chxdan:
“Yeah it’s–” he tugs on the reigns of his horse, slowing the animal to a stop– “Xu Shu, right? Can you tell me how to get to Chengdu from here? I just have something I need to pass on to the princess.” He was no idiot with a map, but the mountainous regions of Shu were impossible to navigate. He’s glad he’d come across the guy.
“Guess it isn’t uncommon to get lost between here and there, young lord,” he chuckled lightly. “I am heading to a village that is on the way to there, about a few hours walk if you are not too much of a hurry.”
He also felt a need to watch the young man just in case. He had no allegiance to the people of Shu, but he does wish to see Lord Liu Bei have little troubles with those who are his allies.

zhangchunhua:
“Oh! Hello there. I had thought the same, but I couldn’t rest. I felt the need to wander around a bit until I was tired. What might you be doing up so late?” She’d laugh a bit, choosing to make a joke. “Not getting into trouble are you? Is there a lady around here that we don’t know of?”
“I guess unrest is a common thing tonight,” he spoke, easily revealing his own reason for being out of bed.
His face soon looked flabbergasted at the lighthearted accusation as he stammered out, “I--No! No! I swear, it is just some trouble with sleep, my lady,” he chuckled nervously.”

“You’re one of the young lords of Wu, correct? You’re pretty far from your land to be traversing this far.”

“I... oh! Pardon me,” he apologized to the man he had bumped into, having been trying to traverse through the crowd while avoiding to do so with the other pedestrians.

He doesn’t wish to turn around as he feels like he was just caught doing something he shouldn’t, but he was innocent... right?

“Calm down. We have work to do on defending our allies.”
“Uh... yes, of course!”
He cleared his throat before heading back towards the camp where news of allies was being flanked by the enemy.

morimemento:
Together the two began the destruction and the slaughter of the enemies before them. Blood, guts, limbs, and everything in between surrounded the dirt below them, the stench of death lingered in the air.
Ranmaru breathed, wiping his brow of sweat, finding demon blood on his skin as well. “Gross..” he sighed, looking down at his bloody sword. He quickly wiped it down with a towel that was given to him by Lord Takatora Todo (a surprise gift during the Oda’s alliance with the Asai clan), and then wiped his neck.
He would need to wash himself after this…
His armor and clothing stuck to his skin like a second skin, the smell of sweat and death stuck to his body, making him cringe his nose. His hair had gotten loose from its traditional high ponytail, and he yanked it out, letting it flow loose down his shoulders.
There was a need to breathe, and breathe quick, as Ranmaru felt a heaviness in his heart, and his knees as well. “Are..we…” he breathed, looking upon his equally as tired comrade in arms. “..out of the woods yet..?”
One quick flick and the blood on his blade was mostly gone and splashed against the ground. The enemies were down and from the looks of the carnage around them, any more of the opposing army were nowhere in sight. In fact, they were indeed in the clear for the time being.
Movement caught his eye as one of Orochi’s soldiers still seemed to be moving. He threw his hook blade, letting it embed into the monster’s back as it yelped in pain. With a rough tug, he pulled the creature up and towards himself. Once close, Xu Shu wrapped his arm around its neck while bringing his blade just across its eyes.
He rarely showed this side of him, but they needed information. Although this one looked like one of the lower ranked officers, he would at least be informed of tactics... hopefully.
“Now... tell me... where is your camp?”

zijings:
“Unsporting of me, I’ll admit,” Lu Su chuckles, hefting his bladed rake into a more neutral stance. It had dug itself into the ground upon missing - he had been so sure of the hit, but the Shu strategist was quick on his feet.
“–though I would expect a friend of Zhuge Liang’s to keep a closer eye on matters.”
The fact that his little strategy was found out nearly rattled him, but he kept himself guarded now. His soldiers moved to attack but he stopped them, ordering them to rush back to the plan before he looked back at Lu Su.
“Then I must apologize that your expectations were not met,” Xu Shu spoke while readying himself for a fight.

defender-of-justice:
He watched as Xu Shu came charging his way. His eyes watching the mans posture. As he came closer Ma Chao sidestepped his attack. Hearing the steel clash against the ground.
“You have the determination. But you are thinking about it to much. Let your weapon fight for you. The way you position yourself is everything.”
Ma Chao came running at him, just as he approached he swung his spear towards Xu Shu’s knee.
Xu Shu jumped, hopping over the spear before rolling to get behind the man. Lord Ma Chao was right. He didn’t need to think and positioning was key. This was why he had approached this way while taking the initiative in this attack.
Now behind him, the strategist twisted his blade before swinging it just barely to make his move. If he were to make this his killing move, it would be checkmate for him.

“Shimazu Toyohisa.”
This is strange. He cannot remember this man’s name? How much did he drink?
“What land are you hail from?”
The man’s name was indeed strange, but given that his travels had allowed him to meet people with even stranger names...
“...Yingchuan. Do you regularly do this with everyone you meet and eat beside?”
