That I think you’re pretty damn cool, and could totally use a hug right now, or something??” Sonic was sort of joking, because when was he not, but also was just glad to have the other near him. It was great to be in his presence. Comforting, almost, to know that they had each other’s backs.

  “Hmm... I am not sure that I like this, but I shall follow you wherever you take me.” Knuckles was prepared to defend the both of them from any sort of attacker, as he could probably make a guess that Sonic had not gone ahead to scout out this place himself. It was a little worrisome, sometimes, with how reckless this one could be.

He spread his arms out, motioning to the trees around him. “But this is the great outdoors, fresh air! And…the location of a cave system that may or may not be housing a super-important-secret-thing.” He added that last bit while studying his…well, where his nails would be if he wasn’t wearing gloves. Essentially, very smug, as though this was really an impressive bit of intel. I said secret too right? Doesn’t sound as cool if it’s not a secret.

   “A... secret-thing? What is that?” Now, he was a little more curious than wary, as he probably should be more of the latter. Still, Knuckles thought that he and his friend could handle whatever might be lurking in a place like a cave. So, he was not that worried, honestly. “I do not like the idea of keeping secrets from one another, Sonic. Just letting you know my feelings in this moment.”
