When dating Wanderer, don't expect him to know what to do. Even though he's lived for centuries, that doesn't mean he's been in a relationship with anyone before. Consider being his first, it wouldn't be so bad.

You would probably have to explain the concepts of love to him, the feelings he feel in his chest whenever he looks at you or when you hold his hand. It takes quite some time to explain it to him but he's able to grasp it quick.

Wanderer can either be blunt about his needs or quiet about them, there's no in-between. There's times where he can be clingy, holding you down, and feeling your warm body against his cold one, and there's other times where you'll have to reach out to him and suggest ideas, which Wanderer quickly agrees to.

Even though Wanderer is much more kinder and humble, just expect him to still have some traits from the Balladeer. For example, he can get quite cocky when he's able to pass his exams with a higher score than yours— or when he beats you in a round of TCG. (please tell me if I spelt it correctly.)

Speaking about dates— It's either you explaining what a date between two lovers is or him finding out himself with the help of books. If he found out by his books, he would bluntly ask you to go on a date with him while blushing furiously like an angry cat.

Going on this little date of yours includes Wanderer being furiously awkward. Like when he doesn't know where to take you— but don't worry, he's creative enough to figure it out. Just so you know, the date wasn't so bad, not unless you hate heights of course.

You'd stare at him curiously as his eyes crinkled shut, mouth falling agape when tears began to slide down his cheeks. Cautiously, you’d thumb them away, feeling the smooth planes of his face crinkle as he squinted at you through his blurred vision. He was definitely embarrassed, but he couldn’t refuse your touch - it was a form of affection he’d never gotten to experience, and his sobs were almost ones of relief at finally finding someone who’d give him the love he craved.

Once he discovered the idea of physical affection, he couldn’t go without it. He liked to be touching you at all times, and would not-so-subtly sulk whenever you were too busy to give him those fluttering pecks on his face. Scaramouche would shyly put up a display of nonchalance as he pretended not to care, only finding himself somehow in your lap again. “You’re laughing at me.”

That was your cue to peck his lips as he froze up, overwhelmed. At night, Scaramouche wouldn’t be able to sleep without you at his side. Even in the almost unbearable heat of summer, he’d have you entangled in his arms in an unrelenting grip. If you tried to wriggle away, he’d only whine in annoyance and clutch you closer, wriggling to position his face in your neck. Getting up to fetch a glass of water wasn’t an option, either - the vice grip he had on your wrist was enough of a warning. Even if you managed to escape that, you’d find him beside you at the kitchen in an instant. He’d groggily tug at your wrist to lead you back to bed, irritated at the interruption. Despite this, he’s still so easily flustered - although thankfully, he no longer defaults to crying whenever he’s overwhelmed with happiness. He’d be willing to begrudgingly share all his vulnerabilities with you, slowly opening up. Don’t tease him about it, though - he’s still prone to hissing at you, but he can’t really get mad at you.

After all, you’re the only one who can make him feel this loved.

i need to get this off of my chest. i know i’m probably gonna get dislikes and lose followers but that’s not of my concern rn.

i like wanderer more than scaramouche. and yes i mean it lore wise.

fatui era scaramouche is iconic, his red, black and purple scheme fits him well and he had the best entrances and little plot twists in the game but! during his fatui era he wasn’t in the best state of mind. he was constantly abused, tortured and neglected and therefore his mind and mentality got used to it and became influenced.

wanderer scaramouche is slowly healing from all those trauma. the reason he got an anemo vision has a reason and it is to break free from his torturous life cycle and finally have a free will of his own, no longer being the puppet that everyone controlled when they had the chance.

just because wanderer is free from the fatui now doesn’t mean he has let go of his past unhealthy coping mechanisms - cue his favorite taste in food being bitterness, always doing something to pay back, even the smallest shreds of kindness must be paid back, he must be useful to something or someone in one way, traumas - cue the mental breakdown he had during the cutscene of the sumeru archon quest.

in my humblest opinion, wanderer scaramouche is the best version of scaramouche. wanderer scaramouche is the free bird flying outside of the cage while the fatui era scaramouche watches from inside the cage - fooling himself that he is free.
