Guide to being part of the Emo/Scene Community in 2023, because so many people don't seem to understand.
Requirements:
You must listen to emo music (what that is is a topic of debate, but it's generally an umbrella term for Post-hardcore and Poppunk)
Things that aren't required:
Being white
Having straight hair
Being skinny
Basically any of the things that toxic myspace people gatekept emo with.
Things you should NOT do:
Post gore
Post Pro-ana stuff
Hate on others for not fitting into your definition of emo
Leave mean comments about someone's weight or race
Post S/H
As long as the majority of what you listen to is emo music, you are emo. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
