She's a very excitable and boisterous component! She has a toyhouse to read more about her and see more art!!

Through some brainstorming (and pestering from my friends) I have decided to open an ask blog relating to my au, rewrite the starlight!

There is no main character that his ask blog will follow, as you will have the ability to ask any character of the au any question you want. I only ask that you keep the questions sfw.

Finally getting around to posting all my Stex OCs on here! Man I love trains :) Most of them are based on real trains on display at my local railroad museum, and I've got more to come! Deep Abyss: Based on the Southern Railway 2594 Diesel. Why is she a shark? Why NOT. Caldera: Based on the NC&ST.L 710 Diesel. Something something sharkboy and lavagirl joke. Zero: Not based on a real train, but is the freezer truck component for @otterdrawz's electric engine, Enterprise. Zero is a cryogenic freezer truck that uses liquid nitrogen as a coolant! Cupola: Based on the NC&ST.L 41 Caboose, the last surviving NE-3 model caboose. and last but certainly not least, Reel: She's the first Stex OC i ever conceptualized, and she's a cinema coach! Loosely inspired by my own love of film and my time working at a movie theater. Anyways. Trains :)

What’s rewrite the Starlight?

Hi, thank you for the ask.

Rewrite the starlight is a project I have where I basically smush a bunch of stex productions together and make a little slice of life story out of it.

It includes characters from Bochum, Wembley, pre 18. And a few other productions that aren’t really well known.

Most of the slice of life stuff is just characters interacting with eachother, characters getting themselves into situations and then scrambling to get out of them, and some 2 parter drawn out plot episodes.

That’s the basic run down anyway, I have a lot more in depth stuff going on behind the scenes.

So, the runaway freights au, it’s been awhile hasn’t it?

I’ve recently had some motivation to look back on the au, and I remember people actually liking it here. So I thought, hey! Let’s bring it back to make those people happy!

So I give you, updated freight uniforms!

I remember an anon asking for more about the au, but it got lost in the inbox, so shout out to you. But yea, I’m working on it again, so any questions, comments, or concerns about the au, feel free to ask!

Doing the electrics backstories for rewrite the starlight because I’m not strong enough to talks the mass that is the freights/coaches

Electra:

Electra was originally a steamer that never quite felt right about themselves, something just always felt off to them, and when they were offered the chance to become a part of the future by being one of the first few trains converting to electricity, they took it. And suddenly everything clicked for them.

Purse:

The first component. Purse was a money freight who was good friends with Electra before they converted. Purse was “hired” by Electra after coming into a large sum of wealth from the company and had no idea what to do. Purse took care of most of behind the scene work for Electra while Electra took care of the racing.

Wrench:

The second component. When the company and purse brought up that Electra was spending too much for really simple repairs. Electra suggested that they just hire a repair truck to spend less. Now wrench was part of a moderate yard, she didn’t have a lot of work, but still was busy most of the day. And she was surprised that an electric engine would want to talk with her. Electra at first didn’t like her because she kept arguing about the repairs they needed. Purse secretly contracted them as they were the only repair truck to have the guts to yell at Electra.

Krupp:

The third components that Electra hired, Krupp originally faced obscurity in their work place. He was a part of a lot of security divisions and had worked across many rails, but now with the rails becoming safer, the implementation of security trucks and guns being outlawed in many yards and companies. Krupp was struggling to keep himself afloat. It was after an engine tried to crash Electra and Krupp stepped in to stop them that purse asked if he wouldn’t mind sticking around to make sure no one else tried anything.

Volta:

The fourth component was volta. Originally he was an ice cream coach with a different name, but like Electra, he never felt right being a coach. It never suited him. To try and find his purpose he began looking for other jobs, which got him entangled with purse who was looking for an assistant to help manage the work. Volta worked with Electras crew for a month and during that time, went through an entire self discovery arc. When they asked Electra about converting and officially working for them. It was wrench who requested if he could become a freezer truck, to help with some mechanical issues. A finally Volta felt like himself for the first time in his life.

