I got into tech. Programming, engineering. Maybe it was Dad’s influence. Maybe it was because I was an Asian kid with a single mom, into girls, and high school was hell. But it turns out… I was good.

       ❛ Huh. Sure– you got it, big guy. I mean, all things considered, it’s not like there’s a whole bunch of options floating around right now. No offence. ❜Is now a good time to mention she’s the sole owner of a self designed personal force field strong enough to withhold a direct blast from a planetary weapon. And yes, of course– she’d already tested it to withstand exactly that kind of force but well, whatever.

Ugh, god I just love Toni... like how can you not... why are more people not in love with her. Also I’ve got the day off tomorrow. Plan to do a lil writing and catch up even though I’ve neglected pretty much all my muses.

Toni affectionately calls Theoretical Physics ‘weird crap’ because she never saw the need to place emphasis on the why. In her opinion, the more time spent caught up with figuring out the why, the less time you’d have to take action and solve real world problems.   

Scientists study how the world works. Engineers study how to work the world. The scientist asks "Why does it do that?" where the engineer asks "How can I make it do this?".

She’ll avoid getting involved in any of Max’s theoretical crap because her patience often wears thin when the end goal is to gain a deep understanding of physical phenomena, instead of applying what is known to do something or make something useful.
