penelopeivy-arc:
“coming right up,” she said, using her wand to fill a glass of wine. taking a deep breath and a moment, penelope gathered herself and walked back into her living room, handing him the drink. “um, please sit,” she motioned towards the love seat that was adjacent to the couch, settling back into her place.
penelope’s mind was empty and she was ready to yell at herself. that wasn’t something she was used to. her mind was always going, thinking about her career. she hadn’t fooled herself – penelope knew this would be somewhat difficult for her. “i guess i’ll just start with… how are you doing?” it was probably a loaded question, but that was the only thing she could seem to get out as her heart ached for the man in front of her.
“Thank you.” Percy smiled, taking the glass in his hands and swirling it around slightly as he sat down next to her, peering down into the glass slightly. After a moment he took a slow sip, taking a second to look up at her, enjoying just being in each other’s company again. He had missed this, them. “Works good. Family is doing alright.” he finally said, shrugging slightly. It hadn’t entirely answered her question, but it hadn’t not answered it either. This was safe, keep things on the surface and they won’t go wrong. “How about you? Have you been alright?”

ginnyweasley-arc:
Ginny rolled her eyes a little bit but pulled back from Percy to settle in the chair across from him. He was always so stiff - very different from the rest of the Weasley siblings, who, like her, seemed to thrive on a little bit of chaos. But she tried not to tease him as much anymore. The stick wasn’t coming out of his arse, so they’d have to work around it.
“I’m glad you did,” she said, relaxing into something a little more serious than she was used to. She lifted the menu to peruse it. “Hard to catch up at Mum’s, with everyone yelling all the time. How are you, Perce? Aside from work, I mean - I know the Ministry’s probably got you pretty busy this week.”
Better to head him off in advance, on that subject.
“I am too.” Percy nodded, lifting one of the napkins beside him as he tore off a small piece of the end. It didn’t feel fair that this sort of thing came so easily to everyone else but him. Sure he had ruined his relationship with his family all on his own years ago, but things had surprisingly gotten better since they rekindled than even before their falling out. He just had always struggled with social situations like these. But he was trying.
Looking down he realized the napkin in his hands was now only half there, the rest in little scattered bits between them and placed it down, shrugging slightly. “I know, it’s hard with so many of us. But things have been good, I guess. Everything feels so crazy again all of a sudden, you know?”

mollywobblxs:
“hi, honey,” molly said quietly, looking over at son when he sat down next to her. “what are you doing here so early?” she asked as she grabbed one of percy’s hand and gently squeezed it before taking another taking a sip of her coffee.
having percy back in the house after years of not speaking was one of the few good things that had come out of the battle three years prior. there had been a hole where he should have been. she couldn’t even begin to imagine the things he had been going through all those years ago to make him completely cut off contact with the entirety of his family, but nevertheless, it didn’t matter. she had her baby boy back.
“do you want coffee? there’s some in the house,” she said as she looked back at the front yard of the burrow, the chickens still continued to cluck at each other.
Percy shifted slightly to face her, but his gaze stayed low, focusing in on their hands as he squeezed his mum’s back gently, not letting go. “My radio broke some point last night, I couldn’t sleep with the place that quiet. Figured I would use the extra time to check in.” He kept his head down, eyes only peering up at hers as his voice quieted. “Is that okay? Fixing the radio would have been easy, taken him two minutes to figure out the spellwork to get it going again, but he wanted to be home. After years of crowdedness and chaos, Percy had a lot of difficulty adjusting to life on his own, which only made the time apart from his family that much harder.
Perhaps one day he could go a whole twenty-four hours without feeling that fresh sting of guilt over abandoning them all.
He shook his head, following her gaze out towards the yards and caught himself almost smile at the chickens around them. “I’m alright.” he said after a long moment, still watching the birds. “I should probably stop drinking the stuff. Maybe I’ll fall asleep easier.”

