How I turned my Deferral into an Acceptance

————————————————————————Deferral is when a college admission officer neither rejects or accepts an applicant. They want to view the applicant’s application again with the regular decision applicants. So, basically, you have a second chance at getting into the school. ————————————————————————

On January 28, 2022. I was deffered from UMiami in my 3D reality. Was I a little mad? Yes. It is okay to feel emotion while still believing in LOA. You’re a human. You have emotions.

Over time, around February and March, I started to believe I was already admitted the school. I wasn’t even stressed about my application, I was just going with the flow. I pretended my application said accepted and even looked up ‘UMiami Acceptance Letter’ and pretended it was my own. While writing my ‘Letter of Interest’ letter to my admissions officer, I pretended as if I was just emailing about courses or just little questions about the school. I believed that UMiami was just a safety school for me and that I got in with ease. I wasn’t paying attention to that ‘deferred’ that was in my 3D view. To me, it was just a typo, and it actually said ‘accepted’. I scripted in my notebook about how I got into every single college that I applied to and UMiami was the easiest one to get into. I wasn’t worried about my outcome because I already had it, I got in. What did I need to be worried for? That school needs people like me. Smart, interesting, creative, actively involved and overall a good person.

And low and behold, around April 2022, I checked my portal again, and my acceptance letter was waiting for me as it fully loaded my screen. I had received in my 3D view. I was happy, but I knew it was coming, I knew I deserved it.

Although it is unlikely I will attend because I was offered admission from USC and UCLA on full ride, I am still proud of myself for manifesting my dream schools.

And it is okay to celebrate your manifestations btw. I feel like a lot of people tell you not to because you already knew it was yours, but you should be proud of yourself, you made your reality. And it’s an amazing power that takes time to perfect.