Joule:

Joule was originally a stock car before being forcibly retired due to stock cars being incredibly inefficient. She couldn’t find any work and so enough started doing odd jobs just to stay afloat, often going without any gear so people would know she was a stock car. This had the upside of teaching her how to handle explosives and dangerous objects incredibly well. She met Electra when a job required her to try and fiddle or disrupt a part of them so they would lose. She didn’t succeed as she was caught by Krupp rather quickly. After being interrogated and revealing her whole backstory. Krupp convinced Electra to give her a chance. When asked what kind of freight she was, joule didnt have an answer because a stock car would be useless to an electric engine. Some miscommunication happened with Electra and Volta thinking joule as was unhappy with themselves and wanted to convert. And wrench snuck in and asked if they could become converted to a dynamo truck, again for mechanical help. Joule didn’t bother to correct them.

Killerwatt:

The last component to join, Killerwatt is an intern for Krupp, not Electra. Krupp has a reputation and was asked if he could teach new and upcoming security trucks the ropes. And Killerwatt was the one chosen. Although after w few weeks and Killerwatt proving to be a promising security truck. Electra decided to officially hire them. Killerwatt is still under the guidance of Krupp.

I swear, I love Killerwatt, he just has a very simple past compared to the others.

Can we know more abt the adopted by greaseball or adopted by electra au 🙏

Ooooo, I’ll give you a two in one deal.

The adopted by greaseball au follows closely to the original plot, except instead of ending up in the wembley yard with momma, baby blindra gets dropped off in the yard greaseball was in before moving to the wembley yard. Where she found him. Greaseball originally just was going to hold him for a day and then find someone else to take care of him, but hydra had basically already imprinted on her. So against her better judgment, on a whim. She decided to keep him. Me and my friends have a running gag that in the early days of hydra and greaseball sibling days. Hydra thought he was an engine and greaseball did not have the heart to tell him otherwise. So when race time rolled around, hydra was wanting to enter in beside his big sis and greaseball had to make up a lie about new engines having to be pulled behind another engine before they raced themselves.

Greaseball and hydra racing together was how hydra met lumber, fortunately. Who was stoked that another engine was racing with a freight. Lumber didn’t understand, however, why this freight was so set on the fact he was an engine. And then he learned he was blind, and maybe a big brother sorta sense took over and lumber tried to get closer to hydra, to make sure everything was ok.

And when greaseball finally transferred over to the wembley yard. Lumber had managed to convince Rusty and Porter to befriend him. Slick flat out refused, until she heard he was greaseball little brother, and then she wanted to meet him.

Hydra was originally what made Dinah and greaseball start dating, as Dinah generally liked him and where there was hydra, there was greaseball. So behind hydras back, greaseball and Dinah got together. And despite what the two of them originally thought, hydra was ecstatic to let dinah race with greaseball.

The adopted by Electra au, as I’ve said is hydra being auctioned off by the company who made him after going bankrupt. Electra by chance was convinced by the other components to buy him. And after that, Hydra was integrated into the component line up and became Electras hydrogen truck. The other components trained him to be ready for everything. So he’s a lot more fighty than normal. Also, hydra was sorta a cryptid during his early days as Electra didn’t want the press on him and KW was in charge of making sure he stayed out of camera view. But some dedicated paparazzi managed to get incredibly blurry and info photos of him.

Hydra didn’t really make the best first impression to the other freights, considering he accidentally germen suplexed lumber when they tried to sneak up on him. Slick wanted to know what the deal was with him.

Also green arrow originally was going to race with hydra, because they were both green. Hydra however wanted to save racing until he could race the winning lap with Electra. So Volta took his place.

And in the story the race line-up changes as Electra made good on his promise to take hydra on the winning lap, greaseball still raced with pearl and rusty actually takes Dinah, who broke free of Electra and went to Rusty to get revenge.

That’s some more details about those two aus, me and my friends love to be reminded about these aus and once ever my month wee like “hey, remember when-“.

‘Rewrite the starlight’

It’s exactly what it sounds like, me and some friends started a server off the idea of taking starlight express and smushing all the characters into one yard and making a plot off of it. We’re very smart :)

The thing is it is a relatively big project in of itself, and the server only has about 7 people right now, so I thought

‘hey! The lovely people on tumblr would probably help me and my friends on our journey to rewrite the starlight!’

So I’m cordially inviting my followers and anyone else who would like to help with this project, or just to hangout and talk about aus and stuff to my discord!

I will warn that this is my first server and I’m not good at designing or organizing what so ever, so it will probably be very bare and unorganized right now, fear not, I will get better as time goes by.
