Word as Image
New York-based designer Ji Lee ongoing series thats nearly 20 years in the making began as an assignment for his typography class while in art school. The students were asked to play with letter forms and crack into their creative potential. Since then Lee has made it a lifelong project to keep cracking words and above are a few favourites out of the many Lee has created. You can view more of his work on his website.

Wall Excavation, Daniel Arsham
By digging through a series of faux-concrete walls, contemporary artist Daniel Arsham has surveyed the interaction between man and architecture - particularly human’s capacity for creating, destroying and repurposing the manmade and natural world.
Beginning with a crudely cut, abstract aperture, the repeated sequence of carvings finally becomes the silhouette of a human figure.
