Kmart Pen Haul
After discovering the mystical and enchanting world of Pen Spinning just a mere couple days heretofore, I, of course, attempted the very basic of tricks only to realize that my ordinary Pilot G2 had its limits. Scoured the internet here and wide I did, and found many many fantastic tutorials for creating modified pens designed specifically for spinning. Since I live relatively close to a Kmart, I decided to stop by and browse the store's selection of pens. Although in the end I was a little disappointed, this was my first pen haul and I did manage to construct my first BICtory pen mod! Therefore, I decided to create a tumblr to keep a record of where I have found certain materials so that it may be useful to others who wish to create their own mods. So, without further ado, here are fruits of my first pen haul:
BIC Ultra Round Stic Grip Xtra-Comfort Specs: Pen, black medium 1.2mm ink, 15 cm long Quantity: 8-pack Price: $2.69 ($0.34/pen) Comments: Great quality, great price.
Pentel R.S.V.P Color Specs: ~15.5 cm long, black/blue/red/green/pink/purple colors, 1.0 mm ink Quantity: 6-pack Price: $4.99 ($0.83/pen) Comments: Just your standard R.S.V.Ps. Decided to go with colors, but there was also a 6-pack in all black. The ink color matches the pen color.
Zebra Z-grip Flight Specs: Black grips, metal tips Quantity: 4-pack Price: $3.99 ($1.00/pen) Comments: I only used the grips and tips for my BICtory mod.
So yeah. Like I said, a bit of a disappointment that I wasn't able to find a pack of grips or other common modding pens. However, Kmart did have pilot G2s and Papermate Profiles. Hoping to get the materials to make the RSVP MX mod soon! I'll keep you updated!
