December Sunday 15th 19h30 Smaro Gregoriadou-guitar recital La Plantation concert hall ☎️51661201 Wechat : laplantation Greek guitar soloist, composer and music pedagogue Smaro Gregoriadou attempts a redefinition of the classical guitar's sound, technique and transcriptions, through her innovative "Reinventing guitar!" approach on interpretation, exploiting Kertsopoulos Aesthetics platform of inventions (instruments, strings, tuning combinations, acoustic applications). Her overall artistic work has generated enthusiastic response worldwide. As the eminent American critic Raymond Tuttle put it: "Gregoriadou evokes musicians such as Horowitz, Gould and Landowska in her willingness and need to find a new way to express herself and reanimate the music, without letting innovation become an end in itself. (Fanfare, Nov/Dec 2012) Smaro has studied with distinguished specialists of our time, including pianist-conductor George Hadjinikos; guitarists George Kertsopoulos, Jesus Castro-Balbi, Paul Galbraith and Roberto Aussel, among many others; also composers George Sioras, Theodore Antoniou and Dinos Konstandinidis. She has been awarded a Senior Exhibitioner Scholarship to continue her postgraduate classical guitar studies with Carlos Bonnel at the Royal College of Music, London. She won numerous international music awards both for composition and solo guitar interpretation and appeared as soloist in Europe, Russia, Canada, the USA and Australia. She collaborated with major orchestras and chamber music groups in Greece and abroad. Her compositions have been commissioned and premiered by important artistic institutions and ensembles worldwide: ALEA III, Ensemble Octandre, Helsinki Chamber Ensemble, Open Source Guitars, Biennale Rome, Trossingen University of Music, Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens, and many others. She is a member of the Greek Composers Union. She conducts solo and ensemble classical guitar workshops and multi-disciplinary artistic projects titled "Inclusive Interpretation and Functional Technique." Jiang performed Grieg's piano concerto in A minor withTianjin Symphony Orchestra in the age of 13, and then went to Moscow for music study when he was 15. After graduating with excellent academic record from Central Music School of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Jiang went on to seek for further education in Tchaikovsky Conservatory as well as in Folkwang University of Arts and Zurich University of Arts. Jiang has learned from the famous Russian pianist Andrei Zhavaronkov, organist Professor Alexei Parshin, Professor Christian Rieger, harpsichord soloist and figured bass player of Musica Antiqua Köln, and Professor Andreas Jost, organist of Grossmünster in Zurich andone of the most important and famous organist in Europa, Jean-Claude Zehnder. Jiang has been invited to perform in recitals, chamber concerts and art festivals in different countries repeatedly, his footprints covering various concert halls and churches in major cities like Moscow, Cologne, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Hamburg, Dresden and Hannover. The Rheinische Post has highly praised his superb performance in the Ruhr Region Music Festival and "Holz a la cart" Art Festival. Jiang has performed in collaboration with many famous baroque music players, including traverse flutists Marc Hantai, Michael-Schmidt Casdorff, and Claire Genewein, Baroque violinists Midori Seiler and Mayumi Hirasiki and Baroque cellist Markus Möllenberg.
