at the pre-show someone should ask dan and phil something like “who’s your celebrity crush aside from each other?” because I know dan would get that deadpan disappointed-but-begrudgingly-amused look and then go in a high-pitched tone “are we celebrities though? do we count as celebrities?” -turns to phil- “phil, do you feel like a celebrity?” and phil, already dissociating “yes!”. and then they proceed to completely ignore (but pointedly not deny) the incriminating part of the question and go on a rant about how hot chris hemsworth or whoever is

The funniest thing to me was that Phil was both Dan’s husband and wife this video but Dan was just Phil’s coworker

dan doesn’t want to get married (valid) but he still wants people to see phil as his forever person. like he will cringe at the word ‘husband’ but still make sure everyone sees a video of him pushing phil, a grown ass man, up a hill like a toddler because that’s HIS grown ass man and only he gets to have him and indulge him and pamper him. he just doesn’t want the word for that to be ‘husband’ (or boyfriend). he’s like “we’re immortal tortoises, we’re soulmates, best friends, companions through life” and people go “okay so you’re a couple then?” and he becomes that gif of emma roberts in scream queens where she huffs all frustrated because nooo they’re not a couple, other people, normal people with boring normal relationships are couples and husbands and boyfriends. what he and phil are to each other is so much bigger and more complex and nuanced and unfathomable and no one can understand it. he really thinks he and phil are the first and only people to experience a lifetime kind of love that feels like fate. and honestly who are we to tell him he’s wrong.
