Over the past six years, One Direction fans have been faced with many unsolved, illusive mysteries. Whatever happened to the orange beanie? Why did Liam Payne decide to shave his head? Will we ever discover whether Leeroy’s creative dreams become a reality?
But possibly the biggest 1D-related mystery of all has spread like wildfire across the world wide web recently, as fans have noticed that Louis Tomlinson has an extremely fit friend who keeps popping up in loads of photographs, and nobody knows anything about him.
DO YOU KNOW THIS MAN? Please enquire within.
his rather good looking fella, also known as Luke according to the internet (no surname, he’s too mysterious for one of them) has been appearing in photos alongside Louis ever since the fetus days, but unlike Louis’ pals Oli and Calvin, Luke has managed to remain off the 1D radar.
He’s somewhat of an enigma, our Luke, flashing his jawline and ruffled dark hair in the background of various night out pics with Tommo, without so much as an Instagram user tag in any of ‘em.
WHO IS THIS MAN? We have so many questions for Luke NoSurname. Is he single? How does he know Louis? What’s his favourite One Direction song? Would he be willing to work as a naked butler in the Sugarscape offices?
We may never know, so let’s console ourselves by looking at loads of pics of him and Louis. Here they are waaay back in the day.
Here they are, having a cuddle… #Louke
In some form of fancy photobooth.
Being a lad with the lads.
Look, he’s even on Louis’ actual Instagram. We see you, LUKE.
Ooh, and again.
WHO ARE YOU, LUKE. The world is waiting (and by the world, we mean a fairly small percentage of the One Direction fandom, but still).

i am reminded by a professor - once a person leaves, you will never love like that again.
how wonderful. i will love in a new way each time, then, for new reasons. i will find out that my heart never had a limit on joy. i will know new things.
he says - we can never find our way back to loving the same way twice.
i am not the same person from before, though, am i? why would i want to take a tour of my life through the same eyes? why would i want to hold the same figure-eight? why would i come back to what has already been shoved through my throat? why wouldn't i want to walk in a new garden, with new stones?
it is also never the same sunset twice. the same thunderstorm. the same birdsong. life, in little chaos, holds no ghosts. i will love again, and thank god, it will be different. i move on, and the world says - you will meet someone else, who knows a different way to listen. and when i put my ears against the music again, it will feel like i am understanding a new set of secrets.
how wonderful. my love does not run out. it is remade and recolored and unstained in doubt. gold hair, coffee, the shape of her mouth.

What favor did Pete Buttigieg do you?
Someone I’m close to is having a rough time right now due to mental health/masculinity issues and he admires Pete so on a whim, I emailed Pete’s people and told them about my friend’s situation and Pete himself is writing my friend a personalized letter of support because those issues are important to him and he wants to help in any way he can.
I definitely didn’t expect that he would do that, especially since he’s not an elected official right now and I’m not his constituent but I’m so glad he did it.

In a livestream full of accomplishments, these are my standout impressions:
The production was pristine. The time, talent and energy that went into this was major and it paid off big time. This was production with a capital P. Lighting, sound, background effects, multi cameras, dolly tracks...this was finitely planned and executed. It paid off. That’s how you livestream, baby.
The joy of performance was palpable. Louis and the outstanding musicians he has assembled took the opportunity for all it was and they glowed. They lit up that space and their happiness - their relief - at performing again was a joy to watch.
The two times Louis turned his back to the camera were two of my favorite moments. The first to admire the talent of the band he put together during that thrilling Fearless interlude, the second was to acknowledge the bank of screens where his fans were performing “Kill My Mind”. “I don’t know what I’d do without you now” he sang to them, to us. They were lovely moments with Louis sharing his spotlight, including his band and his fans in the relationship of performance. It was very Louis.
I loved the focus on music. The quiet interludes between songs when Louis almost folded down into himself like origami, waiting quietly for the cue to the next music, then he’d unfold again with a mood and attitude for each song. It presented Louis’ songs with each complete on its singular merits but connected like jewels on a necklace. No loud banter, no hi jinx, the focus was squarely on his music and musicians but the quiet made you aware of the movement around the musicians; of the crew working seamlessly to pull this off. It was on camera, so included in the performance but it was the quiet buzz of professionals concentrating on delivering, on achieving a vision rather than playing to camera. The choreography of it was gorgeous.
As for that vision...despite, or maybe in spite of, the restrictions Louis has worked under, the limitations placed around his career (who knows precisely what and why, but to deny that Louis’ career has had - inexplicable given his level of fame & fan support - limitations is either stupidity or willful blindness at this point), despite those strictures, it is obvious there is one central vision in all this and it is that of Louis Tomlinson. “I was always the boss”, he told Elvis Duran and yeah, no shit. There was no power management team, no committee of label execs chiming in, no marketing focus groups. This was Louis. His career must have suffered from such a stance but it was obvious from the sheer cohesion of the whole livestream, this is Louis. Being the boss. This is Louis seeing an opportunity, running with it and executing it beautifully. Part of the satisfaction of the livestream was seeing Louis, surrounded by collaborators he has chosen, the talent he has amassed on and off camera and clearly enjoys working alongside, pulling off something not just impressive but something he wanted and believed in. He was the central figure and confident in the role. Confident in his music, his performance and his band. Confident in his choice of collaborators to execute the vision they dreamt up together and enjoying the moment it did. I hope we get more such moments. I hope his career going forward is filled with them. I don’t know the depths of what it has cost for Louis to do it his way but I hope last night proved to those who may need it, the level of what he can accomplish when left to do so. That, in a night of celebration, would be the biggest accomplishment of all.

The virus picks the nose (so to speak).
When I keep seeing these dicknoses out and about, I keep thinking, “I see dead people.”
Recent research shows COVID-19 has an easier time infecting people through the nose than the mouth.
https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2020/09/26/wearing-a-mask-but-not-covering-your-nose-youre-doing-it-all-wrong.html
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
WHY do these assholes expose their noseholes? WHY?
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Another good article: https://abc11.com/unc-mask-study-below-nose-covid/6387870/
“Things likely started in the nose,” said Professor of Medicine at UNC, Dr. Richard Boucher. “And the nose is the purveyor of all viral illness.”
A group of 43 researchers at the University of North Carolina mapped locations in the respiratory tract to see where COVID-19 most likely infiltrates the body. They found the cells that line the nose may be more likely to become infected with the virus than the throat or lungs. “The virus appeared to pick the nose as a fertile ground for infection,” said Boucher.

I adore them. I love the way Pete looks at Chasten. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have someone who loves you so much. They’ve been together 5 years and still look at each other like this… That’s true love.
