i love how shen qingqiu and shang qinghua completely shift genres when they see each other and like. they aren’t even subtle about it. you’re at a cang qiong mountain party talking with the grave and dignified qing jing peak lord, and he glances over your shoulder and frowns very slightly and says “this shen has some sudden urgent matters he must attend to; he begs your distinguished selves’ forgiveness.” and he glides over as gracefully as an immortal to where the an ding peak lord has just shown up, and he picks shang qinghua up in a fireman’s carry and drags him to the corner where they start whisper-yelling things like “good fucking work ‘great master’ i hope you’re proud of yourself” and “come ONNN bro what would you do in my position?” and shen qingqiu fully starts curbstomping shang qinghua. and you go over to see if everything is all right and as you approach shen qingqiu spins around, full 180°, and by the time he gets to degree 180 he’s completely flipped back into the dignified and distinguished immortal master shen who is so far removed from the petty passions of humanity. shang qinghua starts trying to army crawl away and shen qingqiu plants his foot on the corner of his robe without looking. not even luo binghe gets this kind of fucked up treatment

If I ever wrote a superhero story I’d want there to be a recurring shitty C-list supervillain in the background whose power was changing something’s colour and all her villainous plots would be colour-themed things like “If the city council doesn’t give me a million dollars, I will turn the city of GREEN Bay into the city of RED Bay!” and she’d turn the Golden Gate Bridge magenta or whatever.

So it’s all low-stakes villainy, but everyone absolutely hates fighting her because her very shitty superpower works really really well, and there are dozens of background characters who’ve fought her that are just permanently green now

didn't want to make this post because i thought it was self evident. if you're an aspiring martial artist on a quest to confront the clan who burned your village down as a kid, you shouldn't be worried about people named shit like sun biling with flying loops, the heavenly foot of ten thousand swords clan, or even weeping demon of the forbidden devil's palm technique. you should be worried about jianfei, the guy who dresses and looks completely normal and doesn't boast of his clan or technique. this guy will absolutely rock your shit. i know you think you're invincible after learning 5 of the 10 silent palm techniques but this guy is why your shifu no longer teaches the remaining 5. submit or be cut down effortlessly like the reed you are.
