Spell to Say Farewell to a Deceased Pet
The loss of a pet can be traumatic and devastating. They are, after all, part of our families, and we love them unconditionally. Once a pet passes away, it can be hard to move on from the grief. Do this spell to help ease the transition after your pet has passed.
Materials:
A pink candle
Two stones, one to represent you and one to represent your pet
Symbols of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water
Light the candle, and hold the stones together in your hand, remembering the love you felt for your pet. Think about the wonderful times you had together, and the joy you shared. It’s okay to cry if you need to.
When you’re ready to move forward, pass the two stones over the elemental symbols. As you do, say:
[PETS NAME] with the energies of Earth, I am with you in spirit, and you are with me.
Repeat this for each of the elements. When you’re done, say:
I thank you for being in my life, and for the honor of letting me be in yours. I release you now, but will never forget you.
Blow out the candle, and keep the stones in your pocket to rub together when you are thinking about your lost pet.

How to help millions of disabled Americans
The SSI Restoration Act of 2021 is currently proposed to congress. We have until 2023 to get it passed (this post is dated March 30, 2022). SSI is a type of disability payment for disabled Americans. The bill will increase the SSI payment to the poverty level. Right now the maximum payment is 9528$ a year. It will allow disabled people on SSI to marry and not lose their income which they cannot do currently. Disabled Americans do not have marriage equality currently. It will increase the asset and income caps for SSI among other improvements.
Friends and I made a website that has all of this info plus a really easy way to send an email to your state reps. If you click the link below, you can send a letter of support for the SSI Restoration Act to your state reps. It’s already written and takes only a few minutes. Seriously it is ridiculously easy. These emails have more pull to reps than resistbot so please fill out if you can!
With our letter campaign, people have sent over 5,000 letters to representatives! We've decided to make a new campaign with updated information to send to reps. So if you have already sent one through fixssi.com, you can send another! And if you haven't please take the time to do so!
We also have a Facebook called "Campaign to Fix SSI" that you can follow for regular updates as well.
And if you are able to call state reps (which has the most influence) our website has a call script and lists of your reps phone numbers. Please follow the link below for that.
Please send a letter to your reps and boost! It could change the lives of millions of disabled Americans.

*Peers from the crypt*
Pardon me while I blow the dust off this thing... While my home altar is a lot of candles & not much else right now, my offerings to my assortment of deities have been acts of kindness, acts of emotional fortitude, & acts of self care. & for Inari, also busting my ass in school, because might as well enjoy that Japanese tradition before I move over there. I’m also planning on writing a full collection of devotional poetry to Hekate because I thought about it & her candle went bonkers. So that’ll be a thing. Now that I think about it, I may post some devotional poems on here every once in a while just to stretch that part of my brain. Grief, anxiety, & anger have had me by the throat for a while, as I have the threat of homelessness looming over me. My physical health has been tumultuous as well, with the likelihood of having a fully hysterectomy this summer, as well as major dental surgery. I am also being checked for multiple types of cancer within the next month. I’m hoping to find a way to support myself & not drop out of university, while still caring for my grandfather. There will be a new post soon with good stuff, I promise.

Rådare (Norse Creatures)
I will be using the Swedish names/words as there are no English translations.
Rådare comes from the word “råda” which means “to rule/take care of” so a rådare is a creature that rules over something.
Every rådare rules over their own thing. For example there’s a skogsrå for every forest.
The easiest way to make them happy is through respect and gifts.
You can protect yourself from them by wearing metal.
Remember that the gift has to be biodegradable! A lot of sources say that you should give coins, clothes, tobacco etc. But this is extremely disrespectful as you’re destroying their home (and it’s generally shitty to pollute).
Even if you haven’t done anything to make them angry it’s always good to show respect by acknowledging them when you enter their home.
Skogsrå
Rules over the forest and the creatures that live there.
Usually looks like a beautiful woman with a hollow back and/or hooves and tail. She can also take the shape of different forest creatures.
If in a good mood she helps those who are lost and warns people about incoming storms.
If in a bad mood she makes sure people get lost.
If you live on your own in/close to a forest (or if you are camping) she might come at night when you’re sitting by the fire and attempt to seduce you. If you sleep with her she will keep a part of your soul and you will always have a longing and obsession with the forest.
If hunters give her gifts she might “give” them an extra big animal. Though if they manage to shoot one of the animals she protects they have to face her wrath
Havsrå
Rules over the ocean and the creatures that lives there.
Usually looks like a beautiful woman with long hair, gills, fins, and a fishtail. She can also take the shape of different sea creatures.
If in a good mood she shows fishermen where they can find the best fish or warns them about incoming storms. She can also give them good wind and help boats that are taking in water.
If in a bad mood she can trick boats into storms so they get lost or sink.
Sometimes she will seduce people and drag them down to her home at the bottom of the ocean where they are forced to work as servants.
She might stop boats and offer to buy their load, if this happens it’s best to accepts as if you say no she might get so angry that she takes down the entire ship.
Sjörå
Rules over lakes and the creatures that live there.
Usually looks like a beautiful woman with a hollow back. Unlike havsrået she has legs. She can also take the shape of different freshwater creatures.
If in a good mood she might help fishermen and warn them about incoming storms.
She only drowns people who have made her angry or if she is very hungry.
Just like skogsrået if fishermen give her gifts she might “give” them an extra big fish. Though if they manage to catch one of the creatures she protects they have to face her wrath.
Gruvrå
Rules over mountains and mines.
Usually looks like a tall woman in an elegant, grey dress. If seen wearing black it is a sure sign of death.
If in a good mood she shows miners better ore veins or warns them about any dangers.
If in a bad mood she tries to scare people away, if they ignore the warning signs she makes sure they get lost in the mine.
Enjoys silence and solitude.
Doesn’t like it when people make too much noise.
Becomes very angry if miners manage find one of the ore veins she protects.
Källrå
Rules over natural springs.
Usually looks like a young girl but most of the time she’s invisible. She can also take the shape of a toad.
If in a good mood she might show you the future though the water surface. It’s important to remember not to look for too long or too deep as you might lose yourself.
If in a bad mood she can make you sick after you’ve drank the water.
A lot of sources will say that if you sacrifice something to her before you drink the water it will heal you as well as make the water clean/drinkable. This is not true. There’s not a magical cure for deceases or disorders. Also there’s no way to magically make water drinkable. Always make sure a natural spring is clean before you drink from it.
This is compiled from my own grimoire / what I was taught growing up

