((Part seven)) From the journal of Shion Fanel; Warrior of Light and Darkness

Thinking back I wasn’t sure exactly what I said to start-only that I wanted to thank him. for everything. For coming here that day. For doing  ALL of this. For me. Of course I knew it was to preserve the future, but I remember what I saw in my echo- I wanted him to know I received the message sent with him. 

I told him how much that meant to me. And yet despite the weight of such sacrifice and trust, when he was close- just like now. The mantle of Warrior of Light- and Darkness, wasn’t unbearable anymore. He seemed perplexed by that. And so I divulged how I truly felt about it all. How my position, my duty, my supposed destiny-thundered around me to such volume I was consumed. And he- like the eye of that storm, G’raha stood at the center still looking at me as a human being. I cleaved to such a feeling. And from it blossomed something I didn’t think I was capable of feeling. It had been so ever since we met.

Which was why- I regretted not being forthcoming before. For a man so brave and kind deserved to know. I wanted him to know the treasure I kept sealed inside my heart, my own lodestone for which I summoned up a clear reminder that I was not the beast my adversaries often called me. That feeling kept me company in the dark. I thanked him then by the fire light, for my own personal shard of humanity that I kept so preciously close to me. A ward against the darkness of my own mind.

To think such kind words would be for me?

I prepared to remain as I ever was, but with the knowledge that he at least would know the measure of the gift he gave me. That was enough. It could be enough.

- and yet. In a ‘Eon within an Instant’, the world shifted once more in a way I couldn’t possibly imagine.

Tell me again G’raha Tia.

Tell me over and over... what I am to you.

I could listen to you forever. 

Again. And again. We can talk like this forever, like on Mt. Gulg. Tell me what you want of me- and I will give everything regardless.

  When the sun rose that day after. 

Everything was back to the way it was with only one difference.

I finally told him everything. And now he knows he is my inspiration as well- and I know he believes me.

((Part Six)) From the journal of Shion Fanel;The Warrior of Light and Darkness

It was so beautiful up there. It was very much worth it. G’raha seemed very pleased we had accomplished this. We didn’t need to ascend the highest peak- we were happy to sit here on the platform and observe the sun descending.

I’m sure could have stayed up there for much longer. But the wind picked up, and I knew a perfect place to watch the fireworks from a more comfortable spot.

I don’t quite remember how long we had sat there in peaceful silence. Satisfied with ourselves. Savouring the peace. There was no telling when we would get the chance to relax like this again. As I let the moment sink in- that nagging fear nearly consumed me. But perhaps it was the fact we’d never lost everything- twice. I nearly lost him, twice. I realized I had to face this obstacle within myself, and bring all my strength to bare.. and face him.

((Part Five)) From the Journal of Shion Fanel; Warrior of Light and Darkness

It was quite the leap sometimes... for some I guess. but honestly, I wasn’t a dragoon for nothing it seemed. though sore and much to dear G’raha’s shock and worry, everything was fine.

We were victorious for the first half! Once we passed that hurdle, G’raha seemed to be MUCH more confident about things. He took to the tower faster than I did!....

I never thought I’ve have this much fun- in THIS way- it was an odd relief not having to rely on my advanced skills in leaps and jumps to scale a massive structure like this. I didn’t need to perform massive feats of strength. Instead I simply had to stretch out my hand for aid and climb up like everyone else. There was a sense of relief knowing I wasn’t doing this for something dire- no scaling a mountain to save the fate of two worlds. I was just having fun. And so was he.

((Part Five-b)) From the Journal of Shion Fanel; Warrior of Light and Darkness

I didn’t know why of all times I felt both dizzy and pained. Perhaps that fight through Eden was just harder on my body than I realized. But something just didn’t feel right. Why was the sun suddenly so blinding? Next thing I knew, the world was tipping over.

But thankfully...

-he was there. I suppose he was always watching me after all.

I just wish he’d done the same for himself.

Alas...

I was not fast enough....

The sun had gone down and he was still down there. He seemed unwilling to rise again from the water. Floating gently on the surface like a leaf. Content to his fate. 

I wasn’t going to leave him there forever- at least not alone!

I’m sure this one once the Exarch could forgive a selfish warrior and let her share in his fated defeat. After all it wasn’t so bad down here.

((part Four)) From the Journal of Shion Fanel; Warrior of Light and Darkness

The following morning we started! It was muggy at first, and the Ex- Graha was STILL worried about the wood being perhaps too wet. We may slip and fall. Don’t get me wrong- I was concerned for that too, so I opted we go slowly.

I admit even I noticed how slippery it was. 

“But look! A good omen! the sun is on our side today~” I told him.

I felt surely we could do this! We scaled a moving mountain for twelve sake! This was child's play! that seemed to light a fire under his arse- and off the man went! He circled around me in no time and was ahead of me. Still thinking back on it- I wonder if he knew more of my future than I realized, even now. 

That look in his eye- like he saw something I told him things would be fine! We would look out for one another- surely. I remember bracing himself and mustering my strength I worked my sore legs and made the leap!

That night I asked him again. He was still skeptical, but I assured him things would be fine. After all- we were doing this together right?

After all, we;ve been through a lot. I trusted him! He trusted me after all- so we could do this together. Our first adventure- one of many hopefully. Consider it a crash course again. A warm up- of things to come, places to go! 

I wondered if it was something I said. But he seemed to really be thinking about something-

At long last, he finally said rather firmly than I felt was for a simple reply to an obstacle course. He said he would go with me.

The battered fish that was served today was the same as last years and I still liked it.  Graha seemed to enjoy it more than I expected, eating a decent helping. Considering his true physical state, I wondered if he needed to eat anymore? I suppose if push came to shove the tower could sustain him, but so far away- perhaps the extra sustenance was required. Or he just missed the dish SO much! 

Either way, his face is cute when he eats, trying to be so clean while clearly loving it so much. I should remember this dish- perhaps I can make it for him sometime?

While we ate I noticed the obstacle course wa sup again. I took the initiative to suggest we try! 

To my surprise he was rather reluctant. It seemed a birdy had twittered a bit much from the churigeons on the first. He knew I had a rather rough time recently in the burn. And was suggesting I take this time to relax and not strain myself. He really is considerate. But I assure dhim it was fine. We went about enjoying the rest of the day.

He came! I was so surprised, but he actually arrived safely and I couldn’t have been happier. I’ll be thanking Lyna forever for convincing him if she had a part in this! It was a crazy idea, and I never imagined he’d come. And with no shortage of glamour no less-- 

--- for a man who makes pacts with fae, and can make you vanish from sight. I shouldn’t be surprised he pulled this off. Still- I grew accustomed to his other form.

We wasted no time and took off for the festivities! He was enthusiastic for this too and was the first one in the water!
