiled slightly. He was slightly taken aback but laughed it off.
“W-well you see.-“ He started to explain and Luffy laughed loudly, he couldn’t wait for Ussop to explain it to you. “Luffy couldn’t do this without me. See i’m a great sharp shooter and because of that, an amazing addition to this crew.” You nodded. “I see, well good to have you on the crew Captain Ussop.” You patted him on the shoulder and took a look at Luffy, who was now grabbing his stomach because he was laughing so hard.
“Luffy, can you maybe show me around?” You asked Luffy while you walked up to him. “No, I can’t but there is someone who can.” He grabbed your arm and pulled you into the ship, to the kitchen. You quickly looked back at Ussop who just held up both thumbs and mouthed something like ‘Goodluck’.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You entered the kitchen after Luffy, who was still holding on to your arm, basically dragging you along. You noticed that everyone (except Ussop, who was still outside) was in the kitchen, chatting away. When they saw you it all got quiet. Sanji tried to avoid eye contact and started chopping some vegetables and fruits.
“So anyone wants to show y/n around?” Luffy asked. Zoro looked at you and shook his head while slightly grinning. “Well I know someone whats to show her around. Maybe show her-“ He got rudely interrupted by Sanji who threw an apple core directly in between his eyes. Zoro got up and was ready to fight him at this point.
You were shocked by this but found this oddly amusing, quickly glancing at Nami who was now crying from laughter.
“Great! Who were you talking about Zoro?” Luffy asked, totally oblivious of the situation. You saw Zoro laugh and pointed at Sanji, who ignored Zoro and continued chopping up the remaining vegetables and fruits. “Awesome! We’ll leave you two too it.” Luffy said happily, Grabbing Zoro and Nami, leaving you two alone.
You were silent for a second, just looking at Sanji who was finishing up with the preparations for dinner. After what you felt was like eternity, you cleared your throat. “So..-“ You started off slowly. Sanji looked up and smiled. “I’m so sorry for Mosshead earlier. Hope he didn’t make a wrong impression.” He started, while he washed his hands.
“Yeah, no it’s fine. I’m used to a alot-“ You smiled. “u-uh from the restaurant of course.” You hit yourself, embarrassed at how stupid that sounded and heard Sanji laugh softly. “Please mademoiselle, don’t hurt yourself.” Sanji said as he dried his hands and walked over to you.
You felt your hart skip a beat and froze for a second. ‘Damn you are such a loser. Already crushing on the first (handsome) man that is nice to you.’ You thought to yourself while trying to play it cool. Sanji definitely noticed this but ignored it for now, trying not to act like a fool.
“Madam?” Sanji asked while he waved his hands in front of your face, smiling. You looked at him sheepishly before your cheeks turned a rosy pinkish colour. “I’m sorry, you were saying?” You asked trying to sound chill, but definitely failing.
Sanji let out a chuckle, enjoying the situation you created. “As I was saying Madam, Are you ready for me to show you around?” He asked while looking at you, his eyes shifting from your eyes to your lips and back to your eyes again. You just nodded. He smiled widely before he clapped his hands together. “Let’s get started Mi amore.” He walked to the door and held it open for you. You nodded and walked out of the door.
He grabbed your bag like the gentleman he is and started off showing you everything you needed to know, giving you random and stupid facts about all the rooms he was showing you. Now and then you let out a chuckle as he said something funny, or in your opinion, cute.
“And last but definitely not least; This is Nami and your room.” He opened the door and you saw two beds in a regular sized room. There were a few barrels, a few cabinets, a hammock and a chair. You smiled at Sanji while he placed your bag into the room. “Well, I’ll leave you to it for now, If you need anything Mademoiselle you know where to find M- u uh- us. I’ll call you for dinner in a bit.” Sanji said quickly, smiled at you and left.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You were in your shared room quite a while before Nami knocked on the door. “I’m coming in.” She said before she opened the door and looked at you. “Hi-“ You started while you turned around to look back at her. “You know, this was your room first so you don’t have to knock, but I very much appreciate it nonetheless.” You said kindly.
You were still busy unpacking, not fully knowing where to put everything. The floor was now filled with all of your stuff and you sat in the middle of it. Nami chuckled at the sight and carefully walked around all of the stuff and sat on her bed.
