My favourite fan theory about anything is "Gandalf fucked a hobbit once", as an explanation as to why he's so invested in them. Like several generations ago, purely by happenstance he just happened to encounter a fearless Took lass who decided to Fuck That Old Man and by the powers of supreme hobbit reproduction skills, the natural happens.
So Gandalf just goes "ah well fuck, gotta fix this", somehow makes sure she's arranged an excellent marriage, and pays her future husband a visit like "just a heads-up you're going to have an early, unexpectedly large and supremely excellent child and you are going to be nothing but loving and proud of your firstborn, or she is going to become a very rich young widow whose husband tragically died of a mysterious case of Killed By A Wizard, ok?"
And after that he's been visiting here and there to discreetly keep track of which ones are his descendants, and then after keeping track of all of them becomes too much work, decides to narrow down to the ones he's deemed to take after him (the ones the other hobbits think are weird, mostly) until deciding that Bilbo was his favourite. Probably has zero wizard blood in him by now and Gandalf doesn't even consider the hobbits he's been keeping tabs on as his offspring in any way anymore, it's basically a hobby to him by now.
So any time other Maiar or other immortal races notice him keeping an eye on the hobbits and ask him what's his deal with the halflings anyway, he just shrugs and goes "idk I just think they're neat."

I think part of the reason why I disliked season two of arcane — excluding the caitvi nonsense and awful political commentary — is that season two used montages, symbolism, and parallels in place of actual plot and character development.
Jayce’s development was not his own, it was making poor parallels to Viktor. Sevika’s act two arc was based almost entirely off of giving her parallels with Vander, which, again, don’t land because they’re done poorly. Nearly all of the supposed character and plot development shown in season two was just symbolism and parallels packaged as actual material.
Parallels and symbolism should be add ons and Easter eggs that you can see if you pay attention, not the core aspects of a plot. Montages should not replace important dialogue or interactions between the characters. They shouldn’t be used as convenient timeskips so that you can skip over any unseemly parts of the plot and sterilize centrist politics.

Getting sucked into star wars is evil. You just want to watch the movies and end up watching a collective 22 seasons of various shows and then you consider reading the comics or books but have to find out that there are 480+ and 380+ and you reconsider why you ever even began to care.

Juliette Nichols is tiny and greasy and looks like she'd bite you at the smallest provocation but she loves so deeply and can't express it easily and ALSO she's so so smart even if all her braincells sometimes merge into one slightly less smart one because she's so focused on something she forgets everything else to detriment of herself and everyone around her. I love her perfect character 10/10 no notes

What’s crazy about Apple TV is that a chunk of the shows on there are about dystopian leadership filled with religious and corporate overtones IE “I pray to the founders…” “praise be to Keir…” and how keeping people in the dark and lying about their reality is the only way to have ultimate control over humans. And this comes from the most dominating tech company in existence. What’s terrible about this is that they are putting out the most interesting compelling and cinematic television there is right now. It’s very conflicting
