We ignore Divine guidance and opt for a life of deprivation and lack as a result This state gives rise to tenacious greed and selfishness. It is lack at its best. Even if we possess everything in the world, without aligning with the soul, we are poor and needed. Our soul knows that. It keeps fighting to remind us of what is good for us. This struggle continues. Some out us just double down and start claiming divinity directly or indirectly. Overcoming the false self is the real battle, the real struggle and the greater Jehad.

The soul actually is not just a battery. It’s not just something that animates our body and keeps us alive, right? It has a purpose, it's a tool for the connection to the creator. It has a purpose, it keeps us in harmony with the divine attributes like; justice, mercy, compassion, and love on the one hand, and helps us move our ego towards the self, on the other. When we ignore our fitra, the intrinsic nature, we lose the authentic concept of who we really are. We are born with a genuine sense of self that is immaculate and perfect. It is part and parcel of our perfect Fitra – our intrinsic nature. However, our upbringing, culture, traditions, trends, social pressure, and what we hear from people… develop a totally different personality or fake self for us. Our likes and dislikes and our anger and other behavior, including our overall attitude in life. This part explains how soul helps us move our ego (false self) to our true self.

All attempts to patch our injured souls that are crying for connection to Allah, are merely desperate prescriptions for happiness. They are prescriptions to mitigate the pain that is the symptom of our being more weighted in the “Self” rather than the “soul” that only wants Allah. This part explains how Fitra constantly tries to remind the Self and is in a constant struggle to keep the self on the straight path.

Because of our culture, our traditions, our trends n society, we develop a totally different personality. Our likes and dislikes and our specific attitude in life are shaped by external influences. That new, manufactured self becomes our ego. That's not the true being that we are. That’s a fake self. That self is the target of real, life long Jehad.

We have to align the “self” with the Fitra (intrinsic nature) and nurture it along its lines. And follow the minimum conditions for success discussed in this video.

This Series is created as a gift to humanity by PeaceQuest Centre for Human Excellence. The series explains the holistic picture of Islam with all related components to highlight how Islam's message, worship and the way of life are focused on one objective: To help us achieve human excellence, which is a pre-requisite for ultimate success. The series also talks about the most forgotten aspect of our being - our spirit, or Rooh. When who we are and what we do are not in alignment, we suffer and cause the suffering of others. A happier and contended world awaits us once we align our actions with our intrinsic nature (Fitra). There is a clear blueprint for that, provided we understand and follow it to achieve human excellence. This series explains the holistic picture of Islam with several interconnected and mutually reinforcing elements. We particularly ignore one important element out of all of these (our Rooh), which blocks our way to achieving human excellence and thus enjoying true happiness and contentment. PeaceQuest CHE is a non-profit whose mission is to examine the root causes that give rise to intolerance, hate and violence on the one hand and the environmental, social, and economic crises of our time on the other. PQCHE offers a clear analysis of the way that helps human beings discover their true self and humanity to live in harmony with each other and the biosphere. Learn more: https://peacequest.net

We make several choices every day. However, there is one voice that determines our ultimate success or failure in life. Here we are discussing that choice. The choice that was given to us after granting the revelation, after putting the seed of seeking the truth in our intrinsic nature.
