random question about art commissions maybe stupid but idc. just want to know how many artists find this pricing system convenient. this one⬇️ where price goes up depending on how much of a character is on the canvas

because it surely is the most popular way to price art on social media but sometimes i feel like some people use it just because everyone else uses it. i also used to price my art like this before realizing it doesn’t work for me

ofc it’s all personal and dependents on artist and their art style. i get that it’s harder to draw a whole person than just a head. but usually artists draw on ~ the same size of canvas no matter if it’s portrait or fullbody. which means head on fullbody piece usually will take waaay less space than on portrait piece which means it will be less detailed which means it costs less than a portrait piece head. maybe it’s just my problem as a person with semi realistic art style? like i’ll draw every hair in a beard and every pimple on portrait piece but ofc i’m not gonna do that on fullbody piece cause there’s not enough space and it’s just not worth it

so yeah. if you price commissions like this i just wanna know if this system really works for you or you chose it because everyone uses it?