“Look, I’m not the best person to make friends but you seem nice. With that said, here are some rules. First, you don’t touch my stuff, Second, this cabinet is full of my maps but you can store important books or maps in here if you need to. Third, you can ask me anything and I’ll try to help you wherever I can.” You smiled. This solved 90% of your storage problems. “Thank you Nami.” You said happily, while putting everything away and sitting down on your bed.
You both talked for a bit about everything and nothing before you heard Sanji call for the both of you. “About time.” You said but it came out more as a whisper. Nami laughed, before standing up and looking at you. “Be prepared y/n. The food at your restaurant is nothing compared to the food Sanji makes, especially now that you are here.” She grinned and walked away. You followed her, confused at what she just told you.
You entered the kitchen after Nami, seeing Sanji handing every one their plate. He smiled widely when he saw you which made you blush slightly and quickly sat down in between Nami and Zoro. Sanji handed Nami her plate and then placed your plate in front of you. “Here you go madam, tell me what you think.” He looked at you once again, slightly blushing himself but luckily no one noticed.
You took a bite and closed your eyes with pleasure. “This is amazing.” You said once you swallowed the food. Sanji smiled to himself and nodded proudly. “Thank you.” He said. “Sanji you did it again! This is amazing!” Luffy shouted with a mouth full of meat, grabbing a few more pieces. This caused everyone to laugh.
Everyone enjoyed their food and chatted away. You actually started a conversation with Zoro, about his swords and he smiled slightly. “Well-“ Zoro started off, starting a full hour talk about each sword. You just looked fascinated and whole heartedly listened along.
Nami, Luffy and Usopp all left after dinner, leaving Zoro, Sanji and you behind in the kitchen. Zoro got two beers and gave you one as well, which you took gladly. You looked at Sanji who was now smoking and was cleaning in silence.
Zoro asked you about why you really wanted to join the crew. You smiled sadly. “Well, I’m here all on my own, my parents left when I just turned 16. They probably thought it would be better for me to stay here. I worked at the restaurant the past three years and I’ve always had a passion for the Grand line. I never really imagined going away from this place, mainly because it’s not really possible for me to go alone. Then you all came along and Luffy gave me an offer I could not resist, so here I am.” You chuckled slightly at the end of your sentence.
After a few beers and a long conversation, Zoro stood up and stretched. “I’m going to take a shower and head to bed. Welcome to the crew waiter.” He said to you. “Cook.” He mumbled as he left with his remaining beer.
You looked over at Sanji who just finished cleaning everything and was now sweeping the floor. You sighed. “Waiter, what a stupid nickname.” You mumbled towards Sanji. He looked at you and laughed. “Yeah, he is not really original with nicknames. He tends to call me Cook, as you just heard.” He said nervously, not really knowing how to react towards you.
You rested both of your arms on the table you were sitting at and rested your head on them. You didn’t really reply to what he was saying and just kept looking at him. “You need any help?” You asked him after a while. “No i’m good. Thank you Mademoiselle. Pretty girls shouldn’t do cleaning jobs anyway.” He said turning away from you, to hide his blush.
You grabbed the mop and made a soap mixture for the floor. “Well in that case I will get started with mopping the floor.” You said teasingly. Sanji sighed and turned to you. “You’re very stubborn love.” He smiled soflty.
You mopped the floor in silence, just like in the restaurant. It never got awkward between you and Sanji, as if you guys knew each other for an eternity. You were completely in thoughts when you bumped into him. You quickly turned around facing him. You looked around you and saw that you worked in circles and worked your way towards the middle of the room, meaning you were stuck there. You could of course mop behind you as you walk but that’s just extra work.
He laughed and looked around, seeing exactly what you were seeing. “Good job Mademoiselle.” He jumped up the counter and sat down. He patted the place next to him, motioning you should sit next to him. You copied him, while mopping the remainder of the floor and looked at him sheepishly. “Yeah, this was definitely my plan, I knew what I was doing.” You said confidently. He laughed loudly and nodded. “If you wanted to spend more time with me sweetheart, you could’ve asked me.” He said shooting you a smile and biting the inside of his lip.
