SPOT IT: YVES SAINT LAURENT TOUCHE ÉCLAT BLUR PRIMER AND PERFECTOR
These new products will give you blurry vision—and that’s a good thing.
Between retouching and Instagram, nobody truly looks like their latest selfie of the day in real life. Until now. Yves Saint Laurent’s latest revolutionary beauty products will give you imperfection-blurring technology normally only available via our flattering filter friends Rise, Nashville, or Valencia. Expanding on its immensely popular Touche Éclat collection—which includes the beloved Radiant Touch and Illuminating Foundation—the Touche Éclat Blur Primer and Touche Éclat Blur Perfector help create the look of a flawless complexion by minimizing pores, smoothing lines, and turning up the brightness for radiant skin. The primer keeps your makeup lasting all day and the beautiful golden specks in the formula give you a fairy-dusted glow, while the blur compact invisibly glides over foundation for an extra boost of smoothness. The Sephora Glossy has the expert tips to applying these blurring beauties. Read below for the pointers, and be prepared to go filter free from here on out. JESSICA VELEZ
Before Makeup
Use: Touche Éclat Blur Primer
The primer in this regal bottle might look too pretty to use, but you’re not going to get the blurring benefits just looking at it. To get started, apply a single pump of the sparkly formula to the back of your hand so you can control how much you apply. Then, use a foundation brush or your fingers and apply it to the center of your face, blending outward. The formula’s texture might feel oily at first, but it quickly mattifies into a smooth consistency. Let the primer melt into your skin for at least 10 seconds before you move on to foundation.
After Makeup
Use: Touche Éclat Blur Perfector
While other finishers simply set makeup, the blur perfector takes it a step further by setting and blurring. At first, it glides on as a smooth balm, but it quickly mattifies into a powdered texture. It also provides an allover rosy glow. And you can even use it on days when you want to go foundation free by applying the Perfector in soft, sweeping motions starting from the center of your face and then blending outward with the accompanying sponge. Or, use it as a finishing powder by tapping the texture—without sweeping—on areas with visible pores or shininess.
