He blinked in surprise, freezing slightly. He hadn’t been expecting that answer; he could practically feel his cheeks reddening, and he hated it. This wasn’t him-- he was supposed to be a badass secret agent! Letting out a nervous laugh, he rubbed the back of his neck. “Yeah... Yeah, you should. After all, every hero needs his sidekick....!”

aiden laughed when the other yelled alongside him, the males giggles making him shake his head a little. cute. aiden wasn’t a very nice person, but he had a feeling that the other would be an exception and wouldn’t be on the receiving end of his douchebaggery anytime soon. “hm, you sure? they might get jealous of this gorgeous body of mine~ who knows? i could be a sun god in disguise.” 

The orange-haired hacker immediately let out a gasp, eyes widening as he looked at the male next to him. “A-a sun god in disguise!?” He almost wanted to yell, “I’m in disguise, too!” But he quickly stopped himself. “And you’re choosing to talk to me!? What makes you think a little peasant like myself is worthy of you and your gorgeous, sun god body?!”

“ EVEN if you shower it with lots and lots of love. ” she nodded once. “ definitely, yeah !! it looks real good on a resume when you’re trying to be a vet, so–i’ve been volunteering in shelters for years. ” lainey shrugged. “ there are a lot of ‘em !! we have this one called otis who’s the cutest. you’d love him. he’s always in the mood to play and he loves cuddles. ”

“Aw, man,” he pouted playfully. “Oh, yeah! You want to be a vet? That’s so cool! Have you wanted to be one ever since you were a kid?” he asked, curiously. He remembered when he was a kid, he had decided he wanted to be an alien. Perhaps he would have to settle with astronaut. “Oh my Gosh!! I think Otis is my new... soulmate!” Pixel swooned playfully, clapping his hands in excitement. “Can I meet him?”

He was delighted to see him accompany him in the drumroll; hardly anyone ever did that! He could see he surprised him a little, but that had been his plan.

Biting his lip, smiling widely at the way the other was laughing, he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “I was only expressing myself,” he whined, brown orbs narrowing slightly towards the professor’s direction. “What a bad professor, trying to restrain my creativity!! We should find another school to go to!”

❛All kinds of dogs but pugs and pitbulls are my favorite.❜ she nods. After Matt died his mother let her take care of Ezra, a beautiful grey pitbull they both tried their best to be parents of. Now Ezra lives with her family, she knows he’s in good hands. ❛I have a pitbull back at home. I really miss him, can’t wait to see him again.❜    

“Oh! So cute!” Pixel said with a little grin. “What’s your pitbull’s name? I think if I get a dog, I want it to be a Chow Chow! Those things are amazing. Their faces are all smushy and funny looking.”

At the question, he didn’t skip a beat, smiling at his friend widely. “I suppose I can let you in on it.... You are my trusty sidekick!” he declared, nodding his head vigorously. “It’s.... DRUMROLL, please!” He tapped his fingers on the edge of the desk multiple times, perhaps for too long, before finally announcing loudly, “MY PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENT!!” 

A teacher suddenly stuck his head in through the door, furiously shushing the loud boy, making him flinch slightly. “Oops,” he whispered, lifting his hand slightly, “sorry...” He watched as the professor walked away, barely hearing him grumble under his breath. Turning to Jinwoo, he repeated but this time in a whisper, “My programming assignment!!”

aiden just stared at the male for a moment, looking for any signs that suggested that he was on something. “the what?!” the people aiden seemed to attract, oh boy. he raised his hands to the heavens and promptly flipped the sun off at the mention of the library being cold. “ha! suck it sun gods!” his voice was raised, likely drawing attention to the pair. after a few heartbeats aiden’s arms dropped to his side, attention returning to pixel. “do  you think they’d get pissed if i just stripped and laid on one of the tables?”

The reaction wasn’t surprising; Pixel was used to people questioning him, thinking he was weird. However, he wasn’t expecting what the male did next. He blinked a few times before laughing loudly, clapping his hands. “Yeah, suck it, Sun Gods!!” he hollered along with him, although he didn’t sound anywhere near as powerful considering he was giggling while doing so. It wasn’t everyday that people actually went along with his antics. “Who, the Sun Gods? I don’t think they’d mind, they’re not particularly fussy!” he replied with a goofy smile, even though he knew the other was most likely talking about the librarians.

“Personally,” Sage said with an eye roll, “I think you need to take a break from all that homework and eat some pizza. Besides, pizza helps you focus.” She nodded her head definitively, very sure of herself, given the fact that she knew it was total shit.

Oh, how he wished it was that easy; perhaps college students could take a break from their homework and studying every once in a while, but if Pixel were to casually take a break, someone’s life could be on the line. Then again, this wasn’t an urgent case-- he had all night to work on it. “Alright,” he said reluctantly, chewing on his lower lip. “But I have to go by ten, okay?” Now perking up, he asked, “What kind of pizza are we getting? Please say one with pineapples!”