why i am starting this challenge
Yule and the winter solstice is the best time to conduct reflection work, and based on the hectic year we all had, I know i definitely need it!! hopefully i can inspire and motivate others to follow this challenge as well, and if not the challenge then atleast inspire others to work with some sort of reflection!
todays question
What is one thing i could do this month to improve my spiritual walk?
answer - i would like to implement pulling a tarot card and deeply applying and analyzing it daily.

This Yule’s blessings:
This Yule, I hope your hearths are warm and your hearts open
This Yule, I hope your plates are full, as are your fridges, that your pantries run over, and your pockets full
This Yule, I hope your meds are refilled, that they are taken, and that they are effective
This Yule, I hope your altars are bright, your homes lit, and your Gods benevolent
This Yule, I hope you have enough gentleness in you to safely remember those who have passed and rejoice in those who have come into your family
This Yule, I pray for your political, economic, and basic safety
May the end of the year sweep out old grief and bring in prosperity!

Long Time, No Talk
Well, like the title of the blog says, I’m on a winding path. My exploration with deities is always fun, but for a while, I may be talking about contact with spirits, especially lost loved ones. My Nonnie is on my mind a LOT right now, & I feel like she’s trying to talk to me. It’s all comforting, which helps, because I feel like I’m starting to shake apart at the edges. So let’s see... Deity work: Loki winds me up to help me keep up with my new young friends (Stay in school kids, being 32 & in class with a bunch of 18 year olds is kicking my ass). Inari is making sure that I have new opportunities almost daily, to the point where I’m actually trying to reprioritize what I want out of life. Moving to Japan may be leaving the picture...but making a bigger impact for marginalized children here in the states looks like it will be happening. Persephone & Hades are teaching me beautiful lessons in communication & connections. It’s making my upcoming visit to my partner very exciting. Hekate is cracking the whip metaphorically (METAPHORICALLY MA’AM), & telling me to get my shit together so I can get started on Shadow Work (Loki keeps agreeing, which makes me nervous). Real life stuff that is impacting spiritual work: University. I’m a multifaith ambassador for the school, on top of finishing up the first semester here. Finals. I did not miss this part. I had a field placement for the last 3 months...& it broke my heart to leave the kids. There was a lot of tension but I made some deep relationships & I pray to every child-protecting deity to watch over my kidlets...because that is a rough school to be in, & junior high isn’t easy on anyone. Papa. I’m my grandfather’s live-in caregiver. He has dementia, macular degeneration, degenerative disk disease, & is constantly in pain from a knee injury he waited too long to try to fix. We lost my Nonnie in August, & we are really struggling with missing her right now. My mother is not helping, but that’s its own nightmare post. My physical health. I am HPV+. 99% of people can clear that virus from their system no sweat. I am unfortunately unable to, & will have it for the rest of my life. It is attacking my immune system. It is also causing me to show as pre-cancerous on pap smears & colposcopies (cervical biopsies) every 3 months. I’m being tested for other immunodeficiency diseases as well. I am being proactive to deal with the pain in my body (I kinda snapped out & realized that not everyone hurts 24/7), so I am now seeing an orthopedic dr who gave me cortisone shots in my knees (FUCKING MAGIC, it’s like memory foam in my kneecaps), & in 6 weeks I will get them in my shoulders as well. He has given me a meal plan to start working with (more a list of foods that I should eat more of, & what I should eat less of, which works for me!), & strength training exercises to protect the joints. To top off that particular cake, my mouth is in worse trouble than ever, & my face hurts so much that I can only eat soft foods. Work/Finances. Uhhh yeah. 3 jobs, still can’t pay my bills. So I’ll likely be starting to offer oracle card readings, & ritual wording for spells for donations. I need $25k for dental work, $3k to get my credit card debt down to nothing, & honestly, just $5k in the bank would be nice so I could stress less.

