Male Guide to Electrolysis

It used to be that male interest in hair removal often came at a later stage in life due to the heavier pilosity that comes with age and hormonal changes. For years many men resisted attempts at intervention. However, more men are becoming interested in fussing with their appearance and particularly in going hair free if not in whole then at least in part. Grooming and self-care is a very hot topic for men these days. Whether it’s purely for aesthetic reasons, a sporting requirement or just a confidence boost permanent hair removal aka electrolysis is the best option. No need to tackle it all at once though. For a clean look, men can start with cleaning up that hard to reach nape, ears, cheeks (beard line), uni-brow, shoulders, underarms, lower back, hands, feet and neck line.

Some tips before coming in for a consultation or an appointment for actual electrolysis hair removal: (1) You must have hair present and it must be long enough to successfully be pulled with tweezers. It is recommended that you do not shave for at least three days prior to visiting your electrologist. (2) Avoid any skin treatments that will sensitize your skin such as chemical peels, in the days before your appointment. (3) If work is to be done on the body, wear loose fitting clothes as air circulation is important for proper healing and tight clothing can lead to agitation of the treated area.
