Stella's writting is such a black hole of nothingness that it brings down anything good related to this family plotline. Just imagine is she was allowed to be anything more than a completely one note character, i'm not even saying make her good, just make her bad in better ways.

The writers are so unwilling to make her anything but a cruel dumbass that can only scream and abuse her husband, that they ignore the super obvious ditection of having her manipulate and play into Octavia's feelings of abandonment. Like, Octavia has to ignore the fact that her mother has been getting in the way of her dad trying to talk to her, literally taking the phone away from her hand, fo a month, and cackling like a witch about it (and the years of her openly abusing her father) for any of this to make sense.

It's like they heard all the criticisms about Stolas being a woobie that they tried to walk it bad, making it about his responsability again, but that doesn't work when you spent a whole season establishinng that nothing was his fault because his ex is more evil than the devil.

What's more likely is that the writers just don't care about having Stella be anything more than a plot device for Stolas/Blitz/Octavia drama. But like, you can't do that. You can't have a story about a messy divorce from the perspective of a husband and not have the wife character be, you know, more of a person. You can't have a serious story about abuse and have the abuser character be less flesh out than a looney tunes chatacter. I mean, you can, they did it for a whole season, but it sucks, lol, it's not good.

I know is all "haha, people got yuribaited by shonen, how dumb" and i was right there, feeling like a smartass for not falling for it. But he wrote this and then couldn't even bring himself to have Uraraka be in a relationship with Deku, and it was the fucking typical "female love interest and male shonen hero" thing, set up from the very start, but he didn't do it. Actually the last scene they talked to eachother was about Ochako's fellings about Toga. She felt something for her that specifically overshadowed her feelings for Deku, i don't give a fuck.

And i'm not saying any of this is revolutionary queer media or anything. There's no actual onscreen representation, it's another F/F relationship that ends in tragedy. I'm just saying that, i actually see some intentionallity here, maybe something he wouldn't had been allowed to explore. Idk, it's useless to speculate. I just grew fond of this relationship, and wanted to talk about it.

Here's my hot take i guess, Monty was a massive figure and talent so is easy to forget that even back then, he wasn't making this show alone. There's people that have been working on rwby pretty much since the very start alongside him. Like it or not they're responsible for shaping a big part of what the show was and is, and i think they have a right to atleast some creative control on the show they have been working on for 10 years.

So i don't particularly loose sleep over the idea of every single plot point after his passing being part of his "originl vision" or something like that. Not only because the vision for the show as a whole didn't come from him alone. But also because we have so many stories about him adding stuff last minute to make it clear that there never was an "original vision" of rwby that wasn't changing every now and then.

"Monty's style" this, "Monty's vision" that, PLEASE shut the fuck up it's been like ten goddamn years and y'all STILL won't stop yapping about a man none of you knew. He fucking HATED people like y'all. You hounded him for another entry in Dead Fantasy IN A POST HE MADE ABOUT A FUNERAL FOR A LOVED ONE and he deleted all of his socials but one. You insulted the voice actresses and he told you to FUCK OFF because they're his friends and he PICKED THEM FOR THE ROLES because they're his friends.

My life changed dramatically when Israeli military launched a sweeping war against Gaza. My home and our neighborhood in the North have been destroyed along with our belongings and precious memories early in this crisis😫

My job and my husband's job are gone 💔.Israeli military forced us to evacuate from the north Gaza to the south where they claimed it would be the safe zone but it is not at all😭

Forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs, today, we find ourselves sheltering in a displacement camp lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food and drinkable water. I will not talk a lot about the dire and unbearable life we have to go through, as no word can express it fairly🥺😣

The good news in the midst of this tragedy, that I am one of the 22 women from the developing world who have been awarded OWSD- PhD fellowship to pursue my PhD study in Malaysia💪. But now I am stuck in Gaza unable to achieve my dream because Israeli army has occupied and closed all the border crossings😢
