Cackling geese!! In my city!

I remember ages ago seeing a post on Tumblr about how sometimes, you may find what looks like a smaller, cuter Canada goose among a flock of 'em, and if you do, that's the cackling goose.

So when I spotted this lil guy hanging out on the outskirts of a flock in Portland, it felt like spotting a celebrity:

Then a few minutes later, to extend the metaphor, I crashed the goddamn Met Gala.

If you're confused this graph shows the taxation of the top income margin. The "good old days" many conservatives claim existed because of policies those same conservatives aren't willing to put into place- taxes for the rich and accessable social services using that funding. The 30s-50s was also a peak for unions and other workers rights the conservatives aren't fighting for any of these things they just use the era because they want to defend white supremacy. That's it plain and simple.

i think a lot of liberals need to confront the fact that they don’t actually believe everyone should have basic human rights. a homeless person could call me every slur under the sun and i would still want them to have housing, food, etc. the belief that everyone is entitled to basic human rights should not hinge on whether you “like” someone or not. at that point the entire ideology crumbles.

PSA: tomatoes are not spicy. Tomatoes and tomato products should not be spicy. Pizza sauce isn’t inherently spicy. Tomato-based pasta sauce is not spicy. Ketchup is NOT spicy.

Anyways in short fuck billionaires and this guy either is one or is close enough that he's able to singlehandedly screw over our economy on a regular basis.

Ok so this company is currently kicking people out of their business leases without warning. People with existing leases to the Downtown Development Group LLC I strongly encourage you to lawyer up and be prepared to ENFORCE that lease. If your lease is coming to renewal soon see if you can save or find insurance for relocation in the event your landlord doesn't renew. The guy doing this is Greg Goodman the current lead developer of the Goodman family

This guy has been complaining non stop that the homeless are the reason for downtown falling apart. Meanwhile if you actually fucking lived in Portland you would know that 10 years ago we had a similar homeless problem but a booming small business sector. Many small businesses have closed over the past 10 years for various reasons but the most common reason was commercial real estate raising the rent as soon as business started to be successful. Many businesses were still just starting out and every year when rents go up we lose small businesses that make our city unique.

This asshole just wants to raise the rent YET AGAIN notice no direct quote for getting people off the street? What do you want to bet his exact words was a slew of classist BS blaming poor people for the problem HE is responsible for. The reason he wants the homeless people gone is so he can have sky high rentals that don't remain empty. Portland is fueled by small businesses and this asshole just wants to kick them out so that large corporations will overpay him for the land he got from his parking lot building daddy. He views our city as HIS playground. What. A. Tool.

Which means this assholes dad or him was likely one of the corporate assholes that's been underhandedly messing with public transit in Portland (we used to have no fare square and a transit system where you could get anywhere, parking lots stretch the city out and make spaces less walkable and no fare square was completely phased out. ) anyways if you're in Portland you should know who the Goodman Family (cartoon villain level ironic surnname) is and you should hate them.
