A great 6 months
Beautiful Autumn sunshine playing in the crisp crunchy leaves, enjoying collecting blackberries, though not many brought back for the crumble! Scooping out pumpkin flesh to make a pie, walks around Strethall farm and much, much, more.聽
Firework pictures, explosive and colourful; poppies galore, making our own poppy wreath with lots of little hands to help.聽
Father Christmas came to visit PIPS and parents had the opportunity to have a chat sampling a mince pie and a glass of warm mulled wine.
We do hope you've all had a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

A fabulous summer
It鈥檚 been a fabulous summer, happy children enjoying inside and outside activities, from watching butterflies hatch, to tasting all sorts of fruits and 聽vegetables. 聽A busy summer having picnic teas in the bluebell woods; planting and watering the vegetable plot; making our blossom collage; driving toy vehicles through paint, making caterpillars and decorating butterflies, playing with shaving foam, threading leaves, visiting our furry friends, collecting eggs, baking; learning about the seaside whilst playing in sand with shells and listening for the sea, not to forget sprinkler and paddling pool fun in the glorious summer sunshine. Oh happy days.........

A frenzy of activities
The Autumn term came and went in a frenzy of activities and excitement. 聽From Gruffolo creatures to artistic rustic mobiles and leaf transfers. Halloween activities such as 鈥榩laying in jelly to find amphibious toy creatures, which some of the children enjoyed plunging their hands into green and yellow gelatinous gunk! A colourful display emerged of baby bonfires and fireworks, which the children enjoyed a messy time flicking paint on to their paper to give firework impressions.
Poppies galore to remember such important times gone by before the lead up to Christmas and all that Advent has to offer with our art and craft. Decorated Christmas trees and baubles to hang from your tree; homemade personalised calendars and Christmas cards to put in their very own decorated little bags, as well as all the stars and snowflakes they made which were hung from the ceiling, making everywhere very festive indeed! Not to mention the gingerbread the children made shapes with and iced during the last week of term.
Then finally, last but certainly not least, the infamous visit from Father Christmas and his helpful little elf by his side. Little children inquisitive, waving and peering to get a better look, until it was their turn to receive a gift, bold and brave by themselves, or with the familiarity of a member of staff to steer them through in order to receive their present.
We do hope you all had a very merry and enjoyable Christmas with family and friends. So it is a very happy New Year from all of us at PIPS and may 2016 be a very blessed and prosperous year for one and all.

A very busy autumn
The solar system was finished with the addition of the sun and we moved swiftly on to planet earth where the children had fun rolling a variety of vegetables in paint to see what prints they revealed. Elmer featured in the middle of our Autumnal craft activities, bright and cheery; the handle of the milk containers making perfect trunks, little and large. To continue the Autumn theme our tough spot tray came into its own as the children, armed with tractos and lashings of paint drove up and down the papered tray, to make the back drop for Autumn. From elephants to Gruffoloes creatures from the story emerged, a collage of snakes, foxes and owls. The children all enjoyed helping make Gruffalo crumble and owl ice cream for lunch, yum, best crumble ever!

Summer Fun
The Summer has been a succession of all sorts of fun activities, outside and in. A wonderful collection of home made bugs and creepy crawlies (see our wall display), which kept the children busy outside looking for the little creatures. Some of the children pretended to be butterflies displaying their beautifully coloured wings. Sand and water play in the sunshine was enjoyed by all, as well as more visits to see the cows, chickens and goats. 聽Playing 'sleeping bunnies' in the garden, all incredible still!...... August arrived and the children have been making their own 'Space'. Creative and interactive, take a look at their amazing paintings, as well as their interesting planets and rocket collages. Can't wait to see the sun, it's looking very orange and hot.

A fun packed May...
making blossom pictures, watching our caterpillars change into beautiful Red Admiral butterflies, in our butterfly garden. Going on nature walks and painting ladybirds, just to mention a few things we've been up to at PIPS. 聽The children had a great time in the blue bell wood setting our butterflies free onto the flowers and watching 聽them flutter away.

Spring is here
Sunny spring like days to enjoy simple pleasures. 聽Walks to the farm to collect eggs, feed the hens and watch the chicks. Mud week was a great success and the warm weather added to their enjoyment of getting extremely dirty. The temptation was too great not too get thoroughly wet by splashing and squirting each other with water, at least it cleaned them up little! Great interest evolved when looking at and feeling frogs spawn, as well as planting cress seeds.

A fun filled March
A busy March, making spring flower pictures; creating wonderful flower collages for Mother's Day; baking and decorating biscuits for red nose day and raising 拢55.00 on the day from donations for the yummy treats! Beautiful rainbows, bouncing lambs in meadows and making Easter cards for Mummy's and Daddy's. This last week the children have enjoyed making their Easter nests, too much of a temptation not to try a little chocolate shredded wheat and their tiny eggs. Easter chick cards personalised by the children's little hand prints to take home to wish their families a very Happy Easter!

Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year proved lots of fun with the children tasting an assortment of tasty oriental treats, showing their agility with the use of chopsticks! We all learnt to say Happy New Year in Cantonese and the children enjoyed making their Chinese dragon puppets. The children were thrilled with their special key ring present to mark the occasion as well as their own red envelope with chocolate coins inside. A wonderful week, thank you to all the parents who gave so very generously and for the presents as well.

Mini beasts
Our mini beast topic has been a great success from keeping an ever watchful eye on our caterpillars transform into butterflies, to exploring the garden in search of bugs and beetles to making butterfly wings and flying around the garden, plus a whole lot more!

Horsing around
Mini beasts is our next topic, but what's this! Certainly no mini beast! 聽The children enjoyed the company of Chance this week, even Kamila was left reading to herself during story time as Chance wondered up to the nursery garden to say "Hello" to the children!

Jack and the Beanstalk
The children are now very familiar with 'The Jack and The Beanstalk' story! We've made Daisy the cow, giants, golden hens and beautiful golden harps. The children continue to water the beans; how magically tall they will grow, we do not know yet. However they have enjoyed playing in the very long grass under the trees which has definitely grown very tall and enjoyed magical moments in the garden.

Magic beans...almost
We may not have magic beans like Jack but we're planting them all the same. 聽Plenty of watering in the warm May sunshine and enjoying our morning snack in the garden, listening to a story or two.
