DOG VS CAT:
Which one is better?
The first reason is dogs can always protect you. Mostly, people will choose to have dogs to protect their houses. Dogs can be trained to be guard dogs and besides that, there are so many cases when dogs can protect people's houses from thiefs or protect their owners from people who want to hurt them. The dogs instinct will always work to make sure you are safe, for example, the story of Axel, the dog that saved his owner from an armed thief, injured himself and ended up wounded. What about cats? You can’t tell your cats to bark when there's a thief, can you? They might be following the thief or even become the thief's pet after a snack or fish, like my friend' cat which has been gone after playing with a thief. At the beginning, the thief came to my friend' house pretended to have a conversation about renting a room for a few months. When my friend' mother went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea, the thief ran away with their tv, smartphone and the cat. Cats are countable, aren't they?
The second reason is dogs are loyal. Of course, you have heard a lot of stories about how loyal the dogs can be, like the famous story of Hachiko, Bobby (the dog that has been running for six months only to meet his owner again), Constantine (the dog that kept waiting for his owner who's dead in a car accident), Ruswarp (the dog that kept accompanied his owner' dead body without leave him or eat him due to Ruswarp hungriness, until people found them a week after his owner' dead), and a lots of more dogs that made people willingly created a statue to honor them. Dogs will always wait for you every time you leave them, and they will be super happy when you come back home. They will always stay by your side in every situation, like when you are sad or even when you are in tears, like my dogs that will always stick with me, no matter how bad my mood was. How about cats? They won't even look at you when you call their name. You need a miracle to make your cats stay as yours because once they get food from other houses, they will stick to them easily and forget about you.
The last reason is dogs are smart. They can respond when you call their name or even when you talk to them. They always have some ways to cheer you up when you look sad or lonely. You can teach your dogs some tricks, and some of them can even argue with you like when you are discussing something with your friends. Some kinds of dogs have the function as service dogs, emotional support dogs or therapy dogs. They have to do a lot of things in order to help people with disabilities and/or people who have trauma or stress. As you usually hear, another function of dogs is they can be police officers' partners or K-9 units. It is easy to see that dogs are countable, right? What about cats? Of course, they are smart, they do. However, they prefer to use their brains to make sure they can steal your fish, food or snacks. Don't forget to keep watching over your food when your cats are there!
I cannot say that cats are the worst pet ever, but based on facts, you should go for a dog than a cat. For those reasons that I mentioned earlier, I postulate that dogs are better than cats because they will always make sure that you are safe, they will always be there for you in every condition, and you can count on them after you train them. You will definitely be happy with dogs staying by your side. As M.K Clinton says, “The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog”, so why don't you try to have one?

Refer to the paper "Don't worry about falling" by Warren Bennis and Burt Nanus (1985) failure should not be a thing that people are afraid of. By being failed, people will learn from their mistakes and be better. Like walking on a tightrope, most of the people are more focused on their fear of falling than walking. This is the point why people fail, because they are afraid. People should not be afraid of falling, as William Smithburg said, "If you are not falling down, you're not learning". According to that statement, the best way to be a successful person is to accept your failures and learn to be better. It is the only way to grow and to be the best version of yourself.

My hometown is Luwuk, a small city located in Central Celebes. Luwuk is a clean and beautiful city which society are friendly. As you can see in the pictures, Luwuk has some beautiful beaches with great sceneries that you can enjoy. The tourist destination places are clean since it is under the government maintenance. The most important thing is you can easily come and explore Luwuk city even if it is your first time visiting this city because the citizens of Luwuk are super friendly. They will guide you to your destinations only by asking to them randomly. Most of the travellers loves to visit the other countries, and the question that comes to my mind is "why don't you consider to explore your own country?" As wise man says "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", so don't forget to have a step in Luwuk!

Writing in English is a thing that people usually find out complicated. The challenges that people usually face when they are writing in English are mostly similar from one another, but for me, personally, I think grammar, word choice, spelling and punctuation marks are the main challenges that are hard to face. Beside that, our mood, idea and how we develop the topic are another aspects that I can consider as the challenges, too. Those things can be considered as threats for the writers to create a lot of good writings.
My expectation from taking Writing for the Media course is only one thing. I hope that I can be a better writer, so that I can proudly say that I am a good writer in English.
