Who has lived many lifetimes, and as many a violent death at the hands of those she serves insistently, a humanity borne perhaps of inhumanity.

Currently a trauma surgeon, she's not entirely certain if animal who is sometimes people or otherwise. Good doctor, nonetheless.

A mermaid given against her will the gift of being in humankind; a last ditch effort to save her, as it was told.

All of the iconography here reflects this dichotomy. A kingfisher spears a fish to eat, that had wandered near the surface to eat as well, both mindlessly directed by an instinct larger than itself, their worlds inextricably remote and only met in struggle.

Both a scholar and practitioner of mysteries, Francis' life is a cyclical weaving and unraveling; threads of history, blood tied, stitched from ashes she might spark herself.

An adherent of candomblé, she wears the beads of her orixá Ọbà, known as one of the physically strongest even among male orixás, guardian of the wheel; she braved mystical beasts and insurmountable obstacles to find the sacred hide of truth. Thought to be the least 'feminine' orixá, she is the protector of female power, her society of Elecô was forbidden to men.

Intertwined in the overgrowth, asphodels were generally associated with death in ancient Greece and are a sacred flower of Persephone; in the underworld, the Asphodel Meadows are the final home of nearly all souls, in contrast to the elusive Elysium or the exceptional punishment of Tartarus.

Sitting upon a decaying 'throne', a sword like Damocles' hanging over her as such, a necromancer, she has foresight into and dominion over life and death, except her own.

I had left updating society6 for last 'cause it's the shop with the lowest artist return rates, and while I kept it for the convenience of their more affordable items, it was financially pointless on my end.

Turns out they decided to put us both out of our misery by inviting the hoi polloi to kindly leave (non-optional) in what will surely be another very popular move in a series of exclusively successful business practices, like the 2023 subscription plans limiting your "free" shop to 10 items.
