Hello tumblr. I wrote a children's short story while sleep deprived yesterday and I feel an urge to show people.

There once was a boy made of wood

Pinocchio his name were

He wished to be moral and good

But dreaded to wish for more

But one day he had a wish

A want that had been growing for long

He went to his father, who sat by the bowl of the fish

“Papa, I wish to be a real boy. I know that my wish is not wrong!”

“But you are wood and that is it.”

Pinocchio was then to sit

“But papa, I am real inside.”

“My son you’re made from plank and nail."

"But papa, I am real in my mind!"

"But human life is weak and frail.”

“But papa it is what I want!”

“Pinocchio, you surely can't.”

“Father, please, I know I need.”

“But son, you do not cry or bleed.”

“But still l want, I want to be!”

“My son, you should not become like me.”

“But father, you do not listen to my need!”

“My son, you do not toil the fields.”

“I could, papa, if you let me!”

“But you are wood, for flesh unfit.”

And so he was wood, and that was it.

The wooden boy was deeply hurt

He wandered deep into the wood

He walked and walked until he found

A clearing where the light touched ground

There stood a fairy, tall and fine

And beckoned him to come to her

She told him she was mother pine

And asked him what was his problems were

“Dear mother Pine, I want to be real.”

“But boy, you do not cry or bleed.”

“Oh mother Pine, I’ve heard this all. I truly want with all my heart.”

“But are you sure you wish to be? To be real is not all it seems.”
