Purposely misgendering and misnaming someone while knowing their correct names and pronouns is incredibly phobic and disgusting. You’re looking at someone and saying “I only support you when I want to and right now I don’t support you, I only support you when it suits me” while knowing full well that it’s wrong, you’re doing that because you’re a disgusting person who only cares about someone when it benefits you. 

By misgendering and misnaming somebody you don’t like for any reason, you’ve established you’ll do that to anybody when the narrative of being a supportive and open person doesn’t fit you anymore. 

It’s not one-upping someone to purposely deadname and/or misgender them, it’s disrespectful and shows just how little you care about those people as a whole. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like them or not, that is literally the absolute basic form of human decency. If you’re going to disrespect them when you want to for whatever bullshit reason you’re coming up with, you’re not a supporter or ally, you’re just a leech.
