I understand the love for headcanons.

But people have to stop pretending Dad Gojo to Megumi is canon. He protected him from the Zenins. But at no point do they treat each other in that manner.

They didn’t have that dynamic and getting mad at Gege for not validating it is bizarre. When he explicitly in comparison called Geto’s dynamic with the twins fatherly.

He cared about Megumi. But it was not in that way. It’s doing both characters a disservice.

90% of actors/writers don’t qualify for health insurance. A lot of them are working retail/fast food because their current salary won’t pay them enough. They are being currently subsidized during the strike by their very wealthy 1%. And having stuff like their groceries paid for during these trying times.

Imagine being such a loser your stanning studios who actively refuse to let writers engage with new IP because they’re afraid of taking chances and then blaming the writers.

These actors picketing are doing it to be noticed and validated like they do on Social Media, on their podcasts etc. For crying out loud the Late Night hosts have a got a podcast because pity them, they're on strike.

If you go look on IMDB, the majority of movies coming out this year and next year are all reboots, sequels and prequels. Very little is original content. Yes an AI could write a reboot, prequel or sequel. Writers got lazy and studios are losing money because people prefer to watch movies at home than spend a ridiculous amount of money at the cinema. Studios are losing money and don't have the money that writers and actors want. Terrible but true. The strikers won't win this one. Use your brain before supporting things.

Maybe it’s the decades of anime exposure. But like that scene didn’t seem sexual at all. Nudity, yes. Peak anime bullshit, yes. But shounen/seinen anime/manga dips into that with overly close older sisters so often that its basically it’s own trope at this point. So seeing people take it seriously surprised me.

Like I think she’s a monster who raised her brother as a meat shield. And a embodiment of the evil system of the jujutsu society.

But also I think it does a disservice to think Gojo, Nanami and the rest of the adults are friends with a open pedo.

Are you a horrible person for sympathizing with Belos a little and maybe wanting for him to get a redemption in like a well written au (I know it's dang near impossible in canon) because you like him as a villain and maybe you think he's attractive and you like him like him a lot. This is cringe, I know.

Fandom has this horrific trend of equating the type of media you enjoy/the characters you like to morality. No, you are not a terrible person for sympathizing with the main villain, you are not a terrible person for wishing things had been different.

You cannot condone the actions of a fictional character because they are just tools to tell a story. What makes you a terrible person is harassing real people for liking a fictional character.

Are people terrible for dressing up as Darth Vader or the Joker despite all of the destruction and countless lives they have taken? Is Disney evil for hiring actors to dress as Gaston and having them entertain children?

You know how many fan fics/fan art exist showing Anakin as a good dad to Luke and Leia? It's normal to sympathize with villains because it shows empathy and that the story impacted you in a way that made you see the inherent tragedy and how it could have been avoided.

It's also okay to just enjoy villains being villains because of their design, acting, campiness, or because they're really engaging. There's a reason Disney villains are so popular; they provide a cathartic release where people can enjoy an evil character because it's all fiction. It has no effect on the real world.

Modern fandom has this puritanical streak dressed in social justice language when at its heart, it's just bullying (and it seems to be nearly always kids' shows fandoms, I don't see this mindset in media aimed at adults).

The fact that you can't enjoy a goddamn fictional character without questioning your own morality is wicked and anyone who makes you feel that way is an asshole.

Go and sympathize with the Evil Puritan. Write that AU fic. Your favorite shows and characters are supposed to bring you joy. Be cringe. Be free.

Saw a post on fridging and like it’s use in TVtropes language has slowly made it drift from its original use into bad writing/or woman dies.

Which erases the actual maliciousness of a fridging. And that’s it’s inherent lack of agency towards the woman in question. They exist for male pain and stop existing as characters to remain a eternal victim too pure for this world. Whatever previous characterization they had erased.

For example.

Black widow made a choice. It’s badly written. But it was her decisions that led to her death. This was not a fridging.

Compare to Gwen Stacy who was thrown off the bridge by the green goblin. Not because of any active choice she made. But because Norman wanted to hurt Spiderman. Her personality erased. And she just became a eternal victim in the narrative of Spiderman. Nobody remembered Gwen the character anymore. They remembered Gwen, the sad victim that Norman killed. Her death overshadowed everything about her character.

I find the idea of Pyrrha being fridged a disservice to her character. She died. But she had agency in her death. She chose to protect Jaune. She chose to fight Cinder. She wasn’t slain by Cinder to make Jaune sad while completely powerless like Gwen. She fought tooth and nail to survive the battle and lost. She was a hero and that’s how everyone honors her. She wasn’t a a victim at the wrong place at the right time. She was a champion slain who was honored as such.
