YO YO, It’s Feburary 14th and you know what that means - that’s right, today is the official digital release date for the doujin @playerprophet and I have been working on today for the last few months! Buy it now while it’s still at pre-order price, because the price is going up on Monday!

THE LAST NINE YEARS is an 83 page Metal Gear Solid doujinshi exploring the evolution of Snake and Otacon’s partnership between the games. You can read a preview of the doujin at AO3.

PHYSICAL COPIES We filled the print order this month! We’re getting a good deal from DoujinPress, but they’ve been unable to give us an exact date due to the nature of the discount we took. We anticipate that we’ll be mailing out the books sometime in mid-March, so expect them at your house in early April at the latest (we’ll keep you updated).

SHARING POLICY While pre-orders did cover some of the printing fees, Dawn and I still paid a substantial amount of money out of pocket to send this thing to the printers, so while we don’t mind you sharing the PDF with a friend or two if they want to see it, we’d ask that you strongly encourage your friends to buy it if they liked it. In this vein, if there’s a panel or page that really strikes you, feel free to share it on tumblr/twitter/whatever! We do, after all, want as many people as possible to enjoy this. <3

Multi-tasking.

The less I fuss and over-work, the happier I am with a drawing. Funny how that works! Also trying to make better use of Photoshop brushes.

So @playerprophet​ and @cephiedvariable​ combined their considerable powers to make a Otacon x Solid Snake doujin, The Last Nine Years, and I had the honor of doing some guest art!

I couldn’t decide what the hell I wanted to draw, so the obvious solution was to crank out a bunch of excessively happy stuff with the Egg Family and cram it into one big thing.

Now go! Grab yourself a preorder of the comic and feast your eyes on their hard work!

Dug through some poorly-named PSDs and pulled out some Metal Gear sketches from the end of 2015 that never went anywhere. Now to get back to work on the things that I actually NEED to finish.

Doodling some boring Snake portraits because I’m drunk and have lost control of my life. Plus trying to figure out how the clones might differ from original flavor (more hints of their Japanese surrogate? 10% narrower?) I also like the idea that BB is at least 40% hairier than his sons and Liquid/Solid suck at growing proper, glorious beards.

P.S. Sorry George. You’d just be like, horizontal-flipped BB with grey hair.

Ahhh--! My insides are warm and fuzzy.

But I just wanted to add that you have a great talent for setting a scene/mood, especially when it comes to writing more understated scenarios within universes that are batshit crazy like MGS. And I fucking love it.

Plus you always know how to parse out and expand on characters and their motivations in really satisfying ways.

Based on @cephiedvariable‘s BBKaz fic. By no means the most dramatic part, but I liked the atmosphere of this scene and the juxtaposition of domestic, fatherly stuff with Kaz’s eternal curse duty of telling a Snake what to do.

The proportions on that kitchen are for a very short person, but at least I drew a background for once!

AU where, towards the end, Quiet and Venom get sick of everyone’s bullshit, run off to live in a junky RV somewhere with lots of sun, and have PTSD together. They become that weird couple that occasionally shows up in town and talk to each other in Navajo. Venom collects rocks minerals and has a stash of diamonds that he could probably try to sell, but doesn’t.

P.S. Does he take the arm off to sleep? I don’t think that would be comfortable with all the straps. Same with the eyepatch. Does Quiet even sleep? WHO KNOWS.
