3D animation archive day: 2 - “wbrb-gameboy_bumper.mp4”
still heavily utlizing tutorials for modeling but was able to create something halfway presentable and within my style. the gradient on the screen caused some really cool natural glitching because of the way it was extruded within the frame layer of the model.
key notes from today are:
shading can be done through the use of shells and putting darker colors on shell selection
modeling using splines then adding extrudes can be good for simple low poly style models like the gameboy
keyframes are not auto depending on value, they most be added each time you want one
.c4d files take up entire AE composition no matter what (can't use certain effects like CC Repetile

3D animation archive day: 1 - "peeko text.mov"
learning how to use cinema 4D lite with an AE workflow. for day one just getting the bearings of where things are, learning keyframes in 4D and other various controls.
key notes from today are:
main 3D assets from AE are text layers and shape layers
start in AE and export as a .c4d file then bring file back into composition and cmd+E to edit original in C4D (utilizing this workflow allows you to save .c4d file and view updates in AE comp.)
splines are paths; extrudes create geometry
C4D GUI is set up with tools on the left hand side, interact with existing geometry on the top, and creating and modifying content on the right.
