I'm sorry that's happened to you and others. As an author, plagiarism is the worst, especially if said person stealing ends up more popular than you are.

I also admire your restraint because I know I would be a vicious harpy of doom if it happened to me.

Nerdy Nummies Uncredited Idea/Recipe Post

Rosanna Pansino has developed a pretty bad reputation with other food bloggers/youtubers for using ideas and recipes without giving proper credit. Everyone that makes fandom food works really hard to come up with creative ideas, and it’s very quick and easy to do things the right way. All you have to do is add two words: “inspired by” or “adapted from.” Follow it up with a courtesy link back and you’re in the clear!

That’s why it’s so confusing to me that Rosanna continues to take ideas and recipes and fail to credit where she got them. It wouldn’t reduce her viewcount and it would certainly help the original creators, many of whom are less well-known food bloggers/youtubers trying to build their audience. 

I got into a conversation with some of my food blogger friends about this, and it motivated me to put together a list of the incidents I know of. Some of them helped me with this as well – you know who you are! Thank you for your time.

I really tried to keep this list fair. Some items, like the unicorn poop cookies and Portal cake, are so common that you can’t really fault anyone for making videos of them. I also omitted any recipe where I saw Rosanna give proper credit. There’s nothing wrong with recreating a recipe or design someone else made as long as you’re up front about it!

Let me be clear: I feel Rosanna is clearly creative and she has solid baking skills. I just really, really wish she’d credit people where it’s appropriate, especially since her audience is so massive.

Honestly, at this point I just stopped adding things because I was exhausted. I also didn’t feel like digging up stuff further back than 2013, so there you have it.

Once again, all I want is for people to get proper credit! I don’t hate Rosanna. I don’t want her channel to fail. I don’t want her to stop making nerdy food. I just want her to do the decent thing and give credit where it’s appropriate. As a content creator, she should understand why that’s important.

I have a favor to ask

Inkitt has a contest going on and the grand prize is getting an agent to look at your work. I ask of you to give me a vote. The novel in question is Dandelion Princess, which was born of a desire to write a K-drama. Thus, it has an all Asian cast. The novel starts as a romance, but as it goes on, it becomes a political drama. All of my novels have minority leads. This is because I grew up without minority leads (I am in my late twenties) and I wanted to create stories with characters that show that our looks and differences are nothing compared to what we do. As MLK said, “...not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.  Thank you. I really cannot express how much I appreciate the support.

VOLTAGE FANDOM PLEASE HELP There was a love poem that dealt with themes of love through different lifetimes, and how the author followed and searched for his true love in every life lived. Someone did an edit that put the voltage men on it. I thought I reblogged it, but I hadn't find it anywhere. I think this was made around the time or before Kissed By The Baddest Bidder came out. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Guilty Alice: Cheshire Cat Let’s Play and Review

For the Let’s Play, please click here to see it on my review site. It’s way too long to even attempt to post here. My review style and tumblr’s layouts don’t mesh well :( This was a fantastic route. Noir is mysterious and scarred, and you do get a sense of them opening up to each other as time passes. Yui is a great heroine to play avatar to. She is righteous and courageous and the moments where her and Noir go back and forth in their playful bickering are adorable. They’re a great couple and it’s fun reading their interactions.

The only bad thing I have to say about this route is that is not quite as exciting as I thought it would be, but everything else more than makes up for it. The last ending arc in particular is something I would have never predicted!

Of the two routes, Alice and Sweet, I preferred Sweet. Alice doesn’t quite have the same charm to the choices, their little banters aren’t as cute, and the ending wasn’t nearly as romantic or good. There’s also several elements of the story that lose their heart afterwards. While in Sweet there’s a believable romance, in Alice the ending has more of a scripted feel. I like they they went out of their way to have two endings, but there is clearly a best route here.