...Ok. Apparently, I was not specific enough...
So I don’t intend to post the things that I am actively manifesting, because I personally believe it’s bad juju to let people know what you’re trying to make happen behind the scenes. Too many people will throw negativity at it. As it’s been mentioned previously, I’m very much a polytheist. Inari, Hekate, & Loki seem to be my big 3 of all the deities that I’ve felt called to. I was working up details to get myself a new vehicle, because my little Pontiac is old & not the most reliable in winter. I didn’t put stipulations on how/why I would need the new vehicle. I was on my way to a doctor’s appointment, trying to get a referral for the orthopedic doctor (pain. My life is pain lol). I had to make an abrupt hard right turn to avoid an accident, & in the process dragged my car’s driver’s side over a foot high curb. I blew the front tire, & bent the back rim. *sigh* I have no idea what else is wrong with it, I had it towed to my mechanic, & they’re going to work up a list & quote for me.

Easy Witchcraft Tips
I feel like I got a really good response to easy tips, especially from beginner practitioners and those still in the broom closet, so I'm going to put together a quick list of easy (and easily excusable) little tricks that made my practice easy in a house that used to be full of Mormons.
Leave a bottle of water on the windowsill or dresser in front of the window on nights of the full moon to make moon water. It's just a water bottle, right?
Small runes and sigils can be drawn with white crayon/colored pencil on white walls and no one will be able to see it. Plus, it can be easily removed with a magic eraser sponge. Tuck them into corners, right above the floor, or right underneath a window.
If you want crystals, and you have the money for it, there are bracelets of crystal beads that can be easily passed off as accessories.
Scented candles are still colored candles. You can use a 'smell good' candle for its color.
You can absolutely use essential oils as herb replacements. Just make sure to keep them away from pets, and do not ingest them. Tap some onto your clothes to carry its effect around with you.
If you have a wax melter: melt the wax, pour it into a tray of some sort (I use a silicone mold) and add dried herbs. No burn, slow-release spell. Easily cleaned with hot water.
If no one snoops too much, hide slices of lemon around your room. As they dry, they absorb negative energy. Once they're completely dry, you can throw them away, burn them, bury them, put them in a jar to throw away at school, etc.
Mix powdered herbs with a little bit of moon water to make a thick 'paint', then apply somewhere covered on your body to infuse your presence with its effects.
Toss in a bit of sea salt in a spray bottle and fill with moon water. Shake to dissolve. Cleansing spray! You can tell your housemates that you had acne issues, and salt dries out spots. Just keep the misting very light so it dries, and vacuum/sweep and mop often.
I'll be making a few more of these kinds of posts, as well as some other easy spells and tricks. Feel free to send me more ideas to add to new posts! Good luck, and blessed be <3

Celebrate Samhain
Samhain is a sabbat marking the end of the harvest, and for celebrating all the great things about the fall season.
Outside:
Light a bonfire at night with friends
Carve or decorate a pumpkin (maybe with astrology!)
Visit a cemetery and leave an offering for the dead
Harvest the last of your herbs before winter
Appreciate the autumn season by collecting colored leaves
In the Home:
Decorate with apple tea light votives
Tell stories with loved ones about those who have passed
Make fall candles to light up the coming winter
Burn incense scented with pine, myrrh or cinnamon
Knit or crochet scarves and hats for the coming winter
In the Kitchen:
Bake a classic pumpkin pie and draw sigils in the crust
Make traditional Samhain soul cakes
Prepare homemade apple cider and bless it for healing and health
Make seasonal comfort foods and spicy teas
In the Bath:
Bathe in a mixture of allspice, sage, and mugwort* for a ritual bath
Take a lazy witch halloween LUSH bath
Banish negativity (and dead skin) with a DIY fall scented body scrub or cute little sugar scrub cubes
On your Altar:
Decorate with symbols of death like scythes or bones
Add personal items of passed loved ones or their pictures
Represent the seasonal harvest with foods like pumpkins, apples, dark bread, and ears of corn
Use colors like black, red, orange, brown, and deep purple
Incorporate black obsidian, smoky quartz, amber, or fossils
*Note: Mugwort should NOT be used by those who are pregnant or nursing
