Clicks and Giggles: How My Film Camera Steals Moments (and Hearts) ♥︎

I feel like a sneaky time thief, capturing my friends in their most hilariously unguarded and heartwarming moments. like that one time Minji tried to act cool and pose against a wall, but ended up losing her balance and slid down in slow motion, making the rest of us double over in laughter. Or when Danielle insisted on holding a “dramatic” pose for five minutes straight, only to burst into giggles because she couldn’t take herself seriously. The click immortalized both her overly serious pout and her uncontrollable laugh that followed.

Haerin is my favorite to photograph because she’s like a magnet for chaos. There was this one time when she got tangled in a scarf while trying to mimic an old Hollywood movie scene—it looked more like a ghost auditioning for a comedy. Click! And of course, how could I forget Hyein, who has mastered the art of the accidental photobomb?

Each click captures more than just their faces—it’s the feeling of being surrounded by love, silliness, and endless joy. My film camera isn’t just documenting memories; it’s preserving these tiny, chaotic pieces of magic. Sure, I could use my phone, but where’s the fun in that?

One of my absolute favorite photos is of Haerin and Hyein hugging each other, and it’s the kind of picture that makes you want to stare at it forever. It was a completely candid moment—Hyein had tripped over her own feet (classic), and Haerin rushed over, laughing, to help her up. But instead of getting up right away, Hyein just threw her arms around Haerin in this big, squishy hug, and Haerin, caught off guard, hugged her back with the sweetest, softest smile. The click captured everything perfectly: the way their arms were wrapped so tightly around each other, like they were each other’s safe place. When I first saw the photo, my heart practically melted into a puddle.. I think I stared at it for ten minutes straight, just feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s the kind of picture that makes you believe in the magic of friendship.