“Yeah right. So you wanna stay here for a while and talk?” You said stupidly, causing him to laugh. “Ah, Yes definitely, I don’t have anywhere to go anyways.” He said that gesturing to the wet floor. You laughed along and looked around. “So.. How did you become part of the crew?” You asked him, looking at him curiously.
He started to explain the whole situation, from being on the ship while he was still young, to being stuck with Zeff on a rock. “Zeff taught me all that I need to know and I joined this crew, looking for the all blue.” He said smiling weakly. You looked at him confused. “T-the all blue, what is that?” You fully turned to him. Your legs were now touching his side.
His eyes lit up. “The all blue? The all blue is a legendary place where fish from all four seas — the East Blue, the West Blue, the South Blue, the North Blue — all meet. It’s a paradise for a chef like me.” He got really excited and grabbed a book from the cabinet beneath him. He opened it up and showed you all the different kind of fish and you just smiled at him, affectionately.
He looked back at you while explaining everything, seeing that you were actually interested and didn’t think it was boring. His cheeks turned a bright pink colour and he cleared his throat.
You saw this and smiled. “You okay there?” You asked slowly, but kinda teasingly. He looked at the ground. “Look at that, the ground is dry. It was really nice to talk to you mademoiselle but I have to leave.” He got up and rushed out of the kitchen, leaving you alone.
You sighed deeply and left after a second, going back to your shared room.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You opened the door and took a look inside, seeing Nami looking over at a few maps. “Ah just in time!” She smiled. Can you help me figure something out?” Nami asked while she gestured you to come closer. You took a look at the maps and helped her.
It was now late at night, so after Nami and you talked for a bit. Nami and you got ready first bed and you looked at her one more moment. “Nami can I ask you something?” You asked slowly. “Yeah, shoot.” She said, still with her eyes closed.
“What the fuck is going on with Sanji?” One moment he is really nice, and the second he runs off. I just don’t get it.” You explained confusingly, moving your hands around.
Nami laughed and moved over to her side, now facing you. “Look y/n, I can’t explain why he’s acting a certain way“ She started. “-But I can say that you are a really nice person, and yeah, he’s Sanji.” She was now fully grinning. You looked at her, once again very confused. Nami turned around. “Goodnight y/n. You’ll figure it out soon enough.”
With that she dimmed the lights and you were left in complete darkness, feeling confused about not only what was going on with Sanji but about your feelings towards this cook as well.

~~—~~—~~—~~
One day when you were cleaning the tables in the restaurant you worked at, you saw a group of 5 people, who were waiting to be served. You looked around and sighed. This table wasn’t yours to take but everyone was so busy, so you decided to serve them.
You slowly walked up to them and quickly got your notebook and pen from your apron. “Hello my name is y/n and I will be your server for tonight. What can I get started for you all?” The smile you gave was a little one. To be honest, you never did this, you only cleaned tables and helped when necessary so you felt a little bit nervous.
“I want a beer.” the Green-haired boy asked you.
You nodded, wrote it down and looked at the guy next to him.
“I also want a beer, no make it two!” The guy said. “I want a beer too please” The girl said shortly after.
“I want a big glass of cold milk.” The boy with the straw hat said. You were still looking at your notebook when he said that, which made you chuckle slightly, not because you thought it was funny but because you expected it from him somehow.
“Can I have whatever you would normally get mademoiselle?” You looked up from your notepad because you just finished writing down the glass of milk and looked into the most beautiful blue eyes you’ve ever seen. “U-uh y-yeah sure. Do you want it to be a surprise or do you want me to tell you?” You asked curiously.
“Surprise me love.” He said while he winked at you. You felt your cheeks heat up slightly, nodded quickly and walked away to get the drinks. You smiled when you walked to the bar and made it your mission to prank the blond haired flirt.
When you returned with the drinks, The straw hat asked you about something in the Grand line, hoping you would know. You lived in Loguetown so wasn’t unusual at all for someone asking about the Grand line. You answered the question and gave everyone their beer, gave the straw hat their milk and handed the blond haired man a hot chocolate with whipped cream.