weorgegeasel:
There were few rules when it came to apparation. The Three D’s: Destination, Determination and Deliberation. George figured they would be drilled into his head until the day he died. There were unofficial rules as well. Don’t be under the influence, unless you were particularly skilled. Don’t abuse your new found license to travel downstairs, if you were Molly Weasley’s son. Don’t pop in to someone’s home, unless that person had keyed you into their wards. Percy had made a grave mistake the day he found George trustworthy enough to apparate in.
Landing on his brother’s bed with a loud pop, George sighed at the lack of brother to be found. What was the point of making a show if Percy wasn’t even there to see it? It was his older brother’s fault that he and Fred had found the skill so fun to abuse. Percy had shown off plenty when he had first passed the test, not even taking the time to use the stairs for breakfast. “Perce?”
Destination in mind, George disapparated on the spot, ending up in his brother’s bathroom instead. “Perce?” Empty again. “Percival Ignatius?” Not showering then. George tried again, this time landing on his brother’s couch. His own bag, filled to the brim with papers, spilled all over the ground. “Now you’re just doing this on purpose.” He said, mostly to himself as he got up and tried to collect the various forms and packets he hadn’t been keeping up to date with.
@percyweasleyarc
Percy had been sprawled out on his couch covered in papers as he fought not to let his eyes shut. He had been working on paperwork for his meeting with the next morning for hours now, and was just about to give in for the night when he heard a very distinct pop from what sounded like his bedroom. It was just one of his brothers or sister, he thought to himself as he followed the noise. His wards were spectacular, no one would be able to just get through them with that much ease.
Still he rushed as he followed the noise, stopping short when no one there. He turned around again when he heard another loud pop, this time at least followed by George’s voice calling his name. Then again. He sighed, shaking his head as he followed the calls of his own name across his apartment to finally land on his brother on time of his couch, the papers he had spent hour on scattered across the room.
First things first he supposed. With a quick “Accio” the paperwork all flew into his hand, allowing him to push them together into a somewhat neatish pile and placed them on the counter. “I work in Magical Transportation, George. Even if it’s the Floo Network department, that isn’t going to work the same way it did when we were younger.” Even as he said it, Percy knew the words were a lie. He had jumped. He ran towards his bedroom and it was taking everything in him right now not to lecture George on why he shouldn’t be apparating throughout people’s homes.

Charlie didn’t put anymore thought into the papers scatter around, he worked in an organised mess himself, so he could understand. He grinned in his brothers direction as he spoke, it was nice to hear Percy joining with the banter. “More Weasley drama? I have no idea what you’re talking about, we’re the least dramatic family I’ve ever met,” he jested back, knowing full well that statement was nowhere near true. “Probably for the best though.”
“Ah,” Charlie acknowledged, reaching up to the top shelf and grasping onto the bottle of firewhiskey, turning to the counter to pour the liquid into the two glasses that Percy had placed out. He had to say this was a first, he hadn’t ever had a drink alone with his brother before tonight. “Worried? Why? I think she’s doing fine, I mean as fine as you can be in times like this,” he told the other, taking a sip of his whiskey, and making his way over to a seat to collapse down upon. In truth, he was worried for their mum, but denial had seemed the best way to deal with it in that moment. “That was a bit dismissive, should we be worried about her?”
Percy let out a breathy laugh as he repositioned himself to be facing Charlie. It was slightly awkward and uncomfortable, but he was trying. No matter how painful it was to admit to himself he needed to try just to joke around with his own brother, he was trying. “Yeah.” he nodded along, staring down as he picked slightly as his fingernail. “What’s drama? Never heard of it.”
He reached for one of the two now full glasses sat out on the counter, downing the contents into his mouth quickly, trying to hide his hesitation before swallowing the drink and making a face. Percy wasn’t much of a drinker, he didn’t enjoy to drink alone and there he wasn’t the person anyone really thought of when they needed a drinking buddy. But this was nice, he and Charlie hadn’t really had alone time like this is years. “No, I don’t think we really need to worry. Part of it is probably just me still feeling like an absolute garbage son, I just- I don’t want her to go through this again.”

penelope could feel the heat rising to her cheeks, ducking her head sheepishly. “i’ve missed you too,” she admitted. she wasn’t afraid to say the truth as there was no reason for her to lie. with a flood of emotions filling her body, penelope suddenly realized she hadn’t met anyone else who made her feel like this – practically a lovestruck teenager – but she knew how this was going to turn out. penelope had assumed that, unlike her, percy found someone else and he had just accepted her invitation to be friendly. “come on in,” she continued, heading for her kitchen. “do you want something to drink? beer? wine?”
penelope didn’t drink a whole lot, but she had bought a few different things since she wasn’t sure what percy would like.
percy hadn’t thought just a few words could make him this happy but at her admittance to having missed him as well, he was unable to hide the way the corners of his lips turned up into a smile. he doubted she missed him in the same way, missed what the two of them used to be, but it was still reassuring to know penelope missed having percy in her life. it left him with a strange fluttering in his stomach.
“i’ll just have whatever you’re drinking, thank you.” he didn’t really know much about alcohol, was never that much of a drinker, but he figured he would like whatever penelope was having.

👂 (Ron)
I was thinking and... I want Ron to bring Scabbers to school with him. I know we can’t get him his own but, all the first years bring some kind of pet! I’ll miss him but I don’t need him anymore, it’s like having a friend until you can make your own. Besides, I won’t have time to take care of him now that I’m a Prefect this year.

👂- George
I just- I don’t know how to be George’s brother again. If I’m even allowed to be his brother again after all of this. I think I screwed him over the most, gave him nothing but grief for years after we started school. And I miss Freddie too, but I cost George his twin. How do I ever deserve to be his brother again after that?

