[8:13 pm] artist boyfriend! taeyong looks over to you, sitting on the desk behind his and smiles at the sight. pursed lips, concentrated eyes, as you carefully but carelessly color in a picture of a squirrel in the adult coloring book he got you.

“i want to color and do more artsy stuff like you,” you brought up randomly, hands twirling in your hair. taeyong, who happened to be sketching at that moment, raised an eyebrow before looking up to meet your gaze. you shot him a dazzling smile, one that made the sides of his mouth turn upwards. 

“i got you something!” taeyong announced, excited as he held a bag. you raised your eyebrow in confusion.

“what’s the occasion? it’s not my birthday or an anniversary,” you question, cautiously taking the bag. taeyong doesn’t respond and just urges you to open it. you pull out an adult coloring book, face expressing confusion before it hits. you let out a hearty laugh at your boyfriend’s quirkiness.

“hey, we all gotta start somewhere right?” he smiles, his smile contagious and infecting you. you nod with a smile as he holds his arms open for you, which you gladly walked into. 

“thank you baby, just wait, we are going to be the next artsy couple out there!” you chuckle, burying your face into your boyfriend’s shoulder. he let out a chuckle of his own, hand reaching up to caress your head. 

the memory is still vivid in taeyong’s mind, what started out as a little gag gift turned into something he actually dreamed of. the fact that you wanted to try and pursue something that was his passion just made his heart burst; he’s been through a lot following his passion, and you just accepted him with open arms. that’s one of the main reasons why he loved you, and you were his muse. 

“how’s it going over there babe?” he asked, rolling his chair backwards to be right next to you.

“i think it’s looking good! look, i made it monochromatic by only using purple!” you excitedly show him, a proud and adoring smile spreading across his face. “now let me see yours!” you say, and before he can even protest you roll your chair back, taking in the masterpiece that laid on his desk. you groaned.

“baby, it’s fine! your squirrel is so cute,” he comforted you, knowing you were now embarrassed of your purple squirrel. 

“yeah it might be cute but have you seen yours? it makes me look like an amateur!” you whined, eyes glued to the new piece taeyong was working on. it was an abstract landscape, using cool tones that ended up making a whimsical piece. 

taeyong laughed before rolling back to your side and cupping your pouting face as he laid a kiss on those lips. “we all gotta start somewhere baby.”

[11:24 pm] the falling sound of raindrops surround you and boyfriend!mark with an odd sense of comfort. you sat in the drivers seat, one hand and leg propped up with the other hand on the wheel, while mark sat in the passenger seat. mark just watched you with awe; he couldn’t believe how beautiful you were even if you just woke up from a nap and threw on a random hoodie (that was his). he watched the serene expression on your face, eyes focused on the road in front of you, occasionally following the motion of the windshield wiper. the both of you decided to go on a random late night drive, only for it to get soiled by rain. you two didn’t mind though, it was comforting in a strange way.

upon reaching a stoplight, you exhaled. you looked over to mark, only to find him already looking back at you. feeling shy under his gaze, you raise a questioning eyebrow, to which he just smiled sweetly at. “when was the last time i told you that you were beautiful?” mark quipped out, his smooth deep voice cutting through the frank ocean song that was currently playing.

“what’s with the cheesiness all of a sudden?” you turn away from your boyfriend with burning cheeks, glad that the now green light is there to distract you. no matter how long you’ve known mark, he never failed to catch you by surprise. 

“nothing, just wanted to remind you how much i love you.” he responded, leaning further back into his seat. even with your (his) hood on, he is still able to trace the outlines of your face from the side. your nose he loves to boop, your long lashes over the eyes he loves to get lost in, and finally, your lips that he finds intoxicating. no matter how much he looked at you, he would still find something new on you that he would find beautiful.  

“has anybody ever told you that you have a staring problem?” you mumbled, quickly glancing at the man in question from the corner of your eye. you could feel his stare on you the entire ride, not that it was uncomfortable, it was just so passionate. his deep laughter filled the car, bringing a smile to your face. no matter how drained you were, that sound never failed to bring a smile to your face. mark truly was your energy source; he never failed you recharge you when you were at your lowest, or boost you to even higher levels. 

“you know i only got eyes for you baby,” he laughed, before finally turning his gaze away from you and out the window, the smile never leaving his face. no matter how gloomy the weather was, it was always bright and sunny with the two of you.

genre: sooo much fluffff summary: after your wedding, you and husband!jaehyun are expecting bigger and better changes. (1,008 words) a/n: for the birthday boy hehe this is actually sort of a sequel to my last year post for jaehyun’s birthday..which can be found here..full masterlist can also be found in the bio!

Finding Out “I don’t want to look!” You exclaimed, covering your face with your palms. 

“You have to look,” Jaehyun said calmly, rolling his eyes as he patted your back. He knew you were not fully serious, only exaggerating out of panic.

