I. These are the lyrics that I think fuck me up the most. He dreamed of this and he should be able to enjoy it but we turned it bitter. And he’s alone now with no one to complain to but the very people who ruined his dream.

Okay, so, the alternating HV and FH symbols in the Caramel video were binary code, translating to “DAMOCLES”

And the image shown after the “code” was this sword hanging by a thread above a crown.

I’m speechless and sad is an understatement.

The ending of the Lore…

So parts of this fandom seem to have been up in arms recently over some comments made by Tobias in the NME interview, and I… have thoughts.

For some fans, the Lore of the band seems to be all important, and I’ve seen comments like “if he takes that away I won’t be a fan anymore” or “Why is he ruining this for us?” or “He CAN’T take away the Lore!”

Let me tell you something.

Politely.

STOP.

Ghost is not OUR (meaning the fans) project. It is Tobias’ project. It is HIS band, HIS vision. Nobody else’s. We don’t get to decide what he does with his project anymore than anyone else gets to decide what to do with your body. His project, his rules.

I want you to stop and think about how much stress and pressure he is under right at this moment. He is less than a month away from the launch of not only a new album, but a massive world tour. Both of which he is solely responsible for. He is the boss, he has to make sure all his i’s are dotted and all his t’s are crossed. In multiple languages.

He’s also having to do heavy promotion for both to ensure their success. Multiple interviews, photoshoots, meetings with the label, rehearsals, wrangling ghouls and Ghoulettes, costuming, meetings with tour management, probably working out kinks with venues, vendors, merch, and everything else that goes along with a project this size. As well as being a husband and a father. Try taking all that on for yourself.

Remember also that Ghost didn’t start with Lore. Opus Eponymous? Nothing. No story. Infestisumam? We had Papaganda. That was it. Not much else. Terzo wasn’t even featured in the skits with Imperator in the lead up to Meliora.

And let’s not forget, these pieces of Lore some sections of the fanbase are so desperately clinging on to? It’s PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL. It was a fun, kitschy way to promote Prequelle. It let us know about upcoming tours. Told us 7 Inches of Satanic Panic was being released. Showed us Nihil’s shiny gold record.

And with RHRN, Tobias effectively wound up that era. He L et us know we are getting a new Papa, and led us by the hand into the new era of Perpetua.

If he chooses not to continue with the storytelling, all the old stuff will still be there. They aren’t going to scrub clean the YouTube channel or remove the movie from circulation. It will be there for us, whenever we want to return to it. And if that isn’t enough, this is a wildly talented fan base. There will always be people drawing, painting, cosplaying, acting, writing. It will always be there. Make your own lore if you want to! Nothing is stopping you!

But if you choose to leave the fandom because Tobias chooses not to make anymore chapters, then the loss will be yours. Because this band is brilliant. With or without the storytelling. You just have to believe it.

gale is actually the character of all time for swinging wildly between suicidal depression and delusions of godhood. he's ready to die and you give him a crumb of ass and hes like what if i just ruled the universe actually. this should be a huge red flag but then, you only need to ask him to stop once and he's like "ok" and the next day hes like "are you mad at me :("

BG3 roleplay nonsense

I love doing silly little inconsequential things in this game to give me serotonin, including:

Collecting all the rocks and minerals I find and keeping them in a pouch. 

Giving all the random teddy bears we find to Karlach to hold in her inventory

Giving Astarion a piece of malachite for his inventory because the flavor text says there’s superstition about it helping bad dreams

Giving Astarion one of the blood bank bottles to keep in his inventory so he always has a snack on hand

Giving Shadowheart ALL the night orchids

Giving Shadowheart the little statue of Selune in act 3

Letting Lae’zel carry the Githyanki egg the whole time 

Making act 1 Karlach pet Scratch and the owlbear cub because she can touch them without them bursting into flames, and she needs the comfort

Picking up the bodies of any innocent people who die and laying them somewhere nice for a little funeral

Throwing the Gortash propaganda posters on the ground

Having Astarion bite my character at the beginning of the day so he’s happy (it's worth the spell slot to fix bloodless idc)

Leaving the personal effects on corpses (letters from loved ones, keepsake items, etc.)

Talking to every animal in the game

Dying everyone’s armor to match their color scheme (that i made up)

Talking to everyone in camp/ petting the critters every. Single. Long rest. 

Making sure everyone has at least some time in the party, not just my faves… 

Letting Astarion pickpocket often, for morale

My character is constantly getting encumbered but I refuse to make the squishy characters carry more than thirty pounds. (Especially Astarion. Wouldn't want him to break a nail.)

Fiction is not reality.

You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.

No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.

No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.

You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.

Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.

The claim that media consumption influences real-life behavior is intellectually dishonest and serves only to excuse the behavior of real offenders.

Fiction is a safe way to explore horrifying or confusing concepts. Therapists agree that fiction, even (or especially) about taboo topics is a good coping mechanism, especially, but not exclusively, for trauma survivors. Fiction is to adults what play therapy is to children. This doesn't stop being true if the work in question is of a sexual nature.

Sex isn't an inherently worse or better motivation than anything else. A work written to create feelings of arousal isn't dirty, shameful, or in any way less pure than works written to entertain, provoke moral questions, or for other reasons. And worth noting is that multiple purposes can exist in the same story, especially fanfiction.

You aren't entitled to an explanation for why someone reads, writes, or otherwise enjoys certain works, kinks, tropes, ships, etc.