I shared a dorm with Wood for seven years, he was always a good friend to me. I don’t know, maybe it was because we’re both so obsessive. He gave me some advice I’ll never forget, even if it took me a long time to truly hear it.

@percyweasleyarc
the last three years had been a whirlwind of emotions. she had lost a child, but with that came gaining back a child she had lost. molly had hoped percy would come back, but with the fight between him and his father, she wasn’t sure if it was going to happen. so when it did happen, it gave molly a sense of relief she hadn’t been anticipating. she wasn’t sure if she could handle the pain that came with losing not one child, but two children. molly kept percy close, now that he was back. she made sure that he knew the burrow was always open if he ever needed to drop by, even if it was just for a quick chat with his mum.
molly was finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. she knew the pain and grief that came with losing a family member, especially a child, would always be there. but it had soften enough for her to be able to enjoy the little things in life. with the sun shining, she brought her morning coffee out onto the porch and sat down on the swing arthur had built years before. she watched as the chicken clucked at each other and the birds flying across the blue sky.
the burrow used to be the one place percy felt more safe than anywhere else in the world, where he could just be and even if they didn’t all get along perfectly all the time, he could simply be himself without having to worry about trying to impress anyone or what anyone else thought of him. now, even after three years of trying to fix things with his family, he was always tense coming home.
but he needed to try, for all of them but for his mother more than anyone. molly had done absolutely everything for him and percy doubted he would ever forgive himself for cutting her out over a fight she had no part of. it had just been too difficult to tell her back then he wasn’t ready to come home so he cut her out entirely. he would never make it up to her, but he would spend the rest of his life trying.
he walked through the familiar yard, stopping only for a second to take in the sounds and smells of his childhood home before making his way towards the porch and sitting down next to her with a small smile. “Hey.”

charliewhqs:
From the look on Percy’s face, Charlie knew that his brother hadn’t been expecting company, he assumed that he’d been working. The man had grown up accustomed to Percy reminding them all that he was busy with an essay or something academic, but since the war Percy had changed, it was different now, maybe because he was trying to mend his connection with his family. Charlie knew that all of the Weasley’s had a difficult relationship with Percy, especially after the words they’d witnessed him say to their Dad, but Charlie had never been one to hold a grudge, even though he couldn’t say he was particularly close to Percy at the moment.
“Thanks Perce,” he grinned back at his brother genuinely as he stepped through the door, glancing around, his eyes falling upon the papers scattered messily around on the counter, a sight that he hadn’t really expected to see at Percy’s, he’d assumed it would be tidier than this, but he chose not to dwell on it. Instead, he turned his focus to the wand in Percy’s hand, “Were you expecting someone else or were you planning on stunning me away?” he joked, making his way through to the kitchen, reaching a cupboard and opening it. “I don’t suppose you have any firewhiskey? All the pubs are closed and I think Mum’s been taking my stash away- I get the feeling she’s keeping it for herself.”
Percy stepped back to allow Charlie in, shutting the door behind them as they headed inside. He had caught his brother’s gaze on the papers lying all around and thought twice about not rushing to tidy them up. Sure he knew he wouldn’t judge, but did Percy really want to give off the impression he couldn’t keep home organized? Still, every in of parchment had an exact spot and if he moved anything now he’d be struggling to find it all tomorrow so this was going to have to do.
“I was planning on stunning you, but thought better of it last minute. Don’t need to cause any more Weasley drama.” He shrugged, eyes wandering towards his brother’s almost as if looking for approval on the teasing tone. He still was unsure of where he stood with Charlie, where he stood with his entire family if he was being honest with himself and he hadn’t been very good at just joking around since they were very young. “Top right self, I’ll grab two glasses.” he nodded, opening another cupboard door to grab out the glasses and place them on the counter. “I know she’s a grown up but-- I’m worried about her.”

penelopeivy-arc:
penelope’s eyes flitted towards the entrance of her home as a rap at the door signaled an arrival. was there a part of her that wanted to yell ‘not here!’ and run to her bedroom? yes, but she’d have to refrain for now. setting her wine and magazine on the side table, penelope moved a strand of hair behind her ear as she made her way over and took a deep breath before revealing someone she had considered her best friend.
a tiny heart attack was the best way for penelope to describe how she felt as she met the gaze of the hazel eyes that once made her feel like home. “hi,” penelope greeted in a breathy tone. “i’m really glad you came.”
percy had almost turned around disaparated back home before the door swung open. had this been this difficult when they were teenagers? he wasn’t entirely sure. but he did feel sixteen again, that same combination of nerves and excitement at sneaking off to hidden corners of the castle.
“hey.” he responded quietly, reaching his hand up to give her an awkward half wave, grinning widely. “i’m glad you invited me.” the second part was said so quietly, he wasn’t even entirely sure he said the words out loud. “i’ve missed you.”