He looked confused at the drink, both boys and the girl laughed hysterically and the straw hat sighed loudly. “That looks good Sanji!” The straw hat boy said excitedly as he looked back at you and said without hesitation “I want one of those as well.” You smiled wildly and nodded. You looked over at the boy named Sanji and when he didn’t say anything and was just slightly smiling at the hot cocoa, you took a breath and smiled slightly.
“You said, and correct me if i’m wrong, Can I have whatever you would normally get mademoiselle” You tried saying it the way he said it which made the green haired boy spit out his beer and laugh again. Sanji gave him a nasty glare and when he looked back at you he smiled.
“And you are absolutely correct, I’m just amazed that this is your choice madam.” He chuckled, grabbed the mug and took a sip. “But now that I tasted it, I understand it completely. this is perfect.”
After everyone finished what they ordered, you walked back to the table to give the check to them. Before you could do that, the straw hat boy asked you another question about the Grand line which you answered with ease. He smiled and nodded to the rest.
He then asked another question, and then another which made you laugh but nevertheless you still answered truthfully. When they got the bill the straw hat laughed, signed the bill and looked at you. “Put it on my tab.” He smiled proudly. You smiled slightly and thanked them for dining at the restaurant before leaving them behind.
You took the signed check and put it in your apron, you knew from the moment you laid your eyes on them that they were pirates, not that that scare you, but you thought ‘Maybe someday in the future this could get you a lot of berries’.
What they didn’t see is that you paid for their meal. You didn’t do the ‘put it on the tab’ thing at the restaurant, but had no balls to tell them or to go to the chef about this and let them handle it. They were sweet and try to make you laugh with any chance they got. Besides you didn’t want to inconvenience anyone.
When you were checking if everyone had left, Sanji stood there, the last one in the restaurant and you smiled.
“I’m sorry Sir, but we’re closing.” you said kindly, pointing at the clock which said 11PM.
“Sorry Madam, I couldn’t leave you here, all alone without offering to help.” He smiled and started cleaning the tables. You were shocked and shook your head softly, while you tried to avoid his gaze. “It’s okay Sir, it’s my job anyways to do so, But thank you.”
“Please love, just call me Sanji, even though when you say it, it has a really nice ring to it.” He winked and just continued cleaning the place, while you just stood there watching him, trying to come up with something to say. “And besides mademoiselle, Is it also your job to pay for guests who clearly weren’t gonna pay?” He smiled while he stopped cleaning to lean on the bar and watched you for a reaction.
You quickly looked at your feet again and blushed. He caught you red handed and you didn’t know what to. The both of you cleaned in silence for a bit until you looked over at Sanji, who was humming while he was cleaning, clearly satisfied with what happened earlier.
“Sanji, may I ask you something?” He looked up from sweeping the floor, smiling and waiting for what you were gonna ask him. He absolutely adored it that you called his by his name, catching him slightly off guard.
“Are you really going to the Grand line? Or is that some kind of hyper fixation of the straw hat boy?” He smiled and nodded. “Our captain Luffy, the straw hat boy as you referred him to, wants to become the king of the pirates and we all think we will be able to achieve his dream by going there, so yes. We’re planning to leave tomorrow morning or the day after.”
You just nodded and continued cleaning. For some reason you felt sad that they were able to leave and you weren’t. You are no pirate, just someone who cleans in a restaurant.
Some time had passed and the restaurant was tidied up and ready for the morning shift to start the day. You got your stuff and walked up to the front door, Sanji following your moves and grabbed his coat. He opened the door for you and waited for you to leave.
“After you love.” He simply smiled. You couldn’t help but blush once again. This man made you feel special but you quickly shook it off, thinking he would do this with every girl he saw.
You closed the restaurant, smiled at him and thanked him for helping you. You took a few steps towards your tiny home and got stopped by Sanji, who grabbed your wrist slightly.
“I’m so sorry mademoiselle, Can I ask you something before we part ways?” You smiled before turning around to face him. “Yeah of course. What do you want to know?” He smiled and took a deep breath, trying to contain himself. He was still holding your wrist, scared you disappear if he let you go.
“Why do you know so much about the Grand line?” His question came out just a little bit louder than a whisper.
