what jinu allegedly did in canon for saja boys to become successful:

recruit four demon members and somehow convince them to join his boyband BEFORE getting Gwi-Ma's approval

taught them how to do different, but synchronized poses on cue

watch over and learn the evolution of modern kpop music, culture, fashion, and fandom

song lyricist & choreographer where he wrote (atleast) two singles and planned every move and expression.

made sure some of the choreo was memorable and easy enough to replicate and go trending

design brand collaterals like the soda cans, billboards, train displays, posters, ad videos, light sticks, oh and the logo too

basically a social media manager to create, edit, and schedule their social media posts

plan a photo and video shoot with the saja boys

record a studio version of soda pop and release it on streaming platforms

publicist where he basically booked them to the variety show, created a PR campaign and all to create hype for their first debut show in public to have some audience (the huntrix girls noted that there were more people than usual in the area before the saja boys' first performance)

gave the boys PR training

booked an entire stadium for the midnight concert

did a kpop boyband bootcamp to wrangle four demons into becoming the perfect idol to act, sing and dance

probably did a 1on1 for each saja boy too to create and establish their character

Did he also have to come up with the concepts and the marketing or is there like a demon thats rlly good at photoshop? Or if its all Jinu that means he had to teach himself fucking adobe after effects and how to use tiktok. Also how did he even research how to make a boy group was he in the trenches of BTS comment sections??? God the more I think about the Saja Boys the funnier it gets

BTS/Commentary, Gone Girl

Welcome to Penelope’s POV!!! I hate writing from multiple POVs!!!!! I shot myself in the foot by writing this story with multiple POVs!!!!! It was necessary, and I did it anyway!!!!!

- I originally wrote this story in chronological order. It made it easier to keep track of events. I highly recommend it if you’re a masochist like me who enjoys writing nonlinear nonsense. 

- I feel like Penelope at this point in the story is too immersed in what she’s doing to really care about whatever Colin’s got going through his head. There’s too much going on around her to be minding him, and this Penelope is one that has spent so much of her time away surrounded by people who are intelligent, adept, and deeply competent people. It would be hard for her to switch gears and expand her social horizon to welcome somebody who is not already aware of what’s happening. 

- Colin has taken Eloise’s advice to heart, though—he may not know everything, but he’s decided that the most important thing is that he loves Penelope. He only needed one little step to confirm, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is in, which he does when he totters up to her front door and asks for a smooch. 

- Of course, that the kiss wakes a little of that sweet girl she used to be is an unplanned benefit for Colin. It may have cemented his decision to pursue this relationship with her on his end, but for Penelope, Colin is now representative of a side of her that she had to squash to be able to survive this long, and it yanks her out of survival mode and back into being that soft girl she used to be. It’s the first crack in the wall. Suddenly, this girl who’s built herself up into such a  powerful person is just a young girl again. It’s the closest she gets to pre-attack Penelope, and indeed even pre-debut Penelope, who only wanted to love and be loved in return. 

- Penelope thinks a lot about how she has come far enough that she doesn’t need Mayfair anymore, and she’s right. She no longer needs people, with how far she’s come. She’ll survive without Mayfair. Which leaves her in the unique position of deciding only if she wants them. Does she want Colin and the potential complications of involving him in her life? Does the want the drama of having to explain her every step to some guy? The answer is no—Penelope has spent too long as her own master to willingly hand the reins to somebody else. She has some softening to do, but Colin has work to do, too. 

- It never once occurred to me when I was writing this to make Penelope really hold it against Colin what he said at the Featherington Ball. Like…Penelope no longer even cares about the people he said it to, and she’s waaaay over Mayfair as a whole. Colin’s betrayal as a friend? Not as behind her as she’d like to think. The way he said it stung. She never expected much from Mayfair, but Colin? She had expected better. To realize he hadn’t been true…it hurt more than anything Cressida’s ever done to her, and Penelope has used those words to nail the steel she’s encased her heart in ever since. This means that in order for Colin to pry that steel from her heart, he’ll have to directly address those nails, because Penelope tends to remember the people who cut her. That is a trademark of Penelope’s character that has stayed: the loooooong memory.

All in all, these chapters are meant to showcase the bits of the girl she was in the woman she’s become. She’s barreling at full speed towards what might be her own death and has made the holiest of all Hail Marys as a gambit to keep herself from being killed. She’s as alive now as she’s ever been, but anybody can say they’ve changed easily. Penelope’s growth can only be truly measured once she’s up against her childhood fantasies and temptations, and we can finally have a look at how she fares when pitted against them to see how far she’s come.
