Focusing on healing and progression

And I’m 100% having a ball writing them but also, damn I feel guilty having my lesbian ships explore such heavy dynamics when my guy ships tend to be just as much of a mess but honestly… they try not to make a mess of EACH OTHER

Meanwhile Maki is over here being a dumbass and subconsciously trying to lose herself in doing cute meaningless things for Nobara because it’s such a simple NOT TERRIBLE thing in her life and Nobara is young and in love and ~really honestly a fucking cinnamon roll with a hammer because she’s actually at peace with herself because she actually experienced her “death” and came back with some trauma but also a love for herself and also SHES NOT DEAD AND HER CRUSH LIKES HER HOLY SHIT and so she’s in that stage of pedestaling her first love because she’s ~also processing A LOT OF FEELINGS and it’s so easy to let things get carried away when one partner is still thinking the other one hangs the moon… and said other one is emotionally running until it ends up just… hitting her RIGHT in the face with a vengeance.

And I feel guilty that THIS is how I dive in to this ship but damn, I do love the heavier shit

And it’s their ~vibe here

Mostly because I can so clearly see Maki isolating and refusing to process, and Nobara being protected and bullied by her gay brothers to such an extent that she actually has a support system and literally blooms

It’s just so easy to not know what you’re doing when you’re not in a good space and you HURT the person so eager to hand you their heart and then it’s just devastating because the partner that’s ~already healing has to… FURTHER heal past them and move on while pretending she ~isn’t still hoping that she’ll walk into work one day at the school and Maki is THERE WAITING FOR HER, and something about these two just fit that particular flavor of angst SO WELL

And the smuts good, it’s hot, I’m enjoying it, but the cycle they actually go through? THAT I’m fucking loving holy shit, the more you look at them as a ship, the more they really REALLY fit and have their own specific flow
