I love this moment. ♡

God that…. that Iconic Moment in the Utena Finale where Utena just shoves off Akio’s stupid face. It is so powerful because of *dismissive* it is. Utena isn’t expressing anger at Akio or anything like that. He’s not her SWORN ENEMY THAT SHE MUST DEFEAT anymore, he’s just in her GODDAM WAY and she has more important shit to do that to be lectured by the Mullet Man! 

For Akio, everything is HIS story, everything is about HIM. This is the Narrative of the Fallen Prince who Would Do Everything to Regain His Lost Glory - Anthy only exist so *he* could feel So Very Bad about her suffering and her becoming a Witch and Utena only factors as a way to get a new sword and maybe a fangirl. There is nothing more humilating and shattering him then to be viewed as just the shitty little obstacle that he is. Akio tries to make this all about him by getting in Utena way and lecturing to her. But it’s not about him.

It’s NEVER BEEN ABOUT HIM. 

It’s about Anthy.