                                                  nicole nodded, giggling as her eyes squinted just a bit. she really enjoyed pixel’s company. she didn’t feel like he was judging her, and he wasn’t being rude to her. which, sadly enough, was rare for some reason. she must have a tattoo that says ‘treat me like shit’ right across her forehead that she has no idea about. “really?” she asked, a flattered smile on her lips now as she tilted her head to the side a bit. she was never really complimented on her ideas. usually she was patronized and given the equivalent of a pat on the head and a dog treat. 

“Well, yeah! You have an awesome imagination, that’s something the world needs these days!” Pixel spoke genuinely, nodding his head. He knew how important it was to think outside the box-- it was one of the reasons he was one of the best in his field. Hacking involved several different methods and answers; one could not afford to have only one way out every single time. “You’ll see, you’re gonna do great things one day!”

“oh, really? i’ve always had a pet. i couldn’t ever imagine not having one. apart from now…” she sighs slightly, missing her dogs, but knowing it’s for the best that they’re gone. alexia simply just can’t look after any at the moment. “oh gosh! they’re so adorable! i’ve always wanted one of them. they’re so pretty.”

“You should get one! Keep it at your sorority house, it’ll be fine!” he said with a wave of his hand. Considering the fact he wasn’t really a student, he sometimes did not pay attention to the rules as much as he should-- if he got kicked out, he would be screwed, but it was difficult to take school seriously when he wasn’t really there for the degree. “I know, right? Especially the really fluffy ones. Those are the best.”

“Oh damn, now I feel the pressure. But when I named him, my inner geek came out and as a result I named him Loki.” He chuckled, always having said that his first pet would be named that and if he ever got another one, it’d be named Thor. “True. And you don’t want to end up with it being gone and nowhere to be found. Who knows what drunk frat guys will do to it.”

“Loki! I like it, I definitely approve!” he said with a wide grin, nodding his head. “I want to name my pet something computer related. Maybe Gamma, or Byte. Like, with a Y,” he explained. “I don’t even want to think about it,” he shuddered. The whole Greek concept was still a bit confusing to him, considering he was from Korea, but to blend in more as a student, he had joined the one he saw most suited for him. Considering so many students on campus were Greek, he would have only stood out if he wasn’t, and he couldn’t afford that.

He beamed back at his friend, although he couldn’t help but wonder if Jinwoo had ever thought... nasty thoughts about him. The letters couldn’t all be rainbows and unicorns, right? Surely, there would have to be some bitterness there, considering Pixel hadn’t even given him a goodbye. If not for the current situation he was in, the hacker would have brought it up first himself-- he would have apologized. But it was too risky to bring anything up, even if he could come up with some type of lie, some type of story. He hated lying to Jinwoo, but what other option did he have? No one could be trusted.

Blinking, he smiled slightly, keeping it casual-- but on the inside, he wasn’t sure what to do. It would be best if he was alone right now, but he supposed it wouldn’t matter if Jinwoo was sitting with him. “Yeah, of course, that’s fine!” he assured the other, his eyes twinkling even though he certainly felt a bit uneasy on the inside. Scooting away to get back to his own space at the table, he powered on his laptop again. “I’m going to work on my homework, too,” he said, figuring if the boy did see his computer screen, he could easily say that it was simply a coding assignment for his programming class.

“i know that i’ve spent most of the day at the beach, but i’m exhausted,” sage said with a sigh. “you down to watch movies and split a pizza tonight?”

The boy’s eyes lit up at the mention of pizza and having plans in general, then paused, biting his lip. His boss had given him a new job that he needed to finish by the morning, and while he worked fast, he would still be up all night to complete it. “I can’t,” he said with a pout, rubbing the back of his neck. “I have a ton of homework...”

“man, this heat is really killing my style. i’m sweating like a whore in church.” aiden complained, tugging on the sweatshirt he was wearing. “who can i blame for this? our president? that random asshole over there?”

“The Sun Gods!” Pixel declared, his face absolutely straight. He wasn’t religious by any means, nor did he even know if “the sun gods” were really a part of any religion, but it wasn’t unusual for him to blurt out such strange things. “The library’s freezing cold, if that helps!”

“Dotty Schawb?! That sounds like a disease!” Pixel laughed, then realized that might have been offensive. “If you don’t like it, I can make you a way better one. With a normal name. If you go to a bar and they see that, they’ll definitely know it’s a fake!”

“Do you think I look like someone named Dotty Schawb? Because for some reason that’s what the guy put on my fake I.D.” she said looking down at the card. “I think it could still work?”

“It’s nice, but I really have work I need to be doing...” Pixel said with uncertainty in his tone, brown hues flickering over their surroundings. He hated that he could not enjoy the things his classmates did, but it was simply a part of who he was now. Looking over at her, he barely smiled as he bit his lip. “I suppose I could stay a little while longer, though! But just a little bit!”

“I told you that you wouldn’t regret taking a day off and coming to the beach with me.” Naomi said with a sweet smile, tilting her head back and basking in the sun with closed lids and a peaceful expression. “I love the feeling of the sun.” beamed the girl.
