We need to change the way we use the word ‘beast’ to describe horses it pisses me off so much.

I was scrolling through the news and saw this article about a horse from the Blues and Royals Horse Guard outside Buckingham Palace who bit and ripped a tourists coat they were trying to get a photo. (https://apple.news/AKt7IDPaXRC6_2BFkuShLsw) the article in question.

What really irks me is that the article describes how she got away from the horse “She then manages to get free of the beast and walk back to her friends in a small crowd of people watching.” The horse IS NOT a beast here the horse just doesn’t want some tourist near them in that moment!

There are few times when calling a horse ‘beast’ is acceptable for example:

The horse in question has broken some sort of record then you could say “that horse is a beast” obviously referring to their physical strength or when you see a wild horse that’s magnificent/majestic then you can call them “a wild beastie” but calling a horse a ‘beast’ because it bit someone’s coat isn’t right. Horses are brilliant animals so shame on you writers of The Sun.

Everyone talks about how pretty the sunset is but not about how pretty the Sunset is. Sure the life giving ball of fire disappearing below the horizon is nice but the colours the clouds turn after. Perfect. Just perfect.

So perfect in fact that it feels like how a Lana Del Ray song sounds.
