October vibes: falling ‘Curtain 01043′ 2001 by Mayumi Terada is part of an edition of 10 Gelatin Silver Prints. Terada builds miniatures and photographs them, bringing her play worlds to life. This ominous scene, reminds us of the curtain scene in la Belle & la Bete by Jean Cocteau. We paired it with a simple thin white frame and a 100% cotton 12Ply thick mat. This gives the print room to breathe, letting the frame fade from focus. This piece is available for purchase at our Madison location.
Did someone say ‘Beetlejuice.’ ?!

We hope everyone swims with a lifeguard on duty! Diving into the painting:
Framed by Paris Frameworks in a thin white floater frame, not to detract from the piece. The white of the frame contains a hint of pink. Now available for purchase at our Madison location!

*Summer Sighs*
We framed this dreamy drawing by Louis Fratino in a handmade Traditional frame with a 100% cotton 12ply mat. The thicker bevel of the 12ply mat really enhances the subconscious feel of this piece.

Holiday Greetings from Paris Frameworks!
Here we have some dogs walking on a silent winter night. We floated this child’s artwork on a 100% cotton mat and used a thin white handmade frame. It’s like walking in a winter wonderland!

TGIF! Already exhausted from the holiday season...
Paris Frameworks framed this exquisite Sheila Metzner photograph in a thin handmade frame with a black rub that will lighten over time. We used a thick 100% cotton mat to emphasize the luxurious quality of this print.

We framed this print of ‘Les Pains de Picasso’ by Robert Doisneau in an ornamental frame with hand carved plumes that echos the ‘pains’ or ‘mains’ of Picasso. The finish of the frame is a very dark teak, that looks almost black but the tone is more compatible to photographs.

This ~groovy~ screenprint from Andy Warhol’s ‘Flower Series’, seems innocuous but represents the duality of beauty and death, as well as the grittier side of the Flower Power movement. We paired it with a silver leaf frame, a nod to the 60s. The island matting provides space for the piece to breathe.

Hand & Dagger
For these two objects from Morocco, we used a cream linen fabric that matches the dots on the face and ‘spine’ of the camel dagger. They gracefully rest, suspended in a black shadowbox.

Sailing away into Summer. To make these exquisite hand-carved anchors, we needed all hands on deck. The gilded 22k leaf has a vintage finish on it, making it look distressed. No need to send out an SOS, the painted black segments add definition and stability to the gilded areas.

The artist formerly known as Prince was born on this day! We framed this book with him on the cover by Matthew Rolston in a Museum quality plexi box with a black velvet fabric mat.

At Paris Frameworks, we framed a copy of the famous painting, ‘Le Pont d’Heraclite’ by Rene Magritte. We chose a thin bevel frame which mimics the arch of the bridge. The frame has a white gold leaf edge which softly reflects the brushstrokes of the water and sky.