“Come on babe, you can’t ignore this forever.” With a sigh, knowing he was right, you finally took your hands off your face, taking in a deep breath.

“Ready?” Jaehyun asked, anticipation sparkling in his eyes. Hands grabbing his, you confidently nodded. Simultaneously, you both turned out to the stick resting on the counter.

Positive.

You gasped as Jaehyun broke out into a huge smile, arms wrapping around you as he lifted you up and spun you in circles. You let out laughs of glee, him letting out cheers of victory. He finally put you down but still held you in his arms, hands reaching up to cup your face. His smiling was beaming just like yours, and in that moment you two just gazed into each other’s eyes, filled with so much love and adoration; your lives couldn’t have gotten any better. 

“We’re going to have a baby,” Jaehyun whispered, leaning in so close to your face you can feel his breath. With a bright smile and tears welling up in your eyes, you let out a puff of air. 

“We’re going to have a baby,” you repeated in a hushed whisper, tears finally streaming out of your eyes as Jaehyun holds you even tighter. He finally brings his face to yours, connecting you two in a kiss filled with so much love and passion. You both smiled into the kiss, ecstatic for the new chapter in your lives together with a few new characters.

Breaking the News It wasn’t unusual for you to tag along with Jaehyun to the company, you were practically apart of the family already. So, when you walked into the recording studio behind Jaehyun, greeting Mark and Taeyong, they didn’t think too much of it. You were finally going to start telling people the news, after having taken multiple tests and finally scheduling a doctor’s appointment that confirmed everything. Jaehyun casually walked up to the boys as you took a seat on the couch, head resting on your palm as you listened to them talk about music. Jaehyun would catch your eye at some points, sending you a dazzling smile and cheeky wink. You quietly giggled and hid your expression, feigning ignorance as planned. However, these exchanges weren’t completely looked over by Taeyong, as he noticed you two making googly love eyes at each other. He gave you both a weary look with a raised eyebrow, nevertheless going back to work with the thought now lingering at the back of his mind. 

After a few minutes of just sitting on the couch, staring into space, you finally stood up and made your way to the boys. Catching Jaehyun’s eye, you sent him a wink. “Hey, how does this sound?” Jaehyun played a snippet of a beat while Mark and Taeyong listened intently. 

“Hm, I think it sounds interesting, with the pitch being a little strange but not in a bad way.” Mark said, pen tapping his chin. Jaehyun smirked, if only they realized that was an indirect announcement of your pregnancy. 

“What do you think babe?” Jaehyun turned to you, holding back his smile. You hummed, acting as if you were thinking.

“It’s good, but I think it should be clearer. Maybe instead of that, it should just clearly say that I’m pregnant.” You dropped the bomb, Taeyong and Mark listening intently. Once the gears in their heads started turning, Taeyong’s jaw dropped as Mark’s pen tapping abruptly stopped. 

“I knew it! No wonder you two were making such weird expressions to each other!” Taeyong exclaimed, quickly standing up and pointing an accusatory finger at you both. You and Jaehyun finally laughed, sharing a high-five at your successful surprise. 

“Wait, what? No joke?” Mark asked, still in awe. You both nodded in the midst of your laughing. “What the, I knew this beat wasn’t serious! It’s so not your style dude, wow.” He said, still shocked at the news. 

“Yeah, well if you looked closely you would see that it says, ‘I’m pregnant,’” Jaehyun pointed out. Mark and Taeyong nodded in awe, finally seeing the little hidden message.

“Well, what are we waiting for, we have to tell the other guys!” Mark said, closing up and gathering his things to leave the studio. Taeyong already started dialing all the other members, demanding a sudden meeting in the dance practice room.

Letting it sink in You fell into bed with a sigh, turning to face Jaehyun who already had his arms open for you. After a spontaneous dinner celebration of the news, the boys never failed to tire you out. Under the moonlight lightly shining in the room, you can see how Jaehyun’s face had a soft smile on it. Snuggling further into his chest, you took a deep breath.

“I’m so excited.” Jaehyun whispered, voice laced with drowsiness.

“Me too,” you giggled back.

“We’re going to be parents, and as terrifying as that is, I know we’re going to do a good job. You’re going to be the best mom, and I’ll try to be the best dad.” 

In the darkness, you stared at Jaehyun’s face, the moonlight illuminating all of his features. Lightly tracing your fingers along his face with a gentle smile, you let it sink in. “You are going to be the best dad.” You reassured him, his smile growing. He slowly opened his eyes to meet your gentle smile, his eyes dancing over your face. You both just silently stared at each other, basking in each other’s love and adoration, letting in the thoughts of the future sink in. 

“God, I love you to the moon and back.” He says before closing his eyes again, pulling you in even tighter as you both let sleep take over, dreams of a happy family playing in your minds.