You sighed and smiled sadly. “It was my dream to know about the Grand line, I always wanted to go there and help people who need me, or who are seeking for some answers. I realized it probably wouldn’t happen anytime soon, because no one really leaves Loguetown on their own.”
When you told him this, his heart broke. He saw how sad you were ‘knowing’ you wouldn’t be able to leave. He was determined to ask Luffy to let you join their crew. They needed you anyways because they weren’t prepared at all.
“It’s a nice dream to have Madam, Maybe it will happen sooner than you think.” He smiled sheepishly and his hand who was holding your wrist, grabbed your hand and he pressed his lips to palm of your hand. “Goodnight mi amore.” With that he left, leaving you confused and speechless in the streets.
~~—~~—~~—~~
When you arrived at the doors of the restaurant the next day, the captain of the straw-hats was there waiting, with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. “Hello.-“ He quickly looked at your nametag “-Y/n. A little birdy told me that you wanted to enter the Grand line. Lucky for the both of us, we need someone who knows a lot and you are the person for the job. What do you say if I wanted you to be a part of my crew?”
You were absolutely flabbergasted. First of all this was your chance to leave Loguetown, a place you didn’t think you would ever be able to leave. Second of all, you ready for a new and long adventure. And ti feel important made you get excited.
You smiled slightly. “Can I maybe think about the offer? When are you leaving?” There was a tone that sounded hopeful, that he maybe wasn’t leaving today. The captain smiled brightly. “The plan was to leave this morning but for you we could extend our stay one extra day?, if that helps with your decision?” He said, even though it sounded like a question.
“That would be great! Thank you. I’ll find you as soon as I have my answer, What is your name?” You asked excitedly, now smiling excitedly. “Monkey D. Luffy, Captain of the straw-hats.” Luffy said proudly.
You nodded and quickly went to work, leaving Luffy alone in front of the restaurant.
~~—~~—~~—~~
The day went slower than normal. You got some time to think about Luffy’s offer. Honestly you knew what your answer was, but didn’t know how to bring it to everyone.
After the shift ended, you had made your decision and had started to make a story how to bring it to your boss. You searched for your boss and after 5 minutes of looking you found him in the kitchen.
“Hey sir, Is there a possibility that we can maybe talk in private please? I have something I need to discuss with you.” You started nervously, trying not to show it to him. He looked up and smiled. “Ah of course y/n. Walk with me please.” You just nodded and followed him silently.
Once you entered his office, you sat down in a chair in front of his desk while he took his own seat. “What is it you wanted to discuss?” He leaned back in his seat and looked at you curiously.
“Well-“ You started off, not fully knowing where to begin. You took a deep breath and looked at your hands. “You know that I know a lot about everything that goes on in the Grand line right?” You looked from your hands and saw him nodding slowly.
“So this group of pirates came to the restaurant yesterday and were asking me questions about it, which I just answered. This morning the captain of the crew came back and asked me to join his crew.” He just smiled slightly, knowing where this was going. “I didn’t gave him an answer yet but I really want to go with them, meaning I need to quit this job.” You took another deep breath and waited for his reaction.
“Very well then. I know how much this means to you and I’m very happy you get to have an opportunity like this. The only thing that I need to know is; Are these people trustworthy?” He asked you while he reached into a cabinet in his desk to grab a pouch, before placing it on the table. “Yes sir, they are, for as far as I know now, trustworthy and kind people. They aren’t like any other pirate group we’ve come across.” You smiled back at him. He nodded and gave you the pouch. “Here are some berries. Enough to keep you going for a while at least. Now even though I hate to say this to you, I need you to grab your stuff and leave. Go on the journey, and when you come back, tell me about everything you’ve come across, pirate y/l/n.”
You smiled. Your boss could be difficult sometimes but seeing him like this made you cry a little bit. You stood up and gave him a hug. “I know this is inappropriate Sir but thank you, thank you for everything you have ever done for me.” With that you left his office, grabbed everything that had belonged to you and left the restaurant without looking back.
You quickly rushed home, grabbed a back, stuffed it with everything you think you needed on this adventure and left your home. Maybe for good. You locked your door, took a few steps back and looked at your tiny house. You took a deep breath and smiled. After you turned around you headed for the docks, to the ship that was gonna become your new home.
