Books Every Teen Should Read!
Tumblr media
The Fault In Our Stars, is as tragic as a love story as Romeo and Juliet.  Instead of their families keeping Hazel and Augustus apart cancer does. Both are teenagers who have faced very real and very terminal cancers. John Green plunges us into this heart dropping tale that is made bearable by  great humor and happy moments.

Books Every Teen Should Read
Tumblr media
The story of Charlie is not a happy one, but it's a story every teen can relate to. His struggles are real ones, struggles of friends, family, and himself. Charlie's voice is 'real' and the story does not come across as 'preachy'. This is not a tale of warning, no, this a tale of growing up.

Genres to Love: Dystopian Fiction
With Hunger Games breaking box office records and the Divergent  promising big things Dystopian Fiction is a genre to watch out for. These books and films mix: sci-fi, survival, action, and a lot of time romance. Uglies, is a series to explore if you loved either of these films or novels. This book is about a society in which everyone has to be pretty. At the age sixteen they go through an operation to make them beautiful. After that they move to New Pretty Town Island where their lives are carefree as those in the Capitol in Hunger Games. Tally, the main character, does not want to be pretty like the rest of them.  She sets out to defy that way of life and find something that means more. The Maze Runner, is another book to check out if you love this type of novels. Thomas, was brought to the Glade with no memory of the outside world. The Glade was surrounded by a Maze with deadly creatures inside of it. They were trying to solve the Maze for at least two years now and get to the outside world. A boy a month is sent up through the elevator in the Glade but, the next one after Thomas that was sent up was a girl with a note claiming 'this is the last one'. Thomas is now determined to solve the Maze and hopefully get them out of the Glade. Ender's Game another book that has been made into a movie recently is full of sci-fi and action. A boy, Ender Wiggins' is brought to Battle School to train to become a captain to defeat the Buggers(an alien race) once and for all.  Ender, is brightest of all the prodigy and slated to run the fleet that will make a preemptive strike against the Buggers. This story follows Ender's story through Battle School. All of these books and more would be great choices to feed your Dystopian addiction.
