"Oh and look who the cat has dragged from his throne and deposited at my feet, what do you wish of me brother? come to rage? Tantrum? I'm a quiver with anticipation."

"Of course I do darling," Demeter replied with a smile, leaning over to kiss her sister on the temple. Of course she and Hera had their ups and downs to be sure. They were both temperamental, dramatic and the kind of women that raged rather than remained silent. Vengeance was in their very nature. And yet there were few others that Demeter loved more than her siblings and children. Mortals be damned. "Mostly his ego," the other goddess replied with a wave of her hand-- placing her fingers against some of the sleeping roses that littered her rooms. "His tantrums begin to bore me, I miss Poseidon more and more.."
The goddess never expected anyone to understand nor did she care to tell others what she really felt. Weakness was not granted for she was queen and she is to do what was expected of her. Though Zeus was not privileged enough for her to outright show these emotions to him anyway, at least, not anymore for he was in the past. He damaged that with his various cheating scandals he dealt upon her. “Oh you insult me." Hera said with a small smile. "But alas, I can’t disagree with you for it would be peaceful without some of the stuff he throws around." A light roll of eyes was all that accompanied it.

"Are you well then?" the family was dramatic, it was their major characteristic but she had seen much change the last while and though she had consented the madness that it was she was not pleased by it. Sighing the Goddess pulled back with a shrug, "Some of it is mortals, they destroy the earth then blame others when earth fights back... " her lips brushed his cheek. "But Dionysus you do not come and see me less it's summer, what troubles you?"
He smiled softly and wrapped his arms around his aunt. Frankly, though many found her to be dramatic, he rather liked her—especially in the summer. She always was generous enough to let his beloved grapes grow vibrantly. “I can, actually. That is very much like our family, I think. But I don’t think you’d do that. It might be Boreas.”

He did make her smile with that single gesture, Demeter sighed and touched his cheek with her hand. “Such cheek, whatever am I to do with you?” How many could make her smile when she didn’t want too, could brighten her day. “Fool am I to care so much hmm? How are you, brother?”
"I blame the family’s trait charming personality for that", he smiled trying to keep her smiling as well, "you know me, I am the currents take me which is everywhere…", he kissed her cheek, "…there, your day has just been brightened"

That drew a rare chuckle from her as she moved over to embrace the former demi-god, yes in truth she would have claimed this one time and again. "Ever abused, but much of it is my own doing I'm afraid. I do not wish to be bothered with the petty politics nor the idiocy I've enough trouble keeping to the earth... can you believe they are blaming me for the polar vortex?"
"Are you really so abused on that Mount that you think all visits are out of necessity? My, you poor thing. Is it madness to ask you to believe that I simply wanted to see one of my most favored aunts?"

She smiled, it was rare but mostly her brother could draw those things out of her even as she lowered her head. "I will admit, brother, I have been better." She was so bitter these days, so tired. "Oh you are often far away, I've pushed everyone out have I not?"
"Did you? Am I usually far away from you, sister dearest?", he teased, "I have been well, how have you been?"

"What need have you for me, mad child?" If she were being honest, she felt he was an impossibly annoying boy-- but she would have claimed him as her own if anyone had allowed it.

The goddess looked up form her wine a slight smirk crossing her face as she turned her head. She was, anti-social to say the least but her brows raised. "Hermes, what do I owe this pleasure?"

She turned to look at him, the ice in her gaze was clear as she snorted a laugh. "Oh have heart brother, least it is not you that I am vexed for once." Turning back to her flowers she snipped one to set it in a vase. "Worried about the mortals, Hades?"
The ice that seemed to lace her words did little to settle the god’s nerves as he hovered in the doorway, hands folded together. “Well, Dem…I, uh…came to talk about this particularly harsh winter you’ve bestowed on the mortals. Seems my riverbanks are a bit fuller this year…”

Demeter might love her siblings but she didn't always understand her sister's affection for the man. The way she stayed, she moved her hand to touch her sister's shoulder, "Your heart won't allow it-- far stronger than anyone ever gives you credit. Truth be told. But wouldn't it be nice to be rid of the utter idiocy..." Her lips curved barely, true she might see the War God less, her thoughts returning to this situation that had fallen into their laps. "Would be quick work too." She might have loved her brother in some fashion, but like him? Oh she loathed him.
"For as much as I see of my son, you will see him just as little. If not less." Hera countered her. She knew her son was a tough one to handle for many of the gods, but he also knew when to stay avoid people and when not to. That was something most gods did not know how to do because often enough she would get many of Zeus’ own bastards coming up to her in want of one thing or another. Though at the comment of throwing Zeus off of Olympus made a rare smile appear upon her lips. "Would if I could, dear sister." Her only fault was still loving Zeus. Of course everyone all thought she hated him and they should because she does, yet the love was still there in any case.

"I wonder..." Demeter furrowed her brow, an almost hiss in her voice as she locked her jaw. "If they would not succeed just to spite us. I know my daughter, I could have gotten her to go back to Hades but to what end? If they fail then they fail and things go back as they were, my daughter will return to me free of Hades and Ares both..." she raised a brow at her sister. "So I consented. If they fail. They fall. If they succeed at worst I am stuck with your son.... I may be able to stomach that." May, she was tired. "I grow weary of this battle, Hera, maintaining the earth.. fighting with your blasted fool of a husband.. I say we toss him off the mountain and be done with it."
"When he wants something, he will make sure to get it. Though keeping it is another story entirely that I am sure will not have a happy ending for your sweet little flower." Hera commented with a small sigh to her voice. The whole thing was exhausting, so she stayed out of it…for the most part.

"It was exhausting to say the least. He wanted my blessing and he raged--" she smirked at her sister. "I tried to make a wager that I know my daughter would have rebuked-- it would have caused tension but he was wise to it. Oddly, I don't think I've ever heard him more genuine. It was strange to say the least."
“That, I have not heard about. I only know of him going to Zeus because those two yell loud enough for even the mortals to hear.”
